it would work, but its the strangest thing, I'm not mad at freddy at all, I dont really think he belongs in mk, but his inclusion is overall funny to me, and I still remain nuetral on it.
he's just a funny troll character and the game needs some shit like that IMO, so whatever.

Yeah if Freddy is really the thing that ruins MK9 for you, clearly you didn't enjoy the game that much to begin with. I mean, I understand how 1 character can completely discredit awesome story mode (Take note MvC3), an awesome set of unlockables, a bad ass challenge tower. I mean, clearly it'd be better for NRS to just rerelease MK9 in an updated version now since it's been a whole 3 months since the release like other games are doing. How dare they do something iconic?

Hm i cant speak for everyone who is upset with Freddy in MK, but i think you have a point there. Of course if NRS makes more money with this DLC they could decide to add more DLC (could have been achieved with another character, more MKish too? We will never know...)
But what i am afraid of is if this will be the right kind of DLC? Will it be more MK-style warriors? Or will it be more guests, because they make more money because they have more popularity?

...I agree about Yunsung, though, never really liked him in SC2 at all.
I guess every game franchise is gonna have a shitty batch of fans somewhere. I remember when Sonic fans made a petition to boycott Sonic 4 because Sonic's eye were green instead of black like in the Sonic 1-3. :laugh:
I hate the idea of Freddy in MK, but enough to make me jump ship? People are definitely over-reacting to this.

the reason I'm not mad at freddy's inclusion, is becasue all my requested DLC characters were denied a while back, Cyborg smoke, Chameleon, Tremor. And every other requested character (fuijin/Rieko/tanya) are just boring and stupid to me
So even before my characters were denied, I wanted a guest as a last resort. I would have chose someone better than freddy, but I guess he'll have to do

Haha I love the amount of pure hatred and overreacting in this thread. Don't want Freddy? That's fine, don't download him. Don't want to see him? Fine, don't get the pack.
But, you will soon realize there will be more people buying him than not. Sure, it seems like a lot here won't buy due to the whole "purist" and "I'm a REAL MK fan" attitude on this forum, but most people aren't like that. So, you can deal with playing with the smaller community.
Now that I think about it, I hope they don't make the pack mandatory. I don't want to play with the selfish self entitled db's anyways. Will make the community feel better when I play. That alone makes this first day purchase.

Man, if for having each time 3 MK characters DLC characters released, I have to accept a guest included, that, despite not belonging to MK Universe, still fits the violent gore proposal of the game, it's a price I pay with pleasure ..... You cannot win all the time, so, I'm OK with NRS decision.
I like this post, because it comes from someone who like he said is neutral on the issue. We have had joke charecthers in the games before. So I don't see why one can't give Fredy a chance. I already like him from being a Jason/Freddy fan, but just his moves make me like him. That move where he sends that giant claw at you from the ground reminds me of Kabal's wheel thing. Which would you prefer Freddy who I honestly don't like as much as Jason, but Freddy can speak, make wise-ass remarks, kill you in your dreams AND kill you in rl. While Jason, I see him being like a semi-boss sort of charechter, as I can't see him blocking or running. But maybe his health bar is way bigger than a normal charecthers, and his attacks do more damage if they hit. I would aslo prefer doing a fatailty on Freddy who would actually scream, while Jason wouldn't even twitch as you slice him in two or set him on fire.

It's more of the fact that he is jumping whimiscally that makes it NEED that bit, IMO.

Nah i didnt count those characters to the unlockables... kind of seemed like part of the standard rooster, just to be unlocked. And i dont want to sound mean or anything but i have unlocked 100% of the Krypt and well ... 90% is crap, dont you agree?
