This is goddamn stupid if it's for real.

If it's legit, I'm totally 100% done with Mortal Kombat. I've given this franchise I once worshiped too many extra chances since the embarassing pile of shit it has become since MK4.

Ed Boon will never pull his head out of his ass.

Just chill out dude. No official details have been released about this game.

I am just hoping for solid gameplay, something missing since UMk3. :(
 
I'm a DC comics fan... And an MK fan... Why don't I like this idea? O.o

Edit:

This is the sort of game you'd expect to come out alongside an actual game. Unless, this is preperation for the proper MK8.
 
Midway are 10 years late with this one.

Like the other guy said, if this is legit, i'm 100% done aswell, i've been a loyal fan since MK2 and have defended them a few times from the diabolical decision to can the xbox version of MK Armageddon.

Oh midway team, you just better know what you're doing.

Kotaku is reporting that they have been contacted by a former Midway employee who was part of early development on the game. He stated that the game was toned down significantly so that it could get a T-for-Teen rating. The game will have minimal blood and absolutely no gore. Yes, this means no fatalities.
 
As long as there are fatalities...I will get my chance of kicking the shit out of some lame kids fantasy characters...I hope.
 
I'm guessing this is more DCs idea then Midways. I imagine they paid a lot of money for this.

On the one-hand, this might be the stick slapped on the rear to get MK to make a half-decent game. Because this time if they screw up, its DC fans that get the stick instead of just MK fans.
 
Are you serious?! All this time Ed has been telling us about wiping the slate clean and we're getting this?!

It's not that I'm not excited, but I'm just wondering if this is a check that Midway will fail to cash.
 
This is CRAZY! LOL! Let me guess....Sub-Zero pissed off Batman cause he kidnapped Alfred, so the bat called up his whole Justice League crew to the rescue. Subby started feelin outnumbered so he called up the whole MK crew to get his back. After having a bunch of gang fights and drive-by shootings, they decided to hold a tournament to settle it all. LOL!

Naw but really, its probably just Kahn again tryin to merge the realms but instead of Earthrealm, I guess its Gotham...uh...realm.

Agreed. To be honest, I hope that this is the Wii version because no gore, blood, and fatalities are going to make this game feel generic despite it being an MK title. I'm surprised that Ed Boon picked DC to cross over with mainly due to the fact that their fighting titles, as well as a majority of their other games, don't sell too well. If the MK franchise did want to aim this towards younger players, they picked the wrong franchise to cross over with. They should have gone with Marvel, even if they did the game wouldn't feel right :mrgreen:*Hulk brutality*.
I hope things can be set straight as soon as we see some gameplay footage.
 
i think there will be 2 mk games in the making. i mean this render looks not like ue3 to me.

the mk team in chicago ( mk8 ), and the san diago team ( mkVSdc ).

what ya think?

I'm inclined to agree with those that seem to think this is a side project. It makes sense after all, Midway would have to be blind and deaf to be unaware of the backlash MK: Armageddon received. Perhaps this is just a stop gap where they work out the kinks in the new engine before dedicating a game to the next chapter of MK.

Oh well it could be worse, at least it's not MK vs Power Rangers....
 
This has to be just an additional game, not really MK8... I mean this is really a joke if they are counting this as MK8... is it just me, or is it April 1st again?
