Batman: Arkham City

I downloaded TAS skin, and it said I can use it in the challenge maps and in the campaign when I beat the campaign. I was pretty dissappointed by that...

But, nonetheless, I'll see if I can get an image from one of the challenge maps where I'm not fighting(predator maybe?).

Am I the only one who finds it strange yet kickass that Nightwing is gonna be released as DLC before Robin despite Nightwing being revealed after Robin?

Weird, but I think they doing it by chronologic order in being Batman protege.

Dick Grayson (Original Robin, currently Nightwing) was Batman's 1st student. Since Jason Todd (2nd Robin, currently Red Hood) is not available, they skip straight towards Tim Drake (3rd Robin) for DLC. If you did pre-order Arkham City from Best Buy (in America) or Gamestop (in UK), you can get Tim Drake as a bonus instead of the challenge map.

Really, really enjoying the game so far. It's only weak point to me, so far, are a couple of its boss fights, notably Solomon Grundy and Mr. Freeze. I never liked Grundy, so I might be biased, but I thought it was a little boring and repetitive, and Mr. Freeze's fight got on my nerves. Bats puts himself in a situation that doesn't play to his strengths, and the gameplay suffers. That said, I LOVED the Ra's-Al-Ghul fight! He's one of my favorite DC Universe villains, and he's done supremely well in this game. I hope him (and Talia) get more screen time towards the end.

She's alright. Her move set is interesting and fun to do, but I don't much like her story missions. The first two are fairly short, and she doesn't have the same variety and versatility as Batman. Maybe that'll change when I unlock the remaining two story pieces. But she's fun on the challenge maps. I got her with three skins (the AC original, BTAS--which I love--and another one that I can't remember what it's from).

Personally, I'm looking most forward to Nightwing's pack, as he's a trained acrobat, so his moveset is probably going to be f*cking batshit crazy.

I liked Catwoman. As you said, she lacks all the versitility that Batman has, but she is fun to play as anyway. I liked grappling up walls with her because it was like climbing the wall as opposed to ziplining up it. She could have been more fleshed out, but being as she's being considered DLC, she's pretty good.

I tried out TAS skin, and I got to say, it's pretty cool. It felt out of place in the highly detailed environments and whatnot, but it looks great. I wish I could get it in the campaign before I beat it though. That's the only downside I could find with it, other than that the fabric wasn't a dynamic black/blue like in the cartoon, but being it's an add-on, it's not a big deal. That would have been a pain to program though.

I'm very impressed by the game overall. Very well done, and the improved fighting and gliding mechanics are great. Pitching took a little while to get used to, but it's fun. My only gripe thus far would be that the new remote control batarang is freaking crazy; I hate how it's inverted controls(might be changed, but I haven't found that option yet if it is there) and it just feels too sensitive compared to the one from AA. Smoke pellets are cool, and so is the taser gun.

I saw gameplay of the Batman Beyond skin as well, and it's done very well. His wings are retractable and he has a nicely done matte black finish. He's on the muscular side, but I believe it's supposed to be Bruce using that suit, so it makes sense. My only complaint with that one is that his chin is very skinny compared to the original design; whether this was done to emulate Terry or not, it simply looks weird. Also, if it is Bruce, I would expect his chin to be the same size, no? Yes, I know, it's DLC, if you don't like it don't buy it/ be glad it's there at all, etc., but it just seems like a minor inconsistency.

Enemy tactics during stealth areas have been improved from the first game, for example, they carry NVG, which allows them to see Batman perched on gargoyles.

AC so far has improved on all aspects of AA, and it is definitely worth your money. Catwoman's levels could have been longer and more plentiful, but I guess that Rocksteady was more focusing on Batman than Catwoman, so it's ok. The game is great, and there is a ton of stuff to do in it.

I'm looking forward to Robin and Nightwing, that is, once I beat the campaign; could be a while(yes, it is pretty long).

Weird. At least I'm pretty sure that was from the C.E., but then again, my fiancee took care of all of that for us anyways.

I think I'm almost done with the Story Mode, and I done it within the same day that I got the game. Unfortunately, I hardly having a hard time with some side missions, such as the Deadshot one. So far:

Spoiler:
I'm heading back to Wonder Land to stop Joker from using Ra's Al Ghul's Lazarus Pit, but I gotta get by these damn TYGER guards.

If anyone is having a hard time with the Predator Parts, here's the good advice from me on which to take down if Batman is in a major disadvantage:

If the enemy with the jammer is there, immediately pick him out and silently put him to sleep. That's #1.

For enemies that have NVG, be careful. If you bought the suit upgrade that allows to drop the heat if very still, it'll help you alot. Anyways, these are the next guys that should be taken down immediately. Catch them while you're on the ground.

Everyone else remaining, take them out as you see fit, but be very careful and be mindful about your next move after taking one down.

To Freyith:
For the Mr. Freeze boss fight, I had a hard time as well at first, but even thought you probably beat him already, it takes patience to get him where you want, in order to take him down. I find the Solomon Grundy fight to be very annoying.

And I think Catwoman's gameplay to be very intriguing, especially her crawling on ceiling walls and using her takedowns. I just having a hard time getting the timingn her wall climbing pounce.

P.S.
Hugo Strange is a real son of a *****.

i am LOVING catwoman, biased since i love her character to begin with but she is so fun to play at. i would die if she got her own game i know it will never ever happen but if it ever does, get some smelling salts my @$$ will be on the floor lol

So far the game is amazing! I've been doing lots of side missions and finding riddler trophies and what not. But so far I am definitely impressed. This game feels more like a Batman game to me. If that makes sense. Encounters with enemies aren't as scripted, being able to soar across part of gotham and also Alfred taking over the role Oracle played in asylum. I love everything they added to the combat system, having a quick attack for all the gadgets is pretty awesome. And clotheslining baddies after a quick batclaw is still fun after doing it 100 times. I also like that they added some cooler things to do after you stun someone. Running up a thugs chest and coming down on the guy behind him is really bad ass. And am glad they added a multi-takedown move. The bat swarm comes in handy as well. They took the feeling being Batman in arkham asylum gave you and turned it up to 11. And damn is that city intimidating at first glance. I Like the revamped detective mode although after arkham asylum it took a second to acclimate to the new style. But I'm glad you don't have to use it as much. Cat woman I thought was pretty fun to play as, especially in combat she shares most of batmans moves, but her weapons are kind of meh. My main gripe is her thief vision which makes a lot of the enviroment hard to see and how she gets around the enviroment couldve been smoother. Nothing beats the grapnel boost and traversing the city in a matter of minutes. But I like her speed in combat. I'm really hoping that nightwing and robin will have some story segments like catwoman. Not too deep into the story mode, I'm rescuing Freeze from penguin right now. But I do already have about 100 riddler challenges completed. I plan on completing it 100% just like I did Asylum, so its going to take awhile. This game is so much bigger than asylum its ridiculous. The rogues gallery alone would make any fan of the dark knight nerdgasm. And I was happy to see a few faces from asylum pop up in the game as well. Seeing cash and Ivy was cool. I really like the uneasy alliance Batman forms with Bane in his side mission. Hope to see scarecrow and croc pop up too. I've been trying not to read anyone elses posts so I don't see any spoilers. My eyes are killing me I've been playing for hours. Start up again in the morning. But so far so good. If it remains this fun for the entire game, then I definitely see this as a GOTY contender.

No catwoman is included in both standard and ce's of the game.
NRS needs to take some cues on modeling female faces from RockSteady all their females look feminine and not like roided out tranny's with really sexy bodies.

^LOL Yeah, I have to agree that all the female characters in MK9 are really, really ugly. Granted, all Hollywood 'babes' like Kate Beckinsale and others have a couple of manly features here and there (it's that combination that's actually at the core of that stereotypical look), MK9 took it to serious extremes. Aside from Jade though, I didn't like their bodies much either....>.> But that's off-topic.

Oracle comes back, by the way, and helps you along with Alfred. I was relieved; I was really worried they were going to cut Oracle from the Arkham game series (which would have been an enormous shame, considering Barbara Gordon/Oracle is a key character in the Bat Family and currently helps Batman a lot, well, prior to Batman R.I.P., especially while Alfred took a leave of absence), and was very happy that she made it in. Her dialogue is great and I just love Babs overall as a character. In fact, I think she's a better female protagonist as Oracle rather than Batgirl.

<3

I never got into Arkham Asylum, probably not going to get into Arkham City. Besides, BF3 and Skyrim come out pretty soon.
