Konfirmed Kharacters for Mortal Kombat (2011) (some spoilers)

Re: Konfirmed Kharacters for Mortal Kombat (2011)

A robot Sheeva could possibly make me like the character. But no promises.

Re: Konfirmed Kharacters for Mortal Kombat (2011)

So, you have no objection to Stryker being in the series, right?
Every time someone pines for any of the post-UMK3 fighters I cut myself in the hopes that Stryker AND Sheeva will be on the select screen instead.
A robot Sheeva could possibly make me like the character. But no promises.
Bahahahaha. THAT WOULD BE EPIC.

Re: Konfirmed Kharacters for Mortal Kombat (2011)

interesting, but i notice altot of you on this forum think that one or the other will happen. like what if smoke and sub zero both get caught? (it would suck ass that way), or what if they both get away? what if someone completly different gets turned into a cyborg? like not a ninja. (AND NOT JAX!) i cant just count on one or the other to happen, im shure someone would like a change in that whole cyborg thing. like were all expecting.

I actually would like Lil'-Zero being a robot, because we already have a regular one, so it couldn't hurt. Smoke I don't care either way... I got my robot in Sektor nice and confirmed. But yeah, you never know... Kabal may make it and if he still got attacked by Kahns squad he can be turned into a cyborg to survive instead of using a respirator. Or even have Sindel brought back from the dead in cyborg form... so many possibilites. I just can't wait.

Re: Konfirmed Kharacters for Mortal Kombat (2011)

I don't understand why there is so much hate for Sheeva? I think she's brutal in Trilogy and Armageddon. I'm just hoping that all characters are from the first three games, please no one post-trilogy. With Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Johnny Cage, Sektor, Nightwolf, Kung Lao, Reptile, Raiden, and Mileena being confirmed, this game already seems promising. I don't want to see Bo'Rai'Cho or Shujinko EVER AGAIN, please anyone but them. haha

I agree Bo'Rai'Cho, Shujinko, Drahmin, Hsu Hao, Mavado, Meat, Mokop i can live without ever seeing in the game again!

shujinko was a failed character i think. his whole timeline thing on deception was messed up and he didnt have his own moves. drahmin wasnt all that great. he wasnt a very believable character. the rest of the characters you mentioned are a pile of crap.
what is everyones problem with post trilogy characters? there were a few good new characters in mk4 and a few past mk4. oh i forgot, nobody likes mk4. why am i even saying this.
i wonder if some people on this forum even like mk at all. we dont want every mk to be mk2 or umk3.
this mk MIGHT be another mk trilogy. it could have some different characters. its possible. do you really think there gunna just do what your expecting 100%? theres still lots of time for them to add stuff or change things. its not out till what, march. for all we know they could add another row in the character select screen. who knows. mabey some post mk trilogy characters will be hidden characters.
one more thing. if everyone is saying that characters in the backgrounds wont be playable characters, then why is shang tsung and kitana in the background in different stages? im shure them two will be playable.

Re: Konfirmed Kharacters for Mortal Kombat (2011)

Most of them, from a fighting standpoint, either sucked or were simply clones of UMK3 characters. Tanya was essentially a clone of Mileena, Reiko was Ermac, Shinnok was Shang Stung, etc. The transition to 3D ruined the gameplay in so many ways, so since the post-UMK3 characters were associated with this transition, I have even more disdain for them.

Oh, and MKT doesn't even exist to me. It was too sloppy to be taken seriously.

Along with them, Dairou, Hotaru, Darrius, and Kobra can go away too and never come back.

Re: Konfirmed Kharacters for Mortal Kombat (2011)

So I guess everyone can agree that having Kenshi as a possible playable character is not a bad thing? He is in one of the backgrounds (Pit II).

No Kenshi. Give me ERMAC! Their moves are to similar to have both and not knocking Kenshi but if I was choosing I would go Ermac every time.

Re: Konfirmed Kharacters for Mortal Kombat (2011)

Actually, I was mixing Reiko and Kenshi up, too. Kenshi is simply a re-skinned Ermac (telekinetic slam, fireball), so no, I don't want him in the game. Reiko is a re-skinned Noob (teleport throw), so he can get lost, too.

And I wouldn't take background cameos as evidence of the characters being in the game.

True. Personally I'd like to see Ermac get a taste of his own medicine in 2D gameplay glory. The sheer thought of tele-slaming ermac and making him look like a complete weakling would be a sight to behold.

On another note, I would not mind to see Quan Chi added into MK9. Maybe Fujin, but he wasn't that cool of character in mk4/ gold IMO. All other characters post-mk4 can take a LONG vacation.

Re: Konfirmed Kharacters for Mortal Kombat (2011)

I'll take Mavado over Kabal any day. Kabal is a guy in a Janitor's uniform, and a second-rate Predator mask.

Reiko is a re-skinned Noob (teleport throw), so he can get lost, too.

Sharing one move with another character doesn't mean he's a re-skinned knock-off. As a fighter/character, Reiko kicks the living crap out of Noob, who never served any real significant purpose.

In short, it's because they weren't in 2D, and weren't portrayed by actors. Had they been a bunch of pallet swipes in 2D, everyone would hail them as the best characters ever. But, because they are in 3D, they are terrible and should be completely forgotten :bs:

Re: Konfirmed Kharacters for Mortal Kombat (2011)

I for one like Sheeva, Tanya, Shinnok, Quan Chi and some people post MK4 like Li Mei, Dairou and Onaga... but I can agree that gameplay did seem to drop starting with 4. DA wasn't too much fun but I liked Deception... Armageddon was fun for 3 days only because everybody was in it... That was sloppy. I think the gameplay of MK/DC was great but I didn't like the characters much at all. Ninja-wise, I'm a Reptile guy and was mad he wasn't in it. The Teen rating didn't help AT ALL.

In this game, I'd choose Ermac over Kenshi to be playable since this is about characters from MK1-UMK3. The same goes with me choosing Noob over Reiko. In the next game, I'll choose Kenshi and Reiko. About the background characters, yeah I doubt they will be playable maybe except for Kitana since she does have a new look.

That's another one who could be written off into oblivion. He's little more than a Kabal rip-off from a rival clan, and I don't think being a Grease reject is any better than a cleaning guy with a respirator.

Because some random general-turned-traitor is so much more significant than 1/2 of the most notorious duo of the series. Reiko has no history and no significance within the first 3 games, so he has no reason to make an appearance. Noob has been a part of the series since MKII, so he has plenty of reason to be there.

And considering MKT's Noob was obviously an unfinished project, who knows what other moves Reiko would've ripped off? Not to mention that the moves he didn't copy from Noob were lame.

Troll harder, ass.

Yeah i agree here too, but even thought i didnt care much for him, Kobra can stay, just cuz i want the Black Dragon to become a bigger and important faction.
Have Kabal lead Kira and Kobra and Kano lead his original gang, Jarek, Tasia, Tremor and No Face! (maybe give No Face to Kabal)

Originally, Noob Saibot was to be in Reiko's place on the character selection grid for Mortal Kombat 4. It was decided that the game had too many ninjas already, which was a subject of complaint from Mortal Kombat Trilogy, the game most immediately prior to Mortal Kombat 4. Also, Noob Saibot was described as being too hard to see in some stages as he blended into the background very easily, so he was renamed and made into Reiko. The outfit for Reiko was not changed from the outfit created for the Noob Saibot character model; only the character's head and spiked gauntlets were added. Home versions of Mortal Kombat 4 included Noob Saibot as a secret character, and it can clearly be seen that the character model is virtually identical to Reiko.

Hey Stryker do your home work before you shot off you mouth every now and then. This one is an easy one. He has The Brotherhood of Shadows logo on his back for god's sakes.
