X-Men (Sega)

First game I got for the Sega Genesis, I remember thinking it was a port of the arcade game made by Konami, I was really disappointed at first, but I did grow up liking it. I must admit that I never beat the game though, I think the Mojo's level was the farthest I reached, the game was quite difficult. Wolverine was my favorite X-Man in the comics, but I must say that Gambit and Cyclops were the better characters in this game. The OST is still stuck in my head.

Although I now look at movie-based games with extreme caution, I played the hell out of Batman Returns as a child. Whether it is one of the exceptional cases or I simply didn't know any better at the time, I can't say for sure.

Blasto was freakin hard! I love retro space themed stuff but I absolutely hated that game.

Anyway, Earthworm Jim is still to this day, the funniest game I've ever played. Everything in this game was off the wall ridiculous. Gameplay was challenging but fun, controls were smooth. One of my all time favs!

I think the game was $89.99, video games were expensive as hell back then. I used to make myself believe that it was superior to the Snes's port Street Fighter II Turbo, because you did not need a cheat to increase the game speed above level 4 and there was an extra game mode called ''Group Battle''. The only thing I was jealous of was that the Turbo's manual was in color while mine was in black and white. I remember not knowing how to switch from punches to kicks on a 3 button controller, I had to press start, because of that I could not pause the game, I eventually got a 6 button controller few years later. I always thought Sagat was much harder to beat than Bison, he would spam his Tiger Shots and Tiger Uppercut you every time you jumped. First character I beat the game with was E.Honda.

I don't remember games costing $90 back then.

Aliens vs Predator Arcade is easily my all time favorite arcade game. Beat em ups were my favorite genre back in the day and I was always a big Aliens/Predator fan so this game was perfect for me. It's a shame it was never ported on consoles or PSN. I would've love to have played this online with friends.

Agreed.
I remember getting UMK3 for about $45, when it first came out, on Sega Genesis.
A year later it was on the shelf for $14.99 at EB.

EDIT:
I also have MK: Deception (PS2), MK: Deadly Alliance (PS2), MK:Armageddon (PS2) and MK: Shaolin Monks (PS2), but since this thread was about childhood games, I didn't include them on my original list. ;)

I was 7 years old when I was introduced to that show, I stopped watching not long after 3 members of the original cast were replaced, I was so sad to see Austin St John go. My dad bought this game for me at Canadian Tire, a hardware store. I would've preferred a beat em up like Final Fight instead of a ''fighter''. Despite the game being terrible, crappy controls and everything, I really tried to like this game. The cut-scenes were the best parts of the game, Jason throwing his sword at Evil Tommy was awesome. Time to go download the first season of the show...
