There's no point. Just agree to disagree. You think MK should have a gay character. Others like myself don't because it adds nothing to the story.

That's actually a straw man. No one thinks they should or shouldn't; the argument is that it wouldn't be in any way wrong or incomprehensible if they did. The reaction you and a few others have towards a potential (fictional) MK character reflects on a larger societal problem that you have consistently enforced through your reactions and comments - every one of them is dripping with homophobic venom (culminating in telling someone to go kill themselves). That's why "agreeing to disagree" isn't an option. It's not acceptable for you to harbor those misguided, thoroughly debunked beliefs.

So, it is alright for you to campaign for a gay MK character but if I am against it, I am automatically homophobic? Stop acting like gays are victims and face the facts; everyone does not agree with your lifestyle.

I don't think it would hurt in any way if a character was gay. I mean, how would it possibly hurt? It's not like that character would run around in pink clothes and kissing every male thing in his way. He's just gay and that's all. I don't see the problem...

I'm getting the vibe that you don't understand what a straw man is. Again, who is "campaigning"? And no, no one is "automatically" homophobic, you've been conditioned through years of poor upbringing around the subject that has led you to keep a closed mind on the issue, despite all of the facts and anecdotes surrounding it that completely disproved your stance. Your homophobia is reflected in every one of your comments so far, but typically using "gay" as a pejorative and constantly having to affirm your heterosexuality is a pretty clear indicator that yes, you are indeed homophobic. So don't try and flip victimization here and get a persecution complex; if you don't believe homosexuals have been victimized then that is your first problem - you ignore the every day reality around you.

So, if his sexuality isn't going to effect the story at all, why does it even need to be mentioned? Answer that question for me.

I honestly have to wonder why you're so intense regarding this topic. It's in very bad taste. Reason being, you aren't presenting your argument properly. Your phrasing leads to people thinking you're being homophobic. And I'm pretty sure gay people face a lot of discrimination and prejudice. If you haven't experienced being in a minority of any sort, I don't think you can understand how difficult it might be for those that are.
At the end of the day you don't lose out on anything, if a character were to be gay, so I suggest you broaden your horizons.

Freedom of Speech doesn't prevent people from calling you out; that's their freedom of speech.

Why is ok for Sonya and Cage to be in a relationship? How does that affect the story?

So, my upbringing is reflected through my own choices and opinions as a man? I'm sorry to tell you this, sir, but what I say does not mean I was conditioned to believe anything. You don't know anything about me. What I express is the product of my own mind, not my upbringing or surroundings. I am far from homophobic. I've never heard that it was wrong to use the word "gay," especially considering the fact that many men identify as "gay." You're championing this "homosexuals should be in video games" cause and for what? Just because? You've refused to answer my question about what it would add to the game, which gives me the vibe that you know it would not add anything. Furthermore, you talk about victimization but can you really say that? I guess we're going to put gay "persecution" on the same level as African Americans being shot by police, refused service, and beaten in public, right? You can't even compare the two. As a Canadian from Thunder Bay, I have to say you're quite the silly person. Last but not least, Mortal Kombat is fictional. It is not real. People play it to get away from reality or the stress of their life. Why do you want to stick homosexuality into it?

A) Homosexual people ARE being denied services because they are gay; they are being denied marriage, services in certain establishments, being killed for being gay, and in general people being douches to them.

B) You have yet to answer why it would be detrimental to add a gay person in MK.

C) Why is it not ok for gay people to have an openly gay person when straight people have so many characters in the game already?





D) Don't even get me started on Canada. I live on the U.S. Canada border and you guys are a bunch of parasitic, passive aggressive s who would shrivel up and die if it wasn't for the U.S. giving you actual health care that doesn't take 6 months for a patient to see a doctor when they will die in 3 months. I've worked 3 years of retail with Canadians as half of the demograph.

Next time you come stateside, just realize: 1) I don't care about your damn penny. 2) Yes, I can tell your from Canada, Eh. 3) Stating "I'm from Canada and it takes me four hours to get here, don't you know" isn't going to allow a cashier/stockboy to get a product they don't have.

If they can make a good interesting character that happens to be gay, why not? It wouldn't be the center of the character's background but putting depth in to a character within a character driven game doesn't hurt.
 
This is absolutely weird as hell, the day Ed makes this happen is the day MK will go to shit.
Because people have different sexualities and preferences doesnt mean all of the sudden a character has to like the same gender, I mean im not complaining if there were a few lesbians in MK here and there, I know as a fact that "Frost" is a real lesbian but hmm dont think its ever going to happen guys. Go make a petition get 25 people to sign it and it will work as seen with Tanya & Khrome.. oh I mean Tremor lmao
