I get it now, NRS now HATES Liu Kang.

Sorry he was done and old news. Not to mention the fan base of MK has been tired of him for a while. Winning mk1 awesome winning mk2 wow he did it again great. He won mk3 cool the good guys won he finally shut SK down. Wins MK4 wtf really we have all these cool characters that can be used. He dies in DA and I remember people cheering and like aw yea, then the bad guys win and people were like huh? I truly don't see the fan base for him like it was when I was young and a teenager. Making him a bad guy has a chance to grasp the fans back or new fans. I seen alot of people at the end of MKX go what the emperor of neatherrealm that's awesome.

Somebody said something like that To Ed Boon on twitter. His response was something along the lines of

"Tell that to the thousands of people who begged me to put him in the game"
 
I will never understand why people wanted Tremor. The only reason I can see why people would want him in the main serious is because "brown Scorpion who throws stones", because that's basically what he was in MKSF. Hell, he didn't even throw stones then, he shot a brown, glowing, orb-like fireball. XD

I'm at least glad to see he doesn't look anything like Scorpion, other than that ugly hood. And I hope he has some cool moves that aren't just projectiles and earth stomps.

Would DC do sh** like this to Superman? I get it, Boon hates Liu Kang and loves Scorpion, but he shouldn't let his biases take over the story line.

Anyways, I can't wait for the day Ed steps down from the franchise and the next guy to take over intentionally sh**s all over Scorpion in every single game.

he is in MKX and the ending shows he will be in the next installment too. be grateful, us Rain fans get the shaft in every single game so he, sonya, jax and a lot more others that especially in MKX were not needed are back. just be grateful
 
I didn't want Lui Kang in this game, but I would've bought him as a DLC. His fighting style in MKX is Fire! (No pun intended)
 
Netherrealm hating Liu is the farthest thing I can think of. I see it as more of a character they keep trying to toy around with and fail miserably with.
 
Dark Emperor Liu Kang is cool, has cool design, has promising future, is one of the strongest fighters among the realms and is going to cause a lot of trouble.

What else do we need? He is still doing ablodiblolulililiubliblodbloublaie.
 
NRS definitley does not hate Liu Kang.. they hate Hsu Hao.

Evil Liu Kang is great and as others have said, could be part of the new Deadly Alliance. Mix in some good elements from Deception and MK11 will be very intriguing storyline wise.

I'm trying to imagine how the story would progress Liu Kang farther. Will he be restored eventually? If so, then what would they do to keep him from going back to the same old stereo type?
 
There's old IRC chats with Ed Boon of Mortal Kombat Online back in 1999 where Ed Boon hinted the idea of killing off Liu Kang back in 1999 when MKDA was working under the title of MK5. I think MK can move on with Liu Kang since we had other main heroes that can carry on MK without him.
 
I was rooting for a 'Fire-God' next-generation mentor Raiden replacement for Liu Kang, but ahwell I guess this could be interesting enough too.

This only further proves my point that Liu, Kitana and Kung Lao are only on the main roster because people cried loud enough, and unlike MK9, in MKX they have little to no importance until the ending cliff-hanger.
I have the feeling that NRS probably intended to leave those 3 out until MK11, and people cried loud enough and they were added last minute.
Oddly enough, that ending scene with Raiden made it feel (imo) like they weren't originally supposed to be in this game.
I got that same "see you in the next game" vibe from Liu and Kitana in that ending scene with Raiden, the same way that I did with Shinnok at the end of MK9.

I can't see why people (not you specifically, in general) wanted the MKII red Kitana in MK9 (Skarlet), either, but she turned out to be pretty good.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Perhaps NRS made him into a great character, as they did with Skarlet in MK9.

While true look at the fans for Scorpion, subzero, Johnny, even mileena and kitana. If the characters played on mkx online post shows anything liu is popular but theirs many others even more. I never said he wasn't popular are wanted just not like he once was, but what I remember from the old days at the arcades and reading magazines. Liu and sub zero were top dogs, but while all the characters progressed through the games even into the 3D era he didn't. He became that generic yelling asian guy with the new fan base of the 3D era. Like I said before people cheered when he died, then people were pissed he came back a zombie. Guess you can't please everyone. As for him now I think it's great to see him as the emperor, just hope they don't screw it up but they seem to be on a roll so here's to hope.

Edit: also one thing I forget mk9 added alot of new fans and brought old ones back. So with new fans brings new love for characters.

Well, obviously "please include Tremor" comes with the caveat of "don't waste the opportunity by making him dumb." That should go without saying. ;)

People asked for him because they were being optimistic.
