Is it a bad thing that this game borrows some from Injustice

I here that people say Erron plays similer as Harely Quien and Kung Jin to Green Arrow, personally I don't really see a problem but what do you guys think

It's natural progression. I expected them to keep things they liked from the Injustice dev cycle and carry them over. Ultimately, that game had more diversity in terms of being able to introduce movesets and styles that were previously unseen in MK.

I don't think they were too brash about it, either. For every opportunity they've had to treat MK as "the $eries they go back to because they have to", they've built and improved from IGAU.

To tell you the truth, Injustice started the whole thing of playing like MK, I mean, who else plays like MK (mechanics).

They take the best and add it. I'm cool with that.

I guess it depends on the person. For me, I played Injustice for about 2 weeks, then sold it to a friend, so I didn't really play with many of the characters. Because of that, Erron Black, Kung Jin, etc. feel fresh. But I understand that there are those that have played Injustice a lot more than I have and are looking for something new, so they're disappointed when they see MK characters with similar play styles.

Not a big deal to me, personally, and that's a safe assumption to make. Companies do it all the time, borrowing from previously made games/engines.

Every fighting game developer has similarities between their respective franchises. I always thought the only major difference between the mechanics of Tekken and Soul Caliber was that SC used weapons. And Capcom tends to do a lot of the same stuff cross-franchise as well. SF, Darkstalkers, and MvC all use really similar mechanics.

Basically - NRS has found a formula that seems to work for them, and it makes sense that they'll reuse portions of it across their different franchises.

I hope there is some difference, cause Injustice played very strage. Characters are too light and move too quickly. I like MK9's style and all Tekkens a thousand times over Injustice. But no way i'd want the turtles and heavy gameplay from MKDA-MK6.

Borrowed or not, both Injustice and MKX in my opinion have bland and bad UI (Health meter etc.). It was so much better in MK9.

I still don't understand why this forum hates Injustice so much.
Injustice isn't totally bad, decent with a friend but it doesn't have excitement or anything that would get you to play it as much as Street Fighter / Mortal Kombat or Tekken for instance.

The main gripes for me have been that back 2 block doesn't work that well since (as far as I remember) there's so many overheads, mix-ups etc. that gameplay in defence is 50/50 guessing. Also, Superheroes and villains aren't that exciting or interesting as playable characters, overall character balance wasn't that great, there's some things that are just something I dislike (wager / clash, whatever that thing was), zoning as gameplay type itself suffer from same problems than MK9 does and small details like UI, announcer stage transitions. But the most importantly like I said already: It's not that exciting to play.

Not even watch. SFIV and MK9 tournaments any day over Injustice's yawn fest.

I didn't play Injustice so I'm fine with them taking the best things from that game. I could see how it could bother someone who plays both games though.

some good things, some bad things

good things:
the environment maneuverability (swinging on trees etc) awesome!

bad things:
some characters having really fast scrappy light floaty combo chains that dont look like theyre doing any damage / un-satisfying hits and gameplay thats just a fast scrappy mess like a cat scathing and clawing erratically. (dvorah)
was mega exited for her at first but after seeing her injustice style fighting style it put me straight off.

environment weapons. every yin has its yang, as much as i love the environment traversing feature i cant stand enviroment weapons . hate it

Yeah Erron Black's slide and shoot move is identical to Harley Quinn's. Not a big deal though. I had a feeling they would reuse a lot of the animations. No need really to redo animations of they already have them.

I think it was BBBPL who mentioned that Injustice was kinda NRS' test ground to try off new things, and those that they think worked would naturally carry over to Mortal Kombat. It was always meant to happen, and I think it is completely alright.

When i saw Erron's gameplay i instantly thought about Harley and Deadstroke, for me he is not original/interesting character so i don't like him.
I mean not as a character, he COULD be very fun to play with and everything, but it looks like NRS just didn't care and did their usual copy-paste thing.
