I'm not saying you are saying that I, or anyone who agrees with me thinks the same but, my point is not getting uncomfortable looking at sexy characters. UMK3 clothes were sexy and ok regarding the whole ambient of the game. MK
had sexy outfits. Armageddon had. I just think MK9 thought "hey, we can sell more with horny people that like to unzip for fictional game characters!"
And do you know where do I get this sense? It's not by MK9 itself. Before MKX, I was absolutely ok with most costumes, except Mileena's toilet paper, MK9 is obviously drinking from sources of fantasy games, almost everyone there look like characters of the genre. But it was during MKX that I saw many not even going on your - very solid btw - argument of pushing political views into the game. But just because they wanted a damn boob to shake. Physics? Nope. Wanking! So I imagined turning the game into this view.
What I cannot approve of, is when an artist WANTS to make something sexy, but then some corporate dickhead goes ahead and pushes his political views and does not approve. I find it funny that Japan does not like extreme violence in video games, but they are okay with it in anime, movies, etc. Anime titles like Hellsing Ultimate, Devilman Crybaby and Berserk are just as extreme with gore as MK. Even movies like Guinea Pig 2 was taken to court because they thought the movie was a real snuff film.
US is totally ok with violence, but nudity is somehow full of censorship. Japan doesn't care to a certain type of nudity or sexyness alike, but are VERY crazy about violence.
Things like censoring RE7 (in their homeland) when it came to something like decapitation, since it's forbidden in the country when it was considered too cruel.
