INJUSTICE will have less than 24 playable characters

There are 9 confirmed characters, so assuming a max of 23 characters, I would say that leaves us with 11-13 unknown characters on the initial roster

No more than 14

Lol huehuehuehuehue, are they actually serious?

I have a hunch this game will fail :p

So tired of you bashing this game when you have no idea what you're talking about.
Its a new game with a new style, the smaller amount of characters the easier it is to balance for them since its unfamiliar ground (no block button, gimmick buttons and for the first time in a fighting game made by the MK team; no projectiles.) Remember that the environments will also come into play when balancing so that just adds a whole new layer of hurdles.

MK9 only had 26 starting characters on the roster. Thats only 3 less so quit your whining.

No problem, it's quality over quantity. How many characters does Skull Girls have? How many does Persona 4 AE have? 24 isn't bad at all.

I still feel these games are just as much about fanservice than award-winning gameplay. If they get a licence they should use it to the max.

Ofcourse 24 is still plenty and if the stages and story have lots of cameos there's probably nothing to worry about. Still, I'd never ask for Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter to have 100 characters while I could easily list 100 characters that should be in this game, 97 of them being Batman characters.

this is the first game of the Injustice series. Mortal Kombat (1992) had 7 playable characters. At one point one of its games had 50 or so fighters

I don't care how many they have, I only care if one is named Edward and dresses in green with question marks.

"No projectiles"? No? I mean... Batman! BATMAN!! With his friggin batarangs! Other characters with projectiles would be: Nightwing (air projectiles), Cyborg, Harley Quinn.... sort of, Wonder Woman (although her "projectile" is rather odd. It's her lasso with a knife on the tip) etc. D:

Yeah, I know I know... this thread is super old, but whatever ;D

And yeah, this "less than 24 characters" stuff is bull. I'm pretty sure there will be 24 characters plus DLC Stuff (probably 4-6). That's the standard for high budget fighting games nowadays.

What I was saying was this is the MK team's first game where there are characters with no projectiles (Flash, Soloman and presumably others to come)

I'm good with Harley Quinn and Catwoman. I would love it is The Huntress made it though. Poison Ivy and Black Canary are good additions too. I hope a preview of MK10 shows up right after this game is released in the market btw.

Twenty or so characters is a good roster size for any fighting game, but some people will never be satisfied. Alas, I shouldn't be surprised since a lot of video games are increasing their assets and their audience have grown to expect it.

But that's.... also wrong D: Flash, Wonder Woman, Catwoman in MKvsDC and every gun wielding character (a gunshot doesn't count as a projectile, as it is instant hit) like Deathstroke, Stryker etc. don't use projectiles.

Ah, you know what? Fu** that. I know what you meant XD The MK franchise is dominated by projectile throwing characters.

Wonder Woman used a lasso that connected fairly far and Cat Woman used a whip.
Instant projectiles don't matter in MK because there is no projectile trading.

You count a lasso and a whip as a projectile? Srsly... I don't agree on that. The lasso is more like a grab and the whip is just a special (projectile for me is a flying object which can be seen and thus avoided). But as I've already said, I know what you meant. I agree that, for the most part, it's unfamiliar ground for NRS (you've already mentioned the gimmick button and back to block). But no experience with non-projectile characters? Nah. Sheeva is another example for a non-projectile user. And I also think that they can learn a lot from other fighters in that matter. Soooooo... I see no problem here. And above all: who says there won't be a projectile overkill in Injustice?
