Kung Lao Revealed!

First Kano, now Lao. Potentially Johnny, Shang, Kenshi and Jax as well. What the hell is this, some sort of Mortal Kombat Retirement Home?

Having older versions and descendants is a neat way to take advantage of the new timespan, but it can get REALLY tacky if abused. I hope NRS has the good sense of keeping things feeling subtle.
 
Seriously, NRS you are a fvcking JOKE! Now you entire story, the death, the sacrifices in mk9 MEAN NOTHING! You have no balls, no guts, no originality, you continue to cave to the demands of retarded fan boys....Kung loa really?!?!?

The majority of people wanted a new character, I mean seriously? KL?! HE DIED! khan killed him....I cannot express how pissed off I am, it just completely cheapens the franchise.... How on earth are you going to explain his return? Like commander said every idiot fan boy is gunna demand all the old ones back no....this is pathetic, mkx? next gen? Bullshit, morel like mk rehashed x 10000

So what were gunna get all mk9s cast back with only 4 new players? Fvck off boon your a joke!
 
Haha I lnew Ellechbura wasn't gonna be happy about this 😂. I'm only interested in that new arena tbh. But with the variations maybe KL won't have so many universal abilities.. I and curious to see what new abalities he'd have because he already has a lot of new stuff in MK9 it seems.
 
Maybe you guys need to wait until the game hits the shelves before you start b#%ching about Kung Lao being back. Give NRS a chance to provide an explanation. Old man Lao looks/sounds like a beast. Can't wait for the trailer.
 
only explanation i will accept is that he is the great kl...I mean, explain it how? All boon and co did was go on an on about how its a new mk a nw generation, we killed off half the cast to allow fresh blood....And then we get KL....Who was killed off to allow fresh blood?

I makes mk9s story void, and like i said meaningless...Its utterly stupid, and beyond all sense of reason....Were are all the new fighters? This piece of shit has now taken up a main roster spot, so that means actually surviving people relevant to the story are now at risk....Reptile, baraka, mileena and ermac...All for a bland OP online spammers dream....FVK that...

What was the point in his death? What was the point in retelling mk with mk9? only to throw this filth back at us? Get some balls NRS!

All the statements, "this is next gen, new fighters descendants, new story, killed off half the cast to inject new blood, we dont wann go stale" Meaning nothing.....

Introducing KL is as stale as you can get....

You know, you are right IMO.

Look how good it is. A new generation of fighters, and those who will witness this generation are those who survived a massacre and will build a legacy. Raiden, who is a protagonist and a god; Scorpion, who finds other things to do (I hope) and try to find peace; Sub-Zero, Bi-Han/Kuai Liang back to lead the Lin Kuei and maybe other purposes of bigger plot; Kano, a surviving villain; Quan Chi and an army of revenants; probally Johnny and Sonya, survivors; probally Liu Kang; new characters with VERY interesting story.

This is a new generation.

But I still can't imagine how they put Kung Lao on this. Seriously. I think he is the door to abuse this.

I really REALLY hope they have this good sense. And I will wait for this. I will just settle my disappointment when I hear and say "oh c'mon...".
 
When MK9 was announced, I was like a young kid on Christmas, I was so god damn excited. The year long wait for that game was probably the longest year I have ever experienced in my life. the few weeks leading to release felt like a lifetime. I just cannot express how excited I was about that game.

Here we are about 3 and a half months before the release of MKX and my excitement and hype for this game is actually going down.

This is the most disappointed I have been so far for these character reveals. They hype this game up as being new and the next generation of MK yet they keep revealing all of these old characters. I honestly haven't cared about a single one of them. The new fighters is what really got me hyped when they first announced this game. Why on earth arent they revealing them? Kung Lao? Are you kidding me?

Oh well, at least challenge tower is back. I guess that is something to be excited about.

At this point, I can only hope that they are getting all the old characters out of the way first, so the months leading to release will be nothing but new characters

Edit: and yeah ill be that guy also. We need more female characters. Having 6 or so in a roster with 30+ characters in 2015 is inexcusable
 
I love how people are freaking out over this. People forget that characters died before in MK and came back. I admit that I was not expecting Kung Lao coming back, but now I'm hype up to see what they will do with him. At least people can shut up about the dead MK9 fighters not coming back. I hope Kung Lao is the only dead MK9 fighting coming back. I want the other returning characters be the ones who didn't die in MK9 (Reptile) and a few from MK4 - MKA.
 
yah, and not only that, it cheapens the story sooooo much..Why did so and so survive and so and so die if it all means nothing, only to revive the dead to appease neckbearded fan boys....this is why mk died years back, it became stale....

this game has been sold as a new exciting thing, new generation, new fighters, new, new, new, we wont rehash this, its will be fresh blah blah.....Then kung lao....Really?

this is what I dont get...in order for a story to progress, and stay exciting, it needs to progress...not regress....Making deaths mean nothing, means the story means nothing....It was ok for them to come back in the days before we had a story mode...Because no one really knew the ending....other then ohh LK won and all are safe.... with mk9 we got a story.....we know who died, who lived....we got the rehash of the trilogy...Why do you people not want the game to progress, why do you constantly wand the trilogy cast? the dead should stay dead, the idiotic premise NRS have about it meaning nothing is pathetic....

I was super hyped for this mk as it was the first mk since deception to make new characters...and now...the roster is just a rehash...GG NRS....Im seriously unhyped for this now...Whats next strker and jax? ppffffttt

Why don't YOU play against a tournament caliber Kung Lao and see how many fights YOU end up winning?! You'll be lucky to score a couple of pixels worth of block damage!

yet again, your logic, your response means nothing....what has my disappointment to a newly revealed character, that has no place in the game after being killed, got to do with me winning a match?

I cannot work out if your just this really bad troll, or a neckbearded slayer fan, with aspergers who hates women....:/

When human Sub-Zero returned, i was like "OK, he is a key character, fans didn't like his transformation into cyborg, it's understandable why NRS turned him back into human"
When Kano was revealed i was like "OK 1 older looking villain and 1 older looking hero (Cage or Liu) will be ok and reasonable for the story"
But now, Kung Lao abuse my older characters limits, he abuse my resurrected character limits, and it looks like he is still a god tier, so he break the game balance as well. Why he returned is beyound me. I really hope at least Kabal & Cyrax stay dead.

So, which one is it?
Do you want people to shut up about dead characters coming back, or not?

That said, I do share the sentiment in hoping that Kung Lao is the only dead character coming back, but NRS opened up the floodgates with Kung Lao, and they have only themselves to blame for all the "Herp, derp. Bring back ___________" Twitter harassment that they are going to recieve from every fan that wants their favorite dead character in MKX.

I really wish that NRS would have stuck to their guns, and kept the dead characters dead, rather than giving into every comaint of "Waaaaaaaah, ____________ isn't in."
Bringing the dead right back in the next game just cheapens the MK9 story and makes it feel worthless, and I just find it hilarious how people (not you in specific) want the MK series to progress yet they want to see the same shit, game after game.
It's this same dumb shit mentality that sunk the series in the 3D era.
