Who would like the nice 100% damage juggles back in MK9? I know the game hasn't came out yet and everything but just say that you could do infinite juggles with your favorite characters and all that. I loved doing Kung Lao's infinite in UMK3 on my snes. Even on Xbox360 arcade version i've done it too some players, And I just think juggles show alot of skill and dedication in the player; What do you think? post your thoughts about this.

Here is Kung Lao's infinite i'm talking about, and I would love to see it possible in MK9:

That would make online for this game terrible. it wouldnt be that interesting and the only focus would be to get that infinite juggle. that would get old really quick.

Infinites are great! You know what else is great for fighting games? Invincibilty, 1 hit kills, and of course monkey porn!
Allow me to address that I am being sarcastic before I get another neg rep spam storm =/

No but I mean, What if you could do a BIG combo at the end when the words "FINISH HIM" appears. And it don't stop you from hitting your opponent until you lose your combo. You know, like replace it for a fatality. Instead of doing a fatality , the game should let you do a combo. Kinda like a brutality but you make your own combo.

With all the EVO tourney talk I don't think infinite combos are going to be intentionally put in the game. I'm sure someone will find a way to create one.

Infinite combos mean a broken, unbalanced game.

And if MK intentionally puts them in the game, it doesn't deserve to be taken seriously as a fighter.

yea i can see how thatd mix things up a bit. but idk how they would add a infinite combo to that and make sure it isnt applied to normal gameplay.

But I mean, you know what i'm trying to say right? maybe make it so that you can only do it if you save up your whole X-ray BAR. That way you can show off a big combo at the end when you finish your opponent. And it do kinda cost the player to not use any X-rays at all. just to do the cool combo at the end. Well idk but that's pretty much all I can think of.

I don't know about infinites, but they seem to have something like that. In Mileena's combo video she does a ridiculously long juggle string, utilizing some of the special versions of her moves.

You are 250% wrong there. Get educated, doc.

UMK3, which isnt broken nor unbalanced has infinites. Are they banned in tourney play? no. Do they ruin the game? no.

Point is, every single infinite in the game requires pure skill, great timing and are completely 100% avoidable. Its very very uncommon to see a full or even partial infinite performed in any kind of high level play. why? because the players are both usually smart enough to avoid being caught in one. You get caught, too bad.

Also, watch how you interpret what is broken, and what infinites mean in gameplay. MKA was chock full of stupid infinites due to the game being a poorly made piece of shit. That is completely different than in a game like UMK3.

whne they start doing that to me, i quit on the spot.
that is simple UNFAIR. i agree with Cl2imson. Should not be allowed !

depends in what game. Again, garbage like....oh say....3d MK's it doesnt matter. The games are poorly made. That shit is wrong.

In UMk3, or even Mk2, your a fool for quitting because you shouldnt let yourself get caught in. No ones fault but yours for letting it happen.

Did someone hack Tim's account? :p It's not broken, but it's far from being a balanced game. But play a game for 16 years, and eventually it'll be a pure test of skill since every nuance is figured out.

Most of UMK3's infinites are of course well known to be impractical and just look great in combo vids. Regardless, ideally, a game should never ever had infinites even if they're exploits that require some skill. Lots of examples to note across the genre.

come on now, top 10-12 characters have been used to win tourneys over the last 3-4 years at least, not just 2 or 3 like say, vanilla SF4 had. its a lot more balanced than what most people think.

No argument there if you're establishing an argument about its viability for decent competition compared to more mainstream titles. UMK3 is perfectly fine but I personally can't call a game balanced unless you can pick ANY character of your choice in the roster and win. In regards to SFIV, I've said it before, and I'll say it again, its (and SSFIV) popularity had more to do with the shock factor of a dormant franchise making a comeback after so many years than the quality of it.

In spite of balance issues, or lack thereof, that just doesn't add or take away from competitive viability of enjoyment.

I'm honestly not worried about MK9 at all at this point.
