He didn't do that bad. Taven just needs to team up with Takeda.

I agree.
Haters can hate, who cares? I like Taven and I say he is cool

C'mon dude. Every character has their uses and I think Taven can be used even better. They can do quite a bit with him.He was a bust, and should be remembered as such for posterity.

Taven's use is in the JRPG genre, not MK.C'mon dude. Every character has their uses and I think Taven can be used even better. They can do quite a bit with him.

Edenia is dead. Its physical soil is ruled by Kotal Kahn, while its sole legitimate heirs are ruling the Netherrealm. He's perfect for MK right now. He's a perfect rival for Rain, he has to kill Daegon so he could team up with the Earthrealmers, and he is the last good Edenian so he can bring back the resistance. The only thing JRPG about him is him being chosen and with Edenia gone Armageddon never happens.

You forget that one of its chosen protectors lives on, his name his Taven. From the fires of the sun arises the light that brings light. Taven can face Kotal and bring back Edenia in an honorable match of Mortal Kombat.Edenia is dead. Its physical soil is ruled by Kotal Kahn, while its sole legitimate heirs are ruling the Netherrealm.

Taven has as much political power in Edenia as you and me. Kitana and Liu Kang are the ONLY legitimate successors to Edenia, and their ruling the Netherrealm. Kotal Kahn is the current legitimate ruler of Edenia's physical soil, so therefore, Edenia is dead. You forget that one of its chosen protectors lives on, his name his Taven. Three reasonsLegal heirs, yes.
Last I checked, though, the son of Argus (Rain) is from Edenia.
Why can't he be the new ruler of Edenia, now that Sindel and Kitana are in the NetherRealm and King Jerrod is dead?
Three reasons
A) Argus had no political power whatsoever in Edenia.
B) He's a bastard son. Bastard children traditionally have no rights of successorship in a Monarchy.
C) He's a traitor to Edenia anyway.
Rulers / tyrants and legitimate heirs are 2 completely different things. Why can't Rain fight Kotal Kahn and be the new ruler / tyrant (aka Shao Kahn) of Edenia, now that Sindel and Kitana are in the NetherRealm and King Jerrod is dead?
I sincerely hope Edenians become more proeminent next game. I really loved Tanya and Rain's roles in X. I can honestly totally see them re-using Taven and Daegon considering all other importante Edenians are dead.
If Kitana can't rule Edenia, then it's permanent property of Outworld.A) Neither did Shao Kahn.
He just took what he wanted, killed Jarrod and conquered both Edenia and Outworld.
B) Hence why I specifically said:
Rulers / tyrants and legitimate heirs are 2 completely different things.
1 is favored by the people and the other is a conqueror who decides to take things by force.
C) Doesn't matter.
Traitor or not, I don't see any reason why Rain can't take that realm by force, if he so chooses and defeats Kotal Kahn for it in the process.
Especially given that Shao Kahn was not Edenian either, yet he still overtook it.
If Kitana can't rule Edenia, then it's permanent property of Outworld.
Again we have Taven. He can protect Edenia while a new government is formed. If Kitana can't rule Edenia, then it's permanent property of Outworld.

Thank you. If Daegon dies we can still have a dynamic between Taven and Rain. The prodigal son versus the bastard son. They could even team up because Taven doesn't know Rain betrayed the resistance. We also have Rain, which could be more than just henchman fodder in the next game, and actually give him his own story rather than being another lapdog.
Rain is also Argus' (the protector's) son.
