Injustice confirmed characters

I just added the likely ones there.

Lex and Cold (probably, could have been Mr Freeze too) were in the first intro video along with playable characters. I'd say it's unlikely they aren't playable, why would they just be randomly added there? It's pretty likely the interviewed dev was going to say Aquaman, by far the biggest name starting with A.

Joker is on the background of one stage, and I think you mean Doomsday's appearance in background too. I wouldn't say that makes them likely to be playable. If anything I'd guess that because they are featured and cameoed it makes them less likely to be playable, especially Doomsday who appears as himself. All the guys who appear in the backgrounds of MvC or MK9 are unplayable.

The game isn't out yet they can still move things around just cuz Doomsday is in the back ground doesn't mean he will be there when the game ships it would be a waste to build that model and not use it unless they tie him to the interactive environment gimmick.

Skarlet, Kitana, Kenshi all background charachters in MK9.....
 
^ Also, Rain was a background character in some of the MK9 trailers too

As a matter of fact he didn't even have a new model, he still had his Armageddon look
 
Although it's only theoretical, but I think it's between either Darkseid or Brainiac as the final boss for this game. I know it's weird, but the bosses for this game are Superman's enemies, as they are very powerful. If Brainiac does appear in the end, I hope the VA from the animated series and DCUO returns, and they should have a imminent countdown to Earth's destruction when fighting Brainiac, as you can't defeat before time runs out, not only you'll lose the match, but Earth will be destroyed as Brainiac's ship leaves and you can't even continue from there (you gotta start the ladder all over from the bottom).

If Darkseid, then the fight should be in his throne room in Apokalips. Unlike the Brainiac fight, you can continue where you lost, but Darksied's Omega Beam will be do like 60%-65% damage while his super does like 80%-90% damage.
 
Scarlet and Kenshi being DLC. I forgot about Kitana but she is more like a palette swap prisoner instead of unique. It could be that Lex or Cold don't make it into the game afterall but atleast they seem to be in plans.

Adding Doomsday back there would be pretty weird unless he plays into stage hazards. But I'd love stage cameos so he could be there anyway, perhaps playing into the story. I don't think making character models for background is waste, animating the moves and balancing character is the difficult part. I really hope there are more than 1 or 2 background cameos, from characters that aren't playable.

The thing is though that Lex and Cap Cold (if it's Cold) are put in level with the playable characters. None of the playable characters so far seem to appear in any of the backgrounds, so Joker and Doomsday aren't in level with the playables IMO.

But if we were to assume Joker and Doomsday are playable then we'd already knew 14 playable characters. Only 10 left. I know people are going to shout that nothing is confirmed but I like speculation. In best (or worst) case scenario we would already know 14/24.

I really hope Darkseid (and believe) isn't the final boss. This game has enough issues seperating itself from MK and MKvsDC as it is. Especially I'd hate if the final boss did 80-90% of damage with a cheap attack, especially if he also has lots of health. I would like the boss to be super fast and agile while having only moderate amount of health. But I think Brainiac is the big boss and he will be a tad better than the playable characters in all areas, perhaps coupled with "End of the World" timer.
 
I'm not counting Lex out since the story clearly has a political aspect to it - I would like to see him place as a sub boss like Shang Tsung.

Doomsday may not be playable but I could see him filling a role like Goro and Kintaro (Darkseid being Kintaro as they are evenly matched) to top it off Braniac could be the top boss.

Cap Cold could be Mr. Freeze so I'm not even going to try to crack that one.
 
Shang Tsung is playable, so I agree there. Lex could be a sub-boss but also be playable.

Doomsday could be an unplayable boss, I'm not arguing that. It would even make some sense that Doomsday is wandering in the Fortress and eventually you encounter him again. But he is so OP boss it's not even fun. There could be others like that too. I could see Doomsday and Bane/Killer Croc being variants - Doomsday against Batman's team and Bane against Superman's team or vice versa.

The guy getting hit by freeze beam is Flash and that makes me put priority on Captain Cold. Wonder Woman fights Harley and I'd like to see Freeze instead of Cap Cold, but my pure hunch is Cap. Being wrong doesn't do any damage so I dare to make the guess.

Yes, but if they are going with a batman team vs supeman theme I could see Mr. Freeze -- main reason being he's not a villain nor hero, I could see him backing up Batman like he did in Arkham City.... Otherwise, I would bet it all on Cap Cold.

-a falling stalagmite from the fortress of solitude

Well I stated my opinion on the story in the story leak thread so I could see Mr Freeze fit the story better than Captain Cold. But it's not that big a deal. It's either Captain Cold or Mr Freeze. It wouldn't make sense for it to be Superman or a stalagmite. Those others are nobodies. Of course putting out alternatives out is always good, but I just don't see the ice beam being from anyone except from the 2 characters above.

About the story though, Superman team is already broken and not a real Superman team consisted of solely Superman characters (while they could relatively easily use Superman, Supergirl, Lex, Doomsday, Metallo, Brainiac, Zod, Darkseid and Bizarro almost filling the team with heavy hitters) so I doubt Batman team is going to be 12 members from Batman either. But it seems that Superman's Justice League more or less attacks Batman forcing Batman to join with his villains.
 
On Batman's team, all will not be villians. Huntress, The Question (female one), and other heroes who aren't exactly do-goody shoes could align with Batman as well.
 
True, but I feel all the villains (anyone's) will be in Batman's team. I have really hard time imagining why Superman would team up with Lex Luthor or Sinestro or Captain Cold. Batman however is used to that sort of companionship.

Essentially I see Superman's team forming into a dream team while Batman's team is the dark and morally ambiguous one.
 
If the story turns out to be metahumans vs normals (I.E. Gods among us..) give or take a few exceptions on each side then its feasible that the superpowered characters band together in defense of the rebellion formed by bats and the rest.
 
Boon has retweeted aquaman related posts on his twitter and he even said that NRS had its fair share of Aquaman fans. I even took a prt sc of it and posted it a month ago. It's a no-brainer Aquaman for Injustice

Kitana has always been chained up in Kahn's arena even before she was revealed. Just because someone is in the background doesn't mean they won't be playable. I personally believe The Joker will be playable since he is one of the most iconic DC villains.

Also, I want to point out that Kitana is still chained up in Kahn's arena and is still playable.

Joker should be an unplayable boss in the beginning or unlockable throughout the game. If he was the main boss of this game I think it would be pretty cool. I don't know if Darkseid will be in the game cause MK vs DC had it's own story line specific to that game and I think he's worn out and so is that game.
