Baraka's Role in MKX

I am pretty sure he will be playable.

For people who understand how Ed Boon talks to fans, he has confirmed him about 3 times, even today.

Question is, how important is he to the story? Did they do something with him this time because a lot of people have been complaining about nothing being done with him story-wise.

I am so ready to chop somebody up with those blades!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
A waste of a character, just like Sonya and Jax. Another safe 'cool' option, instead of a 3D-era character they have the opportunity to revamp and rejuvenate.

They should just kill him off as an NPC, but I take your point about Ed's hints. At the very least, if he is unlockable then that bodes well for another character or two.

Sorry, but I'm sure the punching bag role will be given to Ferra/Torr and Reptile.

Also, you're setting yourself for disappointment.
 
He won't be in, unless we got at least 3 unlockables, and I doubt we are that lucky.
 
Erron probably took his life during the Civil War and claimed his blade to use as a weapon. I highly doubt he's alive.

Yup.
Erron Black has the Tarkatan arm on his back in that 1 specific variation, and even Tyler on the last stream said that the arm "may belong to Baraka," before Derick tried to cover it up with "or may not."

I think that if Erron's blade was Baraka's then they wouldn't have hinted that during the stream.

If Erron indeed kills Baraka and claims his blade then they would have keep their mouths shut about it.

That's the reasoning I came up with though, I may be wrong.

Tyler on the last stream said that the arm "may belong to Baraka," before Derick tried to quickly cover it up with "or may not," which made it sound like they didn't want to spoil story stuff and let it leak that Baraka gets killed in MKX.

I don't think it's that big of a deal if they reveal that. It's not pivotal to the story.

That seems like what may indeed happen, and the guys on the stream were probably trying to cover it up so that they don't give away story spoilers.
 
What? He's not playable. That was confirmed yesterday. Hes a fightable npc though. Let baraka beat you several times in story mode so you can pretend you're using him and winning.
 
its pretty obvious baraka is the new cyber character

there hasnt been a cyborg announced yet and i doubt they would leave cyborgs out the mix completley

just because baraka lost an arm dosent automatically make him dead.


its obvious baraka getsfukked up by crocodile dundee erron black and then get a new cyborg body with even deadlier blades this time that can extend and shoot lazers and shit

Cyborgs wont be in because that would essentially kill the need for predator who basically is cyrax and sektor combined with more abilities.
