Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition Announced

Of course this was going to happen. I can't help but laugh at the people who thought there were going to be more DLC characters.

And as much as people may not like this, but Injustice is more balanced than MK ever was. Hopefully they get the balance right with MK10 but I doubt it.

I'm losing faith in NRS. 2 major titles have went through hell to get "balanced" and they're not doing a great job at it. I understand it's difficult to balance a fighting game that has monsters and magic and superheroes , but NRS doesn't seem to have a grip on it at all. Injustice had limitless potential and IMO was executed poorly. If MK10 is absolutely amazing then I'll try it. Otherwise I think I'll pass on the rest of the NRS games.

True. But I can live with it just for MK10 IF NRS pulls it out very well with these characters and the post-MK3 characters (especially Tanya). But of course, having my favorite deceased characters as playables would totally be AWESOME!

In topic:
This Injustice may be my B-Day gift for myself for PS3 or PS4.

The only character that I use in MK9, that didn't die, is Rain.
Rain didn't die because he was DLC.

Sub-Zero, Nightwolf and Shang Tsung are all dead.

That MK10 storyline need some retconning, to at least bring some people back from the dead (SZ, Liu Kang and maybe Kitana).
As much as I would like to see Havik, Reiko, Kenshi, Fujin and Tanya in MK10, those 5 characters alone aren't enough to keep me playing it for years to come, like MK9 has.

You can't know if MK10 will be amazing to you unless you play it yourself, though.

Also, MK9 was better balanced after the patch.
The only thing that was still crappy was the online server, and they fixed that and got better online servers in Injustice.
They are getting better, as they go along, IMO.

No one ever dies permanently in MK. Not even Hsu Hao.

That's when they were Midway.
We don't know if that stigma will continue with MK, now that they are NRS and bought out by WB.

Why is that? It made sense for them to do 2 more since they not only showed up Black Canary concept art, but also the poll showing Static Shock winning.

The balance on this game was really good quite honestly. Low tiers always suffer in fighters that involve specials. Dan Hibiki in SSF4 is one example of that. People are not giving NRS the credit of the balance. They put in a lot of time balancing out. A Bane made top 8 in Injustice in a recent tournament, a Shazam won recently from GGA. Some people are to fixated on balance. VF is really balance but that shit is boring as hell.

The thing on Black Canary concept art was there were bunch of characters who had concept art. Was mainly for the Injustice iOS app. I mean when they stop saying anything about Injustice news for quite some time and they make a tweet about DLC that contains skins and not mention any DLC characters you know they are not going to make anymore characters....though I wished there were 2 more DLC characters. We now will look at a silly looking select screen.

MrBlack, just stop. You're feuding with the most dense person on this site.
He'll keep twisting your words and ignoring your point until you give up

I think this would be GREAT... If they included Tag-Team mode in this Ultimate Edition! It could still work with the health bar system. Both fighters would share the same armor health bar, but after that, they have their own red health bar each to use

I don't think they'll do it for the Ultimate Edition, but maybe for MK10.
Tag Team looked so promising in MK9, but unfortunately the Pro FG community deemed it too unbalanced, and hence the rest of the community fell out of it.
I still play Tag Team mode in MK9.

I love Tag-Team... I cant really play fighting games without Tag..... except for Injustice and MK1-UMK3. Well UMK3 does have 2-on-2 Kombat... but not in Arcade mode... Anywaysssssssssssssssss... I loved Tag-Team in MK9! It was fu**in' AWESOMEEEEEEE!!!!

WOW!
Someone else who plays MK9 Tag Mode regularly?

Yeah I love Tag more than 1-vs-1 mode, partially because I can still combo SZ's ground freeze, whereas the patch nerfed that move to hell.
It's a slow start-up move to begin with, so it sucks that it got nerfed. :|

Actually I havent played MK9 since day one of Tekken Tag 2's release... infact, I probably forgot every ones combo... except for Sub-Zeros awesome one.... oh and Lui Kangs nice one, both ending with an X-ray!

:P

When MK9 was released, there was much more riding on it than just balancing issues. MK was on a serious decline quality-wise thanks to Midway's insatiable need to get "a" MK-branded (ie not just a strict fighter) game out the door ASAP. It seemed in the past every time I turned around, some new MK-branded game was being thrown out there. Ed Boon and his team were working overtime and then some to meet Midway's "needs".

WB saw the potential and snapped up the franchise, but allowed the team two essential things Midway never did: time and resources to make the best game possible. MK9, while not perfect, is the best iteration of MK in its twenty year history. Its characters, its story, its fighting mechanics, graphics, audio, etc were a lavish display by NRS showcasing their own love and respect for the franchise as well as a nod to the loyal fan base.

I say this as a man who literally grew up with MK; I'm old enough to have been lucky to play MK1, MK2, MK3/UMK3, and MK4 in the arcades and followed the series onto home consoles. I am a massively unapologetic fan, but I'm not blinded. As much love and respect I have for MK and NRS, I'm also not ashamed to be critical of them too.

MK9 was far better balanced than any other MK game, but yeah, it could have used a few more nips and tucks before calling it a day.

Injustice: Gods Among Us arrived off the coat tails of MK9's success. IGAU had a lot to live up to, but yet it didn't, as DC Comics and its characters never really had their own fighting game (MK vs DC doesn't really count per sé). IGAU was, by the long and short, a great attempt at creating a different fighting game with beloved and popular comic book characters.

Is IGAU perfect? No, it's not, even though it seems more balanced than I expected it to be, it suffers from a fair amount of flaws, but given what IGAU had to live up to, I think it was a good game.

The one thing I wish NRS would balance better, aside gameplay, is alternate skins/costumes. In both MK9 and IGAU, some characters were incredibly favored and others were horrifically neglected.

But I thought the game took no skill? You just contradicted your own statement.

At the end of the day it doesn't take a whole lot of brain power/skill to rely heavily on back+3 and send someone off into another area causing 1/3 of damage nor just constantly pick up objects and whip at your opponent causing a decent amount of damage. Lastly, some characters are incredibly easy to rapidly fire off projectiles (MK suffered from this as well, to be fair) to just pin people on the other side of the screen.

That said, the skill inherent is learning how to get around that and in for the proverbial kill. Going back to my previous post, I learned (to use your own verbiage, "level up") Catwoman, Green Lantern, and Aquaman to get around these issues with relative success. On the whole though, the general populace won't do this as it's far easier to exploit techniques that are built into the game, that, wait for it...take little to no skill all for a silly win.

When did I attack you for not liking the game? Like I said in my previous post, this game was fun but I'm ready to move on.

Pretty much every post. Not directly maybe, but the way you come across. No matter how I present my argument(s), you retort with some obnoxious comment without, evidently, reading my comments all the way through. You latch onto one or two things you disagree with and run with it while sticking your fingers in your ears.

I just grow tired of ignorant people bashing this game simply because they can't find succes. This game doesn't follow the same fundamental rules as SSF4 or MK. So what! Either level up or quit. You don't like the game? Fine. But don't sh#t on the community by saying this game takes little skill.

"Everyone who plays Injustice has no skill and the game sucks!"

Is that what you need to hear word-for-word? If so, there you go. I'm not going to regurgitate what I and others have said about the flaws in IGAU's gameplay because it's going to fall on deaf ears anyway. It's easier to tell you what you want/need to hear instead of having a constructive dialogue.

And also bring back Jade.

I like Sindel but I think it's time to give her title as queen to her daughter Kitana.

With Jade and Kitana alive, Edenia should be restored again.

Well MK9 being more balanced than any other MK game is subjective, but I will say that MK9 is the most fun MK game I have played but the balance is still kind of there.

I agree with some of the things you have said, but keep in mind no game is perfect. All games have their flaws but at the same time still have the good things about them. Me being a huge MK fan im not more of a DC fan. I prefer MK I know a lot of us here do. Though we shouldn't compare the games to each other like Injustice to MK, or MK to SF. They are all different and unique.

And you are right Injustice is by no means a perfect game but as I said no game really is. All have their pros and cons. I loved MK9 but my only problem which I hated is how some of the stuff worked. And in Injustice Is a really good game but one thing I hate is how a lot of moves are super safe.

And I agree. Even though I like having Superman costumes, I think they should have gave a fair amount of character skins to the other characters who didn't have one. Seemed the ones who got the most skins were Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, The Joker, and The Flash. The rest didn't get any. They should had did what Capcom does with their fighters. Make a whole costume pack for each character.

That what I hated about MK9 is they favored the Ninja characters getting more skins. I wanted a Liu Kang one but characters like Smoke, Sektor, etc. Got more skins but probably because they are much easier but still it could had been done.
