Massacre at Elementary School

Unpopular opinion or not, I completely believe this was staged. Rally support for the weapon confiscations. Anyone know if the weapon was obtained legally? Maybe that will quell my suspicions.

Sad story. I personally don't care, but I definitely see how and why others do.

I guarantee you that this, like the Aurora, CO movie theater shootings, Columbine shootings, Beltway sniper attacks, and all other acts of mass violence that came before, will be used as a pretext to strip us law-abiding citizens of the right to bare arms that we were born with!

I will NEVER surrender those rights, and those who try to take those rights away from me are the ones who deserve a shitload of bullet holes, not innocent children!

Stricter gun laws will accomplish nothing but prevent law-abiding citizens from having guns. Generally speaking, the type of people who commit illegal acts will not care how illegally they obtained their weapons.

And the mere presence of the Second Amendment won't be the only scapegoat for unspeakable tragedies like this. Anybody remember douchebag lawyer Jack Thompson? Every time this shit happened, he ALWAYS pointed the finger at video games such as MK, GTA, Manhunt, etc. There is a reason he was disbarred (and there is a reason Brown v. EMA officially put an end to his anti-gaming crusades).

Anyone remember Columbine? Not only were video games being used as a scapegoat, but so too was hard rock and heavy metal. The media was exposed as bullshit artists when they pointed the finger at Marilyn Manson over Columbine, and then it was later revealed that Klebold and Harris didn't even like Manson (in fact, Manson himself admitted on an episode of That Metal Show that Klebold and Harris thought he was a sell-out). That's why I think the bigger tragedy is the media coverage of this shit, because while several families are in mourning, the media is looking for scapegoats in an effort to keep this shit in the news cycle.

This makes me cry manly tears. I mean, these kids had their entire lives ahead of them, and they had them cut short, just like that. And the kids that didn't die will be traumatized for life because of this. Even Obama himself shed tears when talking about this.
For his punishment in hell, he should be eternally tormented by the souls of the children and staff he killed.

Obama cried? What were his tears made out of? I hear synthetic ones are hard to come by.

He sure doesn't cry when children are mutilated by drone strikes

Fcking A', This wasn't too far from where I used to live.

Also, seriously? Fck this political bullshit. Obama? Really? Most everyone on the internet right now, and on talk radio, the news, etc. need to take a serious cup of STFU and actually think for a little bit about what happened, and maybe feel something genuine instead of the mock outrage that's just an excuse for "Well, I think __________!!"

Fck people.

In defense of Gun control people.

that stabbing in japan comparison to the gun massacre here.

look at the death totals and tell me it's the same scenario.

I will protect my gun rights as much as any american. But I'm not gonna act like guns don't make it easy. I don't think a ban would fix anything.

And you always have missing data. like

The crimes that were deterred because alot of people had a gun. you can't get data on that, because you don't know who changed their minds.

Guns aren't ever going to be banned here. NRA has more influence than you think.

To be fair, though, if you don't like the Second Amendment and want it repealed, don't get mad at the NRA, get mad at the Founding Fathers. They were the ones who wrote it and ratified it, not the NRA. As a matter of fact, if you don't like gun rights, then get out of the United States. Gun rights are as American as baseball and apple pie.

I too think this was staged. It really shouldn't take fear and sacrificing innocent people (CHILDREN) for the government to want to try and pass a law. If the people don't want it done, it shouldn't be done. Its what this nation was built on.

As for this...

Let's use China as our example. Here is the sum of gun possession in China:

Gun ownership in the People's Republic of China is heavily regulated by law. Generally, private citizens are not allowed to possess guns.Guns can be used by law enforcement, the military and paramilitary, and security personnel protecting property of state importance (including the arms industry, financial institutions, storage of resources, and scientific research institutions).

Civilian ownership of guns is largely restricted to authorised, non-individual entities, including sporting organisations, authorised hunting reserves and wild life protection, management and research organizations. The chief exception to the general ban for individual gun ownership is for the purpose of hunting.

Individuals who hold hunting permits can apply to purchase and hold firearms for the purpose of hunting. Illegal possession or sale of firearms may result in a minimum punishment of 3 years in prison, with the maximum being the death penalty.

Gun ownership in Hong Kong and Macau is tightly controlled and possession is mainly in the hands of law enforcement, military, and private security firms (providing protection for jewelers and banks). Still, possessing, manufacturing and import/exporting airsoft guns with a muzzle energy not above two joules of kinetic energy is legal to citizens in China's SARs.

Firearms control was inherited during British and Portuguese rule and more or less retained today. Under the Section 13 of Cap 238 Firearms and Ammunition Ordinance of the Hong Kong law, unrestricted firearms and ammunition requires a license. Those found in possession without a license could be fined HKD$100,000 and imprisonment for up to 14 years

Now let's take another look at the list of non-gun related attacks and see how many occurred in China.

Banning guns will not prevent people from committing murder. They will just find other weapons to use. A gun is 'faster and easier', sure, but, it is not the only option. If you know how to use a weapon properly, ANY weapon can be fast, easy and very dangerous. Just like if someone knows how to use their hands and feet in a fight. They will be more dangerous than a person who doesn't know how to be quick and accurate.

Let's also think about illegal drugs. How's that holding out? Oh, right, people are still obtaining drugs and ODing on them.

I totally understand the way people look at guns. I don't think it is by any means a far fetched conclusion, but, IMO, people always jump to that conclusion without ever thinking of the full situation.

In pretty much all of the examples I gave, those people were mentally ill.

Weapons don't kill people. You need someone with a problem to use those weapons maliciously.

The man who killed those kids yesterday suffered from multiple personality disorder.

I don't give a shit how 'innocent' your mental illness is. This guy could have been a real nice guy as Adam, but a real tool as Johnny. Just because people saw nice guy Adam most of the time doesn't mean he is okay. Anyone with a mental illness should be in some kind of institution.

Using the nurse from the Kate Middleton prank, everyone loves to jump on the DJs, but they fail to look at this woman's mental state. A normal person like you and I would be embarrassed. Most people would. Anyone who actually goes off and kills themselves had something else going on. She already had issues and that prank was 'the last straw'.

All about mentalities, not weapons, and the stupid media flaunting these things for the next psycho to up the ante so he can get all over the news.

FACT: If you live in Kennesaw, GA, and you are a law-abiding citizen of legal age, then you are legally mandated to own a gun! That's right, ladies and gentlemen, there are towns in our country that make it mandatory to own a gun! Is it any coincidence that Kennesaw's crime rate has steadily declined since the mandatory gun law was enacted in 1982?

This tragedy is truthfully devastating to all those in that town and across the country. People are wrong when they say stricter gun laws are needed, because of the fact that many of the people who do these kinds of things tend to have no criminal records. This man in this instance got the gun from his mother, who legally bought it. If he had wanted to buy one he could have just done so and after they ran a background check they would have given it to him. If the laws were tightened he still would have walked away with a gun because his record was spotless

This is a sad situation and it should have many of us blessed to have the people we have in our lives, because they could be taken from us at any moment.

So tired of the LET'S BAN GUNS BECAUSE THEY KILL PEOPLE argument.

SO WHY DON'T WE BAN TOBACCO, WHICH KILLS MORE PEOPLE THAN GUNS?

Your argument is invalid, random person.

What do you guys mean by staged? Are you implying that you think that those children didn't actually die?! How could you?!

No, they mean that this guy was 'allowed' to go in to the school and shoot everyone up to try to press the issue of guns. People really died, that isn't what they meant.

It is basically the thought process that no one will do anything until something happens. Just like how people think 9/11 was staged as an excuse for the US to go to war. The US couldn't just randomly invade so they had to have a reason to.

No, meaning the massacre wasn't a man having a bad day. It was a plot to gain support. Sounds crazy right? Well it is. Lot of crazy shit goin down these days

They think it is staged to further restrict gun laws or for further political, social agendas.

They also believe 911 was a hoax, the moon landing was a hoax, and various other conspiracy theories.

Guns are notoriously easy to obtain...

I could go to the city and get a "throwaway" wit more than a few bodies on it for about $100, shoot my target, throw away the gun

(hence the term throwaways)

People kill people cuz...
