Kung Lao Revealed!

You guys are so pessimistic NRS are definitely not going to get him back in a cheap way, he is an icon. A cutscene with the others being freed from Quan Chi is okay, but Kung Lao is a MAJOR key element since he has ties with Raiden and Liu Kang, same with Kitana, and these are the only two characters that I would understand returning

Kung Lao isn't THAT major. They can easily do a game without him.
 
I wonder how the storyline with Kung Lao and Goro will work out? In the original timeline, Kung Lao anted to kill Goro for killing the Great Kung Lao and end up making a peace treaty with Goro at the end of MK4.
 
I don't get the negative reaction, does anyone even know the context of his return? why not wait until more about the story is known?
 
if he had his neck broken, and NRS have been saying this is fresh, new, next gen, so many new characters, we killed off so mny in the story to inject new blood, and wanted to follow the story of the retelling and have it make sense, there IS NO CONTEXT for his return he DIED....any explanation will be pathetic.

Someone like Liu Kang I could understand because he died being Champion of MK, and he's a must-have MK character for just about any MK game along with Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Raiden.

The majority most likely want returning characters, not new ones. The forums are usually filled with hardcore fans, who want more than drastic changes.

The fact is, less than half are going to be MK9, so everyone needs to calm the hell down.

So because 1 or 2 dead characters are returning, that suddenly equates to the entire half of the roster who were killed? That suddenly means MKX is no longer fresh? It seems as though you want MKX to be an entirely NEW game with Scorpion and Sub Zero being the additional extras from MK.

A lot of you are assuming Kung Lao is some how the same person aswell -- how many times has it been said that Quan Chi will have certain minions

Exactly. All this talk about floodgates opening for more people to demand characters makes no sense. The fact is Kung Lao was one of the most iconic out of all the dead characters, I doubt they will choose Stryker over him.

Finally! Someone who gets it! They will definitely show us in Kung Lao's reveal trailer why they chose him over the rest of the dead, or if he doesn't get a trailer then in game. Sick and tired of people going oh they're gonna revive everyone. Only 2 characters I see coming back are Lao and Kitana.

A few of you guys seem to be somewhat overzealous about this game, on both sides of the whole "should or shouldn't dead characters return. You are overreacting. Mortal Kombat is just a game! There's no need to go berserk over a character reveal like this. It's alright to be passionate about something you like, but try and be reasonable. It's not life-changing stuff that's happening here. However, if you feel it is, then maybe you are too passionate about Mortal Kombat and needs to go get something more out of life. Make it a New Years resolution, if you will.

We get a magazine info tomorrow and possibly a reveal. Not only that but we also have the comic series beginning next week.
And in the very next week we have a live stream .

Yes, it truly is nice to finally get some more news. Hopefully it will be in an even pace from now on. 2 months without any news at all is just atrocious marketing.

True, its just worth pointing out that MK is a business, and they will make business decisions regardless of what anyone in here thinks.
