Batman: Arkham City

Holy crap lol I'm going with Aldo on this one.

If I get the game I'm taking my sweet time with it cause even though I did hear there is A LOT more to do other than story, but c'mon, did you get it for the story mode or the extras? ;)

Glad you were able to get past Two-Face, Freyith!

SPOILERS AHEAD

I am really happy with the amount of characters involved in the game, but I think they could have done more.....Mad Hatter was so short lived in this game, he could have been more like Scarecrow with his weird sequences....it was kinda like they took the Mortal Kombat Annihilation route where they wanted to throw in a number of characters but ended up wasting them (though it obviously was nowhere near as bad at MKA).

As for Catwoman, I love Catwoman, but I don't think she was the best thing in the game. I like her fighting style and her character overall but there was nothing about her that floored me.

Can't wait to get Robin and Nightwing and I wish there was an option where you could choose one of the many villains and play as them, that would be awesome <3

My only other real complaint is that sometimes, the battle sequences can be a little overwhelming and frustrating as they throw at you not only regular thugs, but knives, shields AND stun baton thugs in challenge maps, and sometimes Arms lockers in story mode. So you've got every kind of enemy to deal with...at once. It gets tedious sometimes.

As far as the challenge maps go, I feel like while they're fun, just like in Asylum, they're not so much maps as boxing rings with decorations, as far as the combat ones go. I think they'd be more enjoyable if you could use more of the landscape in your battle, and take advantage of the variety of high-flying moves that Batman has available to him when he can get the high ground. Overall, I think that aspect could be more entertaining.

Did anyone get the mysterious stranger (I know who it is but wont say due to spoilers) on the ferris wheel? I didn't because it is during getting the cure from Joker and I never even looked at the ferris wheel :/

You can get the trophy from him if you throw your baterang at him so he catches it but I think if you didn't do it that time, he comes around again, but you have to wait forever....or at least that is what I read, but I will remember to do it when I start the plus game.

I heard there was a Mortal Kombat easter egg somewhere, did anyone manage to find it?

It's not hard to find, as the character is one you follow in the game. Anyways, she is basically a Kitana rip off.

Also SPOILER ALERT:

Harley Quinn is pregnant =)

51% overall completion thus far. Still have a couple side missions to finish and the lion's share of the Riddler's trophies and Challenge Map medals to acquire.

I bought it for the story, which let me down this time around and I dont have enough sence of euphoria to want to get the completion rate up to 100%. I am going to finish the side missions and trade it in.

There is one trophy in Amusement Mile that I am,having problems getting, its the one where you need to hit all six of the question marks within 4 seconds of each other. I cant get the quick batarang to go off fast enough on the last one before they start poppin back up. Other then that I am down to needing around 25 or so to get to 400.

I did find the "mystery" man, I knew who he was the first time I ran into him, was fortunate enough to find him the other 3 times however I didnt throw a boomerang at him :/

I beat the campaign, and I'm impressed. I still have side quests and whatnot to do, but I beat the actual story mode. I'll try to keep spoilers to a minimum, but if you are looking for spoiler free, stop reading here. Again, I'll try my best but stop reading here if you would like no spoilers.

To simplify, the ending was sort of depresssing, and makes creating a sequel difficult. However, through some easter eggs, it is shown that Rocksteady has some kind of direction with the next game(which there most likely will be), but if the easter egg(s) have nothing to do with the future of the Arkham series, Rocksteady's going to have to do something completely out of the box.

By the way, there isn't really a MK easter egg. That was an (*SPOILER*) Assassin from the league of Assassin's, which has no relation to MK at all(it's headed by Ra's Al Ghul for those that don't know). I haven't seen any easter eggs except the pregnancy test by Harley, which unlocks her song in the credits. (* END SPOILERS*).

On a side note, roaming Arkham City with TAS Batman is awesome :) . Can't wait to try out the Batman Beyond skin!

So, I've been popping in my copy of Asylum into my PS3 every once and a while to just compare and contrast (mostly on Challenge Maps), and I've got to say that City really makes its prequel feel stunted, even if in some ways that previous game was more ground-breaking. Batman is just plain harder to use and less varied in Asylum versus City. He only has two quick gadgets (Batarang and Batclaw) for use in combat, and his counters are much slower and he's much harder to get long strings together (x20 or greater). Waaay harder.

Obviously, there's also the huge graphics leap forward between the games. Asylum was impressive enough, but City is absolutely gorgeous. All in all, some of my frustrations aside, they definitely improved on the premise.

One thing I do see more often is glitching. Enemies tend to glitch on some maps (running sideways against the railing on a set of stairs in the Wonder City challenge map, for instance), and Batman frequently doesn't get his Silent Takedown when he otherwise would. Prompt never comes up and he just shuffles into his target. Really annoying.

I'm growing annoyed with some of the Riddler Trophy challenges though, particularly the ones involving those silly switches. To me, it was more enjoyable in Asylum to go to hard to reach places and claim trophies rather than screwing around with the line launcher or something in order to hit the switches. It feels somewhat out of place.

And get ready for possibly my biggest 'overall' gripe. No Batcave. We got an auxiliary Bat-Cave in Asylum but nothing of the sort in City. It would have been awesome to see him use in-cutscene the new Batwing 2.0 and maybe see on screen Alfted or Oracle. A gigantic missed cinematic/set-piece opportunity there, in my view.

Indeed, but based on the story on Arkham City, he doesn't have that time to head back towards the Batcave and all of that. Maybe he could've done that after the main story, but not sure if it is necessary.

I'm almost done with story mode now. I've been avoiding this thread and reading people's posts to prevent spoilers but so far I'm diggin the game. I've finished 6 of the 12 side missions and I've completed 200 of the riddler challenges. Just ran into
Spoiler:
The Mad Hatter! It was a quick encounter but still really fun. And Batman looks really weird with the rabbit mask on.

I love how you interrogate people to get riddler secrets instead of just finding a map like in arkham asylum. Its always satisfying to beat a thug down after he gives you some intel. I also really liked
Spoiler:
The boss battle against Mr. Freeze, I wish that they went on longer and were a little more challenging though. And I'm enjoying how decrepit Batman's starting to look as Joker's titan virus slowly kills him.
rocksteady did a superb job and I can't wait to see how it ends. Can't wait too see who the mysterious watcher in the wings is also. Yall need to learn to use the spoiler tab yo!

i beat it the other night

i didn't care for the layout, as stated felt like you had to go so far out of your way to get anywhere. like when a side mission showed up. i was like "over there? no i am good thanks" lol

for the last boss battle:

Spoiler:
i felt that clayface's moveset was almost an exact copy of solomon grundy which disappointed me. both did the move where they try to pound u with their arms/ball and chain, then the spinning motion, of course clayface also had the role move. they felt too similar. granted i know later when you get the sword that is not the case

the ending:

Spoiler:
major shock, i was like he is dead? i loved how it is joker's own fault. but with the music, and his carrying out the body, and harley and everyone's reactions i was so on the edge of my seat lol. and during the credits when joker is talking hinting something is up i was like ok next game where is it?

i do agree it was too short, at the credits i just sat frozen in my seat like "its over? really?"

i did not like joker's trophies in this, i don' think i will take the time for that lol. so many of them i had no idea how to unlock. i did one where you have to throw the batarang down a vent and you have to time it to dodge the opening and closing vents to fit the first question mark, then you throw the second time and have to go to the left and then to the right to get the second. it took me like 20 minutes i was like this is not worth my time lol and some i have no idea what to do. i lack the patience for that lol

catwoman was fun for me, she is weaker which i hate and i still don't understand the timing for her wall climbing. felt like that was unneeded to add. just have her climb the wall i don't need a mini version of ddr crap LOL. i thought she was fun to play with, and loved her BTAS costume. granted it looks out of place LOL i thought she was fun to play with and i love her slide its more fun than batman's LOL and thanks to her:

Spoiler:
i got to see poison ivy. YAY love her

the challenge maps i cannot get into, i like level one cause its a basic beat them up but its so demanding to get a perfect score I don't bother lol. i tried but its like if u mess up once its over with. not my thing

love the game, felt a little short, wish instead of thinking ways to unlock all million joker trophies had more story line but oh well. still epic.

There should be a building behind the challenge that you can get on top of to see all three of the top question marks. From there you can quick fire the batarangs to hit the targets. So what you need to do is put the explosive stuff on the bottom three first, go up to the building, explode then quickfire your batarangs. You should also have enough time to aim a batarang in case you miss one of the top question marks

Thats a good idea, I ended up getting it, I crouched instead of walking or trying to run and got it first try using that method. It also let me do the last Riddler challenge at 399 so I didnt need 400 but polished it off anyway. Was a little bummed out Riddler didnt have nearly as many monitors as he does in his loading screen but the room itself is still pretty cool.

I'm having a hard in Amusement Mile. I'm trying to locate this riddle when the question is about the Graysons. Can someone tell where to find it at? Appreciate it.

I know witch one. It's across from the GCPD building, against a wall. It's a show poster, it's near the casino with the blue signage, in the direction of the industrial sector.
