Is it true that XXXX is... [little spoilery]

Lmfao and smoke does have that girly hair, yea he does seem to love Sub. He even wanted to beat up on a woman(Jade)

None of the characters have been hinted at being gay in the slightest. Costumes mean so little given most of the MK universe is hammy and not in any way a reflection of real life. The closest thing to bisexual/gay we've ever gotten was D'Vorah's kiss.

Rain dresses no different than all the other Edenians we've seen so far. *shrugs*

How does he have "girly" hair? How does that make him gay? What does him wanting to beat up Jade have anything to do with his sexuality?

Yeah, that's what we gays are known for... beating women. XD

Rain is indeed fabulous though. ;P
But as for "none are hinted at being gay" I don't agree with. Check my last post about Smoke.

See, I find this an problematic. What's wrong with love and what does this have to do with sexuality? Smoke can love, and express his admiration for Sub-Zero, without finding him sexually attractive. In many cultures, it's quite normal for men to have close friendships. For some reason, North America has deemed men effeminate or weak when they express their emotions or show a close relationship with another male. Smoke cares for his childhood friend deeply. That's how I see it.

I've never thought of Rain being gay until I read these garbage threads. Thanks.

You're very welcome, sir.

There's nothing wrong with that.
What's wrong with him being gay though?

Nothing. There is just nothing that suggests he is straight, bisexual or gay. Smoke, like most of the cast, simply hasn't been developed enough. When MK develops more than 10% of their roster, we may no longer need to debate these topics.

There already is one. That's why this is all so funny. If you think for once second NRS isn't hinting at Rain being gay, I don't know what to tell you.

As for those of you saying crap like "What purpose would a gay character serve?" "Why would MK need a gay character" "Political correctness in MK? PFFT"

Yikes. Okay, so here's how it is. The hot second that NRS decided they wanted to flesh out the story and characters, everything was on the table. So to answer those questions : What purpose does a heterosexual character serve? Why does MK need a straight character? And it's not about political correctness. If you want to flesh out your characters, different sexualities are going to be a factor at some point. I mean, within ALL of the realms there aren't ANY gay people? Nah. That's hilariously stupid.

Some of you children are so ignorant and out of your minds, it's almost frightening.

This is why homosexuality needs to be talked about in schools. Sadly, ignorant children have got their ignorant parents to jump in and put an end to that. Depressing sh**. I can't believe in 2015 people STILL think being gay is a choice. lol

I honestly see nothing about Rain that makes me think he's gay. He doesn't show up on my Gaydar.

Exactly, so your theory is as legit as mine.

Hence why I stated "That's how I see it". We can theorize about the majority of the cast (which hardcore fans of most things often do), but until NRS takes the time to develop these characters, rather than just using them to progress the story, we simply will not know.

Also, since we're debating on the hypothetical sexuality of some of the roster, wouldn't Ermac be the most likely character to not be straight? I mean, he has thousands of souls, I assume more than a few are gay/bisexual, which means he's likely, at the very least, bisexual.

I think that's pefectly fine though. We don't need to know, because in the end, it isn't relevant. It's up for interpretation, so anyone can decide for themselves. ^^

Character development is always relevant to a story/franchise. That's how you become invested in characters and their involvement in the story.

I think it's quite hard to build lasting relationships into the MK story because of the violence. Nothing says "I love you" like tearing out your lovers spine, amirite?

Yes, that was not what I meant though. It was the characters' sexuality I meant wasn't relevant. Telling that Smoke is gay wouldn't really progress his character development, it would just be random info that we can't really use for anything, as it has no significance to his story... well, unless they want to make Smoke all about being in love with Subbie, but I wouldn't want that to be his focal point. I'm more interested in him being an enenra.

I would love for Smoke to be all about Subby, if they made him like Bulat in Akame ga Kill. Acts as a friend/big brother, and some times he starts hitting on the main character.

Smoke could be one of tbose girl gay guys, I've seen many videos of girl gay guys fighting women lol they don't care.
