Kombat pack 3 official thread

She's the Wonder Woman of MK. Physically powerful woman.

latest

She's incredibly strong, smart, has a sense of humor (something the original MK female didn't have), chooses to join the Special Forces on her own - going against what her father wanted for her (most of the other characters were all forced into the MK mess or did so for selfish reasons) and her gameplay is pretty f***ing great, imo.

The only issues I had with her in MKX was that her Fatalities were garbage and she was just a little too petite. Otherwise, she's one of the better new characters. She easily puts Kung Jin to shame. She's not so similar to her father that she feels repetitive (unlike Cassie who is just a mixture of Johnny Cage and Sonya). She's awesome. Simple as that.

She may not have an iconic ninja look or visually standout next to some of the other characters, but that doesn't make her "bland" or "worse than Mokap".

Agreed on all that except her costumes are too bland for my liking. I wasn't trash talking her as others were. I like her. The only complaint is her appearance. She could use some flare. Jax stands out as more of just a jar head.

Jacqui is pretty much one of my least liked characters in the MK universe. There's nothing about her I like.
But oh well, different strokes for different people. ^^

To play with- Jacqui is pretty good. I enjoy playing as her. But as a character, I find her incredibly bland, especially costume wise. She doesn't really stand out for anything apart from being Jax's daughter. She could be one of those characters that makes her debut and we never see again and it wouldn't bother me.

Ricochetmatt pretty much nailed all what did it for me to liking Jacqui.

She's really not that bad of a character. I found Jax to be more "bland" than her.

To make a comparison (though it is not perfect), I find Jacqui is the Frost to Jax's Sub-Zero.

This is NOT a perfect comparison, because the moves Jacqui has are NOT taken from Jax in the same way Frost's moves were taken from Sub-Zero. Yet, I make this comparison, because I feel that every single move she has could just as well have been given to Jax.

It's like NRS had 2 ideas for Jax, and instead of trying to balance those two ideas into one character, they instead split them up and made Jax the hard-hitting grappler while Jacqui became what Jax could potentially have been if NOT going the grappler way, but focused more on projectiles and zoning. And yet you can still see some aspects that Jax is about in Jacqui, such as with the hard punches in some of her special moves and such.

Jacqui is the Variaiton ideas they could not fit in with Jax and instead made it a new character. Kinda like how Frost was given the moves Sub-Zero could not fit into his arsenal in MKDA.

Again, it's not a perfect comparison, and I am sure alot of you disagree with me and will fight me to the very end of the world to disprove me on this, both for Jacqui and Frost fans, but that's how I feel about them.

for me Jacqui is an good character and a different direction for female characters overall in MKX although they could have done alot more with her design

also most of the other newcomers IMO heavily outshine her

I think jaquie doesn't fit mk. Yoi can replace jaquie with any man on earth and put shotgun on them and you will get the same result

In a series with morphing sorcerers that steals souls to keep young, undead revenging butt hurt ninjas, cyborgs, telekinetic swordsmen, a military brat who can take out a fallen elder god like it's nothing, zombies, four armed monsters, centaurs, shadow men, mutants, gods, beings, monks, and a Native American... Probably missing a few characters

You're saying things don't fit in this series?

You kind of prove his point tho with those examples. It's characters like the ones you mentioned that make Mortal Kombat so great. That's why so many people hate MK3 Stryker.

... Good point. Jacqui is kinda the new generation's version of Stryker.
Not necessarily a bad character, but in many's opinion, boring, bland and unfitting the world of MK.

That said, there's actually one thing I like about Jacqui! Her taste in men. :3

Cassie's not too far off in that respect.

Regardless of how differently she does playsfrom her parents (on a gameplay level), she really is a mix of them as far as astetics and abilities. Heck, she basically has one Sonya costume and one Johnny-ish costume.

But to be fair, and in my opinion, how can it be said that characters such as Cassie, Jacqui, and Stryker don't fit in MK? They've been there since the first two classics; Sonya and Jax.

My only problem with Jacqui is her lazy ass look, but it's a huge problem. It's like they took a generic background military goon and put it on the main roster. That's how terrible her costume design is. :bebored:

Honestly, the same goes for Sonya too, and Johnny. They all look boring as hell.

So, because Jacqui relies heavily on technology, she doesn't fit... despite that we have had Sonya and Jax in the series for a while?

Kay. That makes sense.
