And if you think I was baiting ANYONE into admitting to breaking an online gaming rule, you are sadly mistaken. Skylot chose not to believe me when I said XBL bans gamers who break street date, even in the face of evidence to back up my claims, and therefore chose to admit to breaking street date himself.

And I also find it ironic that a Mod is losing respect for me over "snitching", especially considering that the mods here actually rely on snitching to find violations.

It's all about semantics here. Members report posts that are problematic to the forum and are offensive towards people. They need to dealt with because they ruin the forum. What does he admitting breaking street date honestly do to you? If anything you potentially caused this man's $60 he pays for Xbox Live go to waste because you wanted to prove a point and a selfish one at that. As well as all his time and effort ranking up or whatever he achieved in his games.

Like I said earlier, there's some shit in society where you just let slide. This was one of em.

Hasn't at all. I went dark several weeks ago and haven't read or watched anything since other than character reveals.

He did ALL of that damage to himself by admitting to an XBL violation in a public setting, even exposing his gamertag in the process. If he didn't want the consequences, he should've either denied it (which I have no way of knowing or proving whether or not he'd be lying about denying it anyway), or just remained silent about it. The only way this would be my fault is if I forced him to admit it, which I most certainly did not. That's my stance, and I'm standing by it.

I can agree with that. But I think you can concede that it's not comparable to theft,right?
 
You don't have to like people who break street dates, but ratting them out is another thing entirely. Just mind your own business, IMO.

TT has never heard of scare tactics apparently. know anyone who actually got banned? its all a farce. and asinine on top of that if you think that some guy walks into a store, and picks out a game, it happens to be before street date and XBL bans him... they're a business, they're not going to lose that guys $60 a year, because he bought one of their $60 games and played it before the 'launch'...

anywho, why you so mad about it?

Well, not theft. But a sure-fire ban if M$ or $ony sees it. I'm sure they know who does and who does not have a have a review copy.

The same can be said for people who break street dates. Mind your own business, don't tell anybody, don't post pictures, videos, or anything from the game on twitter or facebook. But we get people who brag. I would report someone who brags that they got the game early in a heartbeat.

XBox Live Code of Conduct, Rule F (Cheating & Tampering), Clause 8.

Do not play a game before it has been authorized for play on the service.

You're a damn cheater, Skylot! And oh by the way, you agreed to that rule when you signed up for XBL!

Well if I got an early copy, I'd be happy to tell people in case they want to see the game, try it out, or if anything watch me play before they get their hands on it. On the other hand, if someone is a complete dick about getting the game early, taunting people, calling em names, etc. Then yeah screw them over lol. But I don't think that's what Skylot was doing. Which is why I found what Trash did to be unreasonable.

It DOES include single player, because it doesn't make ANY exceptions. You're still a cheater because you admitted it.

At least I honor my legal binding contract with PSN 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, in totality. You can't say the same about Skylot's contract with XBL.
