About Jade's future

Well, i think her odds of being in MK11 are pretty high

In first place, she didnt appear as a revenant in story mode, in fact she didnt appear at all. This lends credence that Kitana's ending is canon to some extent and perhaps even MK9 Jade's. She obviously wasnt suddenly erased from NRS employees memories during developement cycle as Mournful Kitana, her presence in the ending and the reference in MK2 tower show and in fact, she probably would have been easier to make fightable than Sindel (a simple recouloring of some of Kitana clothes and fans would have done the trick) but they chose to completely leave her away.

Personally i think that at some point during Jade's time as a Revenant, the events of her ending happened (minus killing Shao Kahn ofc). The vision that Kitana had (a timeline were Shao Kahn was killed after Armaggedon) seem to align with the same goal of the mysterious woman's mission (Shao Kahn's death as an outcome that must change) and in fact, it seems that Jade's spirit is the one who was giving the vision to Kitana. It was probably in this point when Kitana got Jade's weapons also.

I'd be here for something like Possessed/Handmaiden/Spirit variations for her. Possessed being about the mysterious woman, Handmaiden being the typical assassin Jade and Spirit being about the green powers.

Based on the evidence you note and Kitana's ladder ending I definitely think Jade will play a role in the next game. I don't know if she'll ever be playable again, though.

The MK9 ending with the mystery woman seems to have gone by the wayside. I'm not counting on that part becoming relevant, though it'd be nice if it all did tie together.

I'd say that Jade is among the top five most popular female characters so i doubt they'll keep her out forever. The only kombatant which seems to have been perma-killed is Baraka but he can be replaced by any Tarkatan and he'll look the same XD.

I'm not holding my breath on it being canon either but it would be a nice reason to explain why she is no longer a revenant in Kitana's ending (or at least better than "lol retcon" )

I hope you're right! She's my favorite of the three, though I love Mileena and Kitana as well.

And yeah, I'm sure there's a reason. I'd like for it to relate to Edenia in some way, and it likely does given the vision Jade sent Kitana in the ladder ending.

How is Baraka permakilled but Mileena isn't? Or Jade for that matter.

Doubt they will leave Baraka out. I mean he isn't Kobra or Mokap. He is quite popular amongst casuals. And his name is way too related with MK history to be replaced with some other tarkatan. In MKX they did a great job with him looking different to other tarkatans. In no way he is a generic tarkatan there.

Lol, Jade's absence as a Revenant isn't "mysterious," it's telling of just how redundant she is. NRS can barely find the time to give completely unique characters like Reptile, Ermac, and Ferra/Torr different motivations, conflicts, and moments to shine in the story. What chance does yet another formerly Shao Kahn's henchwoman-ing, formerly rebellious do-good-ing, undead female warrior in a skimpy masked outfit have?

I don't expect to see Jade anywhere near MK11's roster. I don't know, maybe she can have a story cameo as an imprisoned Netherrealm spirit that Kitana speaks to in order to restore some of her own fading conscience.

I'd love to see Jade in MK11. She's my favourite character of the franchise, and honestly, I am very disappointed that she is no where to be found other than an unmentioned cameo in Kitana's Arcade ending. I had so hoped to see her be a revenant amongst the others.

However, if she isn't a revenant, then where is she? Has she been chosen by some strange entity to correct some wrongs?

I hope to see her in the next game, and playable as well.

I expect to see Jade soon. Maybe not in MK11, but she will be back. Boon said so on twitter (i'm currently looking for the tweet).

I'm not sure what this is supposed to prove. If NRS has no plans to include Jade in MK11 right now, would you have expected Boon to say "Yes. Jade is dead and she will always stay dead no matter what until the end of time"?

It proves that like Liu Kang did, even though she's dead, she has a chance to return. Assuming she won't return would be a wrong assumption. That's what that tweet proves. From the top horse's mouth itself.

Boon's tweets about Fujin in MKX turned out to be complete bullshit, and you're taking this tweet about Jade's future as proof of something other than Boon's ability to keep the dream alive for hopeful fans? Lol.

Look, are we talking about MK11 or MK50? Of course Jade will be back. Every trilogy character will eventually be back. MK9 wasn't the first "bring all the trilogy characters back under one roof" game and it certainly won't be the last. The only relevant question is whether she'll be back as a stand-alone playable character that NRS has concrete plans for, outside of a compilation game like MKT/MKA/MK9.

Looking at MK9, which failed to honor any subtle characterizations Jade received in the 15 years between MK2 and MKA and was content to have her serve as a Kitana clone... and MKX which goes out of its way to ignore her existence... I see absolutely no reason to think that MK11 will suddenly change everything.

Because Mileena ending has an army of Mileena's. While that obviously is not gonna happen, the idea of her either still having clones somewhere or Shang Tsung making her again isnt that farfetched. And Jade was revenant-alive last time we saw her too. Baraka as far as we know is neither, but I'd see him coming back if Shao Kahn or Mileena rose to power again.

Doubt they will leave Baraka out. I mean he isn't Kobra or Mokap. He is quite popular amongst casuals. And his name is way too related with MK history to be replaced with some other tarkatan. Attachment to the name and being a klassic character are basically the reasons i see him eventually coming back but i dont think he will in MK11 because lookwise all Tarkatans DO look the same, Baraka just has fancier clothes. It would be nice having a different tarkatan on the meanwhile though, one who plays differently (although he could have a Baraka-ish variation in homage)

Then maybe instead of going on about whether or not if she will be back, then talk about what might become of her when she comes back. ^^

1. I could see Jade coming back in gameplay but not in story, making speculation as to her "role" unwarranted. Just an unlockable "what if?" character.

2. I already said what role I think she could serve in MK11's story in my original post in this thread.

Jade being possessed by some otherworldly spirit or demigod would do nothing to solve the issue of her not being a character of her own in this timeline. Only instead of being Kitana-by-proxy, she would become this Spirit/Demigod-by-proxy for a while. Well, what happens when the spirit or demigod is expelled... 2 games later? 3 games later? We're back to the original problem of having to reinvent her for her next appearance. They can't just keep putting that off. If they want to bring her back, they have to do it right right away, and unfortunately I feel that the role they gave her in MK9 completely restricts their ability to do that.

Maybe they can make her some sort of priestess? Havik is a cleric of Chaos, Jade can be a cleric of some new Outworld religion. Outworld doesn't have any religious figures, so why not? At least there's nothing in MK9 that contradicts the idea that was always religious.

Depends of what happens to her in the storyline. For all we know MK11 could have once more a comic (which would develop the Mysterious lady through possesed Jade) and the possesion itself could get resolved early in the story mode and thats assuming the MK9 ending Lady is the reason Jade is suddenly a vision giving spirit.

The great thing about the new unique pre-fight lines is that they help to develop the character personalities by sheer number. However i do agree that Jade and Kitana have similar personalities (which explains why they are friends) and giving Jade some personality trait or quirk that Kitana doesnt have would be good.

Almost every character has a 50/50 chance on returning. I will admit, I was surprised that there was absolutely nothing for Jade in the story, but oh well. I am a fan of hers, don't get me wrong, but, I assumed they weren't going to do anything with her a lot the moment they announced Kitana's variations. I guess there's your Jade.

Although, I am still waiting on a costume for Kitana that makes her resemble more of Jade than anything else. Doubt we'll get it, but it's something I think fans of Jade would appreciate.

If and when Jade returns, I seriously hope they ditch that stupid possessed ending they gave her in 2011. It was dumb, the amount of theories and possibilities for who that woman could be were dumb, the fact that it went absolutely nowhere is dumb.

With Ed saying 'Nobody stays dead forever ;) ' When people on twitter said 'Jade is dead ): '
I'm sure she'll be in MK11, if not, MK12.
I hope that lady takes over her mind and Jade becomes a whole new character. That would be badass and explain Kitana's MKX ending as well.
