Kitana Revealed!

I went ahead and designed what I want Kitana's alternate to be like. It's in the same style as her primary, but of course, an outfit fit for a princess. I added the gold armor because I love how NRS changed her color pallet from blue and silver to royal blue and gold - it suits her!

Being a fan of two sports teams that use the silver and blue, I can tell you for a fact that silver is a much better fit for blue than gold is. Gold goes better with purple.

Hell yeah! Curious about Kitana's mournful variation too. According to the journos that have played it, she gets Jade's staff AND glaive. Now, traditionally a glaive is just a bladed staff, but I don't see any blade on the glowing staff we've seen in that brief footage.

There are also projectiles, like giant shurikens, which are called throwing glaives. So maybe Kitana will still have her basic fan throw in the mournful variation but instead of a fan/fans, she throws the glaive?

I'm also super hype about seeing more of Reptile. Fingers crossed that he gets a tail in one variation! :P

I do want to see his full fatality though, regardless of who it's to.
 
So far the only I have a gripe about regarding Kitana is her hairdo, I'm not digging the hookah head hairdo. Why not just put her hair in a bun or a long braid or something?...whatever, it's not that big of an issue anyways. I love her new design, she looks like a dangerous weapon in human female form.

....But I bet her alt's going to be skimpy, with very little left to the imagination :p (giggity)

Cassie- Princess
Kitana- Your very Presence mocks me
Cassie- Sorry, did you just say kick my ass?

Do you guys sense prior tension between the 2. I mean Cassie seems to pretty much come off Respectful, while Kitana just brushes it off.
Do you think it is maybe she has no more non sense or maybe corrupted so to speak!

I think it's nothing more than trash talk. I mean, how else do you expect 2 kombatants on the same side of kombat to speak before beating the shit out of each other?

Most of the time, I would agree that blue and silver are a better combo. But the blue and gold work really nicely when it's a dark shade of blue like the shade Kitana is wearing in MKX. Silver with a shade of blue that dark wouldn't contrast enough.

I liked what the artist commented about "tone down".

It's not tone down for anybody complaining.

It's to turn realistic character's looks. As he said "put things where it should be".

Loved this mentality.
 
The alternate is literally the safest thing that they could have done. It's sexy, but not "skimpy." It's not trying to do too much style wise. And it is a throwback without looking EXACTLY like her MK2/MK3 outfit, and gaining some new elements like the markings on the shoulder and upper back. Looks pretty good in my opinion though.

And the necklace, of course. That necklace actually does a lot to complete the outfit.
