Injustice 2 rumored for 2017 release

If people liked the stage transitions enough in the first Injustice, then it'll likely return.
I thought that they were done pretty well in the first game. ;)

Son of a Bish...

Apparently, Injustice 2 still hasn't gotten rid of those Elder God forsaken Khrome Spammers. After responding to an Ed Boon tweet with "BATGIRL!", this is what I got.

The day Khrome becomes an actual character in Mortal Kombat is the day I'll quit the franchise.
Are you sure you're telling the truth and not saying that for the sole purpose of baiting me into doing a 180 on the Toy Factory Accident? Because baiting me into liking the Failed Smoke Doll doesn't work...

If I knew you were this susceptible to reverse psychology, I'd have used it alot earlier. Makes sense though, since it does work very well on people of low intelligence.

But no, seriously... NRS even confiming the existence of Khrome in the April Fool's character card in MKX gave me such a sour taste in my mouth. Not that much because of the actual fan character, because it's just a lazy design with copied powers from other popular franchises... nothing exciting about it at all. No, it's the guy who pushed this fan character of his who doesn't deserve that kind of attention. And he should NEVER get the satisfaction of actually having his way, having Khrome be an actual part of the canon MK universe.

He reminds me alot about you, Trash. The same fanaticism, the over-the-top personality, the whiny and raging fanboyism... If I didn't know any better, you two could be the one and the same guy. But hey, maybe I don't know any better and you actually are. I mean, I don't know you really, other than all the sh#t you spit out on here, but if the glove fits...

Accusing me of being a Khrome fan?

That's a bullshit allegation and you know it. The only good Khrome fan is one who's had a Fatality on him...

Besides, it's not really Khrome to begin with. It's a Smoke doll who got itself involved in a toy factory accident.

My legitimate disdain towards this spam character is very well documented here.

Is anyone else hoping to see King Shark in Injustice 2, or just me?

Also, a little MGS fun fact.
King Shark was voiced by David Hayter (Solid Snake / Naked Snake) in The Flash TV show.
So, aside from Phil Lamarr being Aquaman again (possible), it would also be cool to see David Hayter voicing a character with him in the same game again. :-D

Guys I know you love each other so much it hurts, but please keep your naughty conversations in the private. It is really nice to see young love blossom, but there is the time and place for that.

P.S I am cheering for both of you! :turbonaughtdy_1:

As for injustice 2. As far as trailer goes, it looks awesome. Gear system sounds interesting too, so while I am not really a big fan of DC universe I am gonna keep my eyes on how this is gonna turn out.

Also it seems I was right about NRS/WB. They dropped PC platform entirely. Everywhere I looked, Injustice 2 is confirmed only for XBOX and PS4. Even on official preorder page. Basically they threw the towel in. Fine.

So they are back to consoles only. Which pretty much means the same for MK.

I don't know how I feel about the gear / leveling up system mentioned for Injustice 2.
Unlocking stuff to make certain characters stronger than others sounds like it could unbalance stuff really quick.
Also, would gear unlocking be allowed for Tournaments?
Seems to me like some players would have an extra hand up on others, if that was the case.
I dunno.
Maybe I'm just not fully comprehending how this gear / leveling up system would work.

I have no idea who it is.

Ew.
But yeah, sorry for the slight derailment.

I'm really curious to learn what it really means. If it means that we get to unlock gear that changes certain apects of a character's gameplay - e.g. if Catwoman unlocked a pair of claws, she would become rushdown-focused with new claw moves, and if she unlocked a whip, she would become mid-range focused with more whip moves - then that sounds interesting. But if you level a character up to become more powerful, like stronger and such, then it could become so imbalanced!

From what I understand, MK9 and the first Injustice weren't confirmed to be on PC when they were first announced, but both of them became available on PC later... so there's still the chance it would. If they indeed do port it for PC, they better not f#ck it up again. If they don't though... then I completely understand why.

I can imagine that everything would be unlocked and levelled up for tournaments, so the players can customize their characters to how they want to play them.

This is how I imagine it...
Say you have stats, like Strength, Defense, Power, Range, stuff like that. And you have certain points in them, like this:

- Strength: 3
- Defense: 3
- Power: 3
- Range: 3

And then you are able to take points from one stat and put it in another, but only up to a certain limit. Like this:

- Strength: 6
- Defense: 0
- Power: 5
- Range: 1

Which shows that I have taken all 3 points from Defense and put in Strength, hitting the limit, and then put 2 points from Range into Power instead. That way, my character is now stronger on some points, but weaker in others, to keep the balance.

And to add to that, unlocking Gear to change a character's playstyle, like my Catwoman example above.

Say that Catwoman has these three moves:

- Claw Swipe
- Whip Lash
- Bola Throw

Then after playing her some, I unlock some Claw Gear and put it on her. Now she is focused on claw moves, replacing one of her other moves. For example:

- Claw Swipe
- Claw Grab
- Bola Throw

But then after playing her some more, I unlock a Whip gear which I can attach INSTEAD of the Claw Gear, giving her some more whip moves instead.

This way, we will be able to mix'n match the characters' moves to fit the playstyle we like. It's kinda like the Variation System in MKX, except that we as a player gets to decide what moves we can use, of course up to a certain limit.

This is ALL just a theory on what this "Gear System" could be though. Thoughts and speculations. ^^

I don't think that the variations in MKX are really a gimmick.
IMO, it gave you more options as a player of that character.
If you wanted a defensive variation of the character, you had it.
If you wanted a rushdown variation of the character, you had it.

That's a lot better than being stuck with a defensive character in MK9 when your playstyle is rushdown, or vice versa.

Yeah the MKX variation system was a game mechanic meaning it defined the game.

The reason I call it a gimmick is because it seemed like people just found the "best" Variation and then just used that, ignoring the other Variations... doesn't really make it a good mechanic, imo. I wasn't a fan and I hope it won't return in future MK games, but if they do, 2 Variations per character is enough.

But either way, hopefully this "Gear System" will be something cool that works, making it more a real game mechanic than just a simple gimmick. A guy on another forum compared my theory on it as what you can do in Smash 4. I haven't played Smash 4, but from what I understand, switching out certain moves with other moves is a thing, so I can see what he means by it.
