I was disappointed in it not being a MK character, but I don't feel ANGRY about it. It is what it is, WB doing cross promotion, and at least it's someone who fits in the violent MK universe.

Still, I can see why people would be upset (especially after the Kratos fuss) and rubbing fellow MK fans faces in it isn't what being a MK fan is all about. We can disagree, argue, even fight, but taunting people like that isn't cool.

Don't make me have everyone hug it it out.

Honestly, I thought they did a pretty good job with Freddy. I like his intro with him materializing out of the fire, and I think his fatality that summons the boiler is pretty cool. The blood eruption reminds gives me a nostalgia trip because of the kill that involved him pulling his victim through the bed and then ending with the same effect.

It makes me a little curious to see what they would do with Jason now. >.>

Boon's gonna do what Boon's gonna do, a couple a thousand people being angry isn't gonna stop him when thousands more are supporting it. If he wanted to put in Mr. Hanky the Christmas Poo, he would. Someone would buy him (I would, but I'm insane like that).

How can you guys try to cool things down while calling others ignorants? Really...

If boycotting will accomplish NOTHING, then let in peace those who want to do it, or at least be polite or try a different approach!

If someone is disappointed at NRS and boycotting Freddy will make them feel better, LET IT BE!

Please stop FORCING your desires into others!

I think I may return to SSF IV and get AE.

MK9 could have been great! It is great, but severely hindered by a few unfortunate things, such as awful online/desync because not everyone has the same DLC packs, and now this.

Capcom are money grabbing bastards, but you wont find someone like Robocop or Jason in a SF game.

Why the gloating? Why the insult ("your ignorance")? Does the fact that I would have preferred MK to stay MK make me stupid?

Me boycotting obviously won't hurt Boon, but at least it will keep my MK free of non-MK characters.

Anyway, too angry and upset to think clearly...

K f*** Freddy for a min (I hate him too but..) anyone heard anything about other Dlc announcements being made at cc (as Boon retweeted earlier)?

I have the pass but prob still won't DL him. If we get more Real MK kombatants down the road I'll be fine waiting awhile. It's not like we HAVEN'T been spoiled to S*** w/Dlc every two weeks...

I still perfer MK to be pure. Trust me honey, I do really bad. I'm against this as you. But if you kontinue to do something that won't work, why still do it why you have all this precious time to go train to kick freddy ass.

First off, blind527, you were right. Even if it was just hearsay, it was true. :hail:

Secondly, I am the type of person that tries to see the good in most things. However, there are quite a bit of problems I'm having with this. Why use the updated Freddy Krueger? Freddy is well known for the 1 bladed glove (him and MJ seem to have quite a bit in common), not two. Plus, it would have made him unique in that he could cut you up with one hand and punch you with the other. Also, the burned skin is HORRIBLE! He looks like a mannequin... Bad job on NRS's part, they should have stuck with the Freddy we all know and love... Robert Englund ftw!

Though, the boiler room fatality was pretty bad @$$.

I'm sure is not Ed Boon's fault , the guy deserves all our respect, he fought hard to have this game made, he put "blood and guts", hard work, support and love for MK in this game, and, still, gives support and it's an incredible guy, class act.

But, he works for a powerful company, that can act as a dictator tyrant giving orders sometimes, orders that should be done ..... WB does not have the same passion for MK as Ed, for WB, MK is just a product that sells well and make profit, and so, they are using "their" product to promote others stuffs that WB, fortunately or unfortunately, owns.

So, Ed try to minimize some negative impacts, putting stuff that he can control at some level, but, trying to respect the maximum he can the MK fans; keeping in the line with the proposal the new game brings : violence and gore. They did Kratos, but, tried the best to make him "presentable" enough inside the MK game.

So, I'm sure Ed will soon enough be aware about the mixed reactions, and the negative part of feedback regarding Freddy Krueger, but he will not hate fans because of that, and, will try his best to deal with the situation, because he is a fantastic MK fan in the end.
