EVO 2011 Mortal Kombat Stream...

Tekken finals were boring, MK finals were SUPERB!

I sense the MVC3 finals will be boring and only SSF IV can top MK, providing it's not just a Yun sausage fest.
 
I'm not suprised the low hat nonsense got him the win

Regardless, I'm happy that I got the chance to experience the talent of these players, they worked very hard and played their hearts out today.
 
If Tokido brings his Akuma to the table, then yeah I hope to see some awesome games. Poongko is one of those players that has amazing offence and rushdown, but cant defend to save his life.

Kinda bummed that Daigo dropped his Ryu for Yun, but there ya go.

3d fighters can be fun to play, but always boring to watch

I'm not a huge SF fan, but i'm gonna watch it cause its always intence, even more so that mk at times as its spazzier
 
That entire set of finals matches was completely exhilarating and amazing. Mortal Kombat definitely had better be at Evo again next year after an amazing showing like that. Just amazing.
 
This is why KL is OP fools. Low hat/overhead mixup is just too good and it's a braindead 50/50.

REO was the better player imo.

You gotta keep in mind that the Mileena vs Kung Lao matchup is like 3-7 or 2-8. So for REO to win the first set 3-2 and hold his own vs PL's Kung Lao is already amazing. Cyrax switch was questionable. I was hoping he was going to pick Johnny Cage.

it's still very early, they did a lot of mistakes like chris g vs reo, people missing clear punishers, it's just gonna get a lot better if the game doesn't die as fast as it rose up, hopefully nrs continues the good support.

I agree, and I hope NRS becomes even more determined on fixing exploits after witnessing this tournament.

Speaking of which, FIX OR REMOVE THE DAMN NEGATIVE EDGE NRS, even one of the commentators mentioned it like 5 times how it messed up their play, hell i made a post like a few months back when the demo came out without knowing what negative edge even is and i said it's messed up and that it ****s combos literally.
 
I think Evo 2011 is going to have done good things for MK 9 after those final matches.

MVC3 will be just a demonstration on what true game brokeness really is.

And SSF IV AE....well it's Street Fighter, the king of fighting games (whether you like the series or not), but if its a Yun sausage fest then it could turn out to be boring. Ono admitted that he deliberately made Yun and Yang broken and it totally killed the AE community. Only now is he going to release a free patch to fix them, so his broken characters idea totally backfired on him.

Yes, I think MK 9 at Evo was definitely in the right place, at the right time. MK 9 had massive variety, while all Tekken was, was a giant Bob/Law fightfest.
