The problem is that Boon's greed and lack of integrity ruined MK.
I don't care how much money WB/NRS makes off fanboys, I don't own any stock in them.

If one character can honestly ruin a game for you, I don't think Fighting games are the right genre for you in general.
Also, how do you know? At this rate, it's 3 characters, 1 guest per "season". Assuming we get to Season 3, that means six more characters, two more guests (from the looks of my very low vote poll, we have Jason and Ash being the most requested), and Tanya is among the highest requested characters in the game, along with Cyber Smoke, Reiko, havik, and oddly enough, Bo Rai Cho (Tremor doesn't seem likely, sorry fans). She is going to be included at some point or another.

Paradocsally, Freddy can help us gain more characters by increasing MK hype among non-MK-but-NOES-fans, so NRS will earn much more money and decide to continue new chars DLC.

yeah, every single fighting game I ever played, theres at least one character I hate
heres just a few
Smash bros - Jigglypuff
Soul Calibur - Yung Sung
MK9 - Cyber Sub
theres more , but these games have more characters I like than dislike
after reading this i can't help but be facetious and add then after this Princess Leia stumbles into the room lost from dress shopping and Shao Kahn goes "oooohhh new prisoner" and now she is fighting for freedom as our 5th DLC character.
I, personally, never understood the obsession between Freddy Vs. Jason . I just think if there is such a market for this concept why not create a separate game? Then MK fans get their game, and the slasher flick fans can get a fighting game with tons of horror movie characters.
as for compatibility packs being mandatory, what will that do? if a person truly hates freddy he can just exit the match lol

well, freddy trailer on youtube already has about 600,000 views, so this is just a massive publicity stunt.
It does seem a bit greedy, but if they use it for more DLC characters ,then I'm fine
seriously i wanna see the feedback of this idea on the flip side, If Freddy is awesome enough to be in MK, SURELY MK is awesome enough to be in Nightmare on Elm Street

That is a pretty harsh thing to say, putting "us" (the MK players who dont like the idea of adding freddy to the game) all in one bucket.
I was sceptical about kratos and everytime i play the ladder and he is in the mix i kind of have to play against him with a bad feeling that he really doesnt belong in this game.
Same will be for Freddy. Will i buy him? Probably yes. I dont believe any kind of boycott will have an impact on how this game will develop, thats not how it works. Getting a few gamers together virtually and start screaming at NRS wont solve anything.
Its not like that i am mad they are not adding Havik or Drahmin in a revamped form (god, would that have been awesome. Look what they did to the other lame characters. They even made Jonny Cage "cool" again!). Its basically the fear that instead of adding something to the MK mythology (and they have added very little in this game, almost exclusively old content with a few new story twists) they will continue to add misplaced content to the game and end up with a game thats similar to MKvsDCU ...
Boon even stated that he wants Freddy to be a recurring character and THAT is something i dont see myself enjoying in a future MK game. Freddy incorporated into the story of MK10? That IS a nightmare. Please no. Oh god no. Nooo.
THIS! This post is another excellent reason of why Freddy should be downloed. But, fine if the rest of you 'boycotters' wannna ***** and moan about how wooo this game soxxor now thaz Freddy is in my MK, then by all means go ahead and do so. But, don't start *****ing when they add ANOTHER ninja in again, and he sox too. I bet half the people who voted to boycott will be pissed if NRS releases a ninja just to satisfy the boycotters, only for that ninja to suck worse than Freddy ever will and then they are all gonna say Freddy doesn't suck, this new guy/girl sucks major *uts!!

Bah, before Shang Tsung Bang Bang fatality being revealed, I was really thinking that this game was supposed to be "free" from any kind of previous "crazy weird out of place nonsense" stuff, but, after seeing that NRS opted to put Joker homage as Fatality for Shang Tsung, instead of classic soul steal, at the first moment, I was angry, sayin "F-you Nrs and Ed Boon ..... why couldn't you resist to do such prankster stuff this time, hum ?"
But, later, I was not worrying anymore, and accepted that as "Ed Boon's moment of fun" inside the game ..... and get used with that stuff, despite still does not fit MK ....... hehe. I did not allow that to hurt my experience with the game.
Same stuff with Johnny Cage Oscar Winning fatality : it's a waste of opportunity to have that instead of a better fatality, but, you can get used and just accept that ........ more or less as "OK, Ed, you did the game 90% fan service and pretty good, I forgive your childish desires floating around in the others 10%, so, I'm OK with your inside jokes put in this game ....."
When Babalities were revealed first time, I was not even worried about anymore, hehe .....
So, who survived that, can deal pretty OK with Freddy Krueger in this game. Sometimes we take this game too much serious, so, a guest character , for stress relief time and play for fun, it's a necessary evil, and, it's not enough to make you , all of sudden, hate the game that you once learned to enjoy, hehe XD

I won't get up my hopes anymore.
If Boon even had a tiny amount of respect/consideration for the buyers of this products he would have made clear that the 4th character is not going to be Tanya -- like he did for Tremor -- instead he intentionally kept the hopes up of that small minority who would have liked Tanya.
If you read this forum, it is clear from all the gloating comments that, if anything, future DLC will come from further teen-oriented, wanna-be, pseudo "horror" movies.
