FMV Character Endings

Does anyone know if the endings will be FMV like in Mortal Kombat 4 or will they just be the lame picture endings like in Deadly Alliance onward? I really hope it's the former because I actually want to SEE what happens to the characters in their respective endings (canon or not), not just some guy narrating what happened with only some pictures to show to us. They've already got a ton of cutscenes in the Story Mode; it would only be fair if the endings are the same way.

If anything, the sheer amount of cut scenes in the story mode is more reason to expect more classic text/still style endings in arcade mode, considering they pretty much put a whole movie inside the game already.

There's over 2 hours of cinematic elements in story mode. That is enough. To expect them to do that and give every character a fully performed and voice acted ending is expecting too much. The endings are gonna be dope with or without FMV, I promise you. Hopefully they'll evoke those old MK1-3 feelings like everything else in this game does.

well im sorry i ment to say they will be a MIXTURE!
my brother says: "Nooo they will be like vignettes, like a comic book. It was released a loong time ago in an interview"
can someone find this so called 'interview'?

This preview was posted in another thread:

In short, you will not control a specific character in the story mode and you will not see an "ending" for each character winning the tournament. You will play with all of the characters in story mode for 3-4 fights and you will see cut-scenes and story elements for each character. I imagine some "main" characters will have more story elements than others based on their importance to the final outcome of the tournaments. This preview says there is about 2.5 hours of cutscenes in the game. Based on what we've seen so far, the cut-scenes are not FMV, but instead us the in-game gaphics. We've also seen some of these cut-scenes take place in some of the arenas too.

That's not to say that there might be some really awesome End Game FMV sequence that is really awesome, but in general the story will be told primarily via in-game cut-scenes... but there are gonna be lots of them!

I believe it was confirmed in the magazine that revealed Jade and Goro that at least Arcade mode would have FMV endings.

I dont know how many times ive repeated myself saying "theyll be like the vignettes", heres that interview from E3 ;)
(at around 3:40, ed answers the question relating to endings and he calls them to be like a "stylized..graphic novel", which, in case you arent aware, is basically what the vignettes are)

It's actually at 3:40 - 4:10ish

i know people are saying it would take too long and wotnot to make FMV endings but to be honest i do expect them to make quality endings, afterall isnt that their job? this is warner now not midway, a much bigger team, and this is PS3 and xbox were talking here, not the megadrive, so i do expect quality endings and not a lame picture story.

duno bout you but when i clock the game with somebody then get a few pictures and a blog of writing i feel cheated.

they had FMV endings on PS1 games!!

and the stylized vignettes suck, theyre neither here nor there imo

i guess the OP is talking about the LADDER part of the game.. the "arcade" mode.....?

This ending will have stills/vignettes

The "story" mode will be FMV/cutscenes...

It would only make sense to do pictures-and-text endings. That's how it was for the first 3 games. I guess it wouldn't be bad if they were fmv's, but it would hinder the classic feel in my opinion.

Yeah i heard its suppose to be like the vignettes/motion comic. I think thatll be alot better than a detailed still pic. Although i would still would like a Full CGI movie for them eventually. A really good CGI lol.

meh im happy with the vignettes, what im wondering is, are the endings going to have little moments of gameplay to better explain it or what?
