Dishonored: All Things Dishonored related

The Dishonored Definitive Edition comes out today for PS4 and X1, for $40, for anyone that's interested in that info. ;)
It's $20 on PS4 and X1 digitally, if anyone got the the free digital game download for 360 (games with gold) or PS3 (PS+ free games) in April / May.

Anyways, this game will likely be occupying most of my time on PS4, so if you see me on this game and not on MKX, I'm not purposely ignoring you.
Dishonored was my 2012 GOTY and I'm looking forward to getting it on my PS4 today, and it will make the wait more bearable between now and Spring 2016 (when Dishonored 2 comes out).

Also, for anyone who is interested in picking up the Definitive Edition for PS4 or X1 and may have missed the "Tales Of Dunwall" mini-episodes before the game originally came out in 2012, you can watch the 3 of them at the link below:

That sucks.
The network is probably getting hit up since some of the people who got Dishonored for free on PS+ and Games with Gold a few months ago (on the old-gen consoles) put it to pre-download.

I can't play the game because it won't stop loading. I was playing the first level and right when you get to the sewers part it's like "Game has not loaded."

I had it shown live on my Twitch and it pissed me off to where I had no other choice but to play something else. Last time I checked it was at 67%.

So who knows at this point, all I can say is that I'm not happy that I can't play it just yet.

Never played it, but there's lots of series I have not played ( Witcher, Dark souls, Dragon age) Is the game suppose to be accessible for newcomers. I mean regarding story

Yes, the game is very accessible, regarding the story, as it's the first game in the series.
The game was a brand new IP in 2012 from Arkane Studios, and has been well received by the majority of the gaming community.
The guys who worked on the game have previously had experience working on Ark Fatalis, Deus Ex and the first 2 BioShock games and 1 of the co-creator's favorite series was Thief.
The sequel to Dishonored is coming out in Spring 2016.

Kitty_55, wow!
24 hours later and the digital version was still loading?
Sorry to hear that.

I can barely see the framerate difference and the graphics were barely tweaked. (Or I'm blind.) Its not a twitch shooter so I don't see why they couldn't have pulled resources and made the game look better instead AND bump the FPS.. I love Dishonoured but I don't see the point of this "remaster."

Dunno.
I was able to see a notable difference.

There's less distance fog and things are more detailed, imo.
For example:
I used Devouring Swarm and you could see the ligaments and bones being torn off, whereas the PS3 / 360 versions just left the rats feasting in a blurry pool of blood.

Honestly, we should have gotten this. I know for dang sure the ps4 could handle this on top of the resolution increase.

Yeah, I agree that the frame-rate should have also gotten a boost to 60FPS, but the resolution and graphical upscale is where I saw the main difference.
Hopefully we'll see 60 FPS for Dishonored 2, especially since it's being done on the id Tech 6 Engine (new Doom).

Anyways, ever since June 24th (when my PS3 Dishonored disc got scratched) I never bothered buying Dishonored again for the PS3 because I figured that I'd just play it again once it came out on PS4.
It's better this way, anyways, because now I'll have both Dishonored 1 and Dishonored 2 on my PS4, and I can just sell the PS3.
I don't play MK9 anymore, ever after MKX and the Living Towers & Endless Tower, and the only 2 games that I really had my PS3 sitting there for was Dishonored and Back To The Future, but with all 3 of those IPs coming to current-gen, I have no reason to keep the PS3 anymore.

So, I think I got the game all loaded.

I am taking my sweet, sweet time with it because I want to get as good of an ending and without getting spotted a lot.

I remember when this game first came out, I read a lot of comments who were bad mouthing this because all of the game's lore was scattered throughout the game rather than given to you. Such as the notes and journals to pick up. People said that they hate that kind of stuff.

Why? I love when a game has more lore to offer by collecting things. I'm sorry not every game needs to sugar coat stuff and immediately hand everything over to you at the start. Some people really like this kind of stuff, such as me. I enjoy finding those letters and books in places I never bothered to look the first time.

Same here.
I'm purposely avoiding the Granny Rags / Slackjaw side missions, going after the "Clean Hands," "Ghost," Thief" and "Mostly Flesh and Steel" Trophies within a single run.
I'll go for the "Dunwall in Chaos," "Versatile" and other violent Trophies on my High Chaos run.

The people who bad-mouthed the game for the lore being scattered are the same people who said that Dishonored was boring because THEY didn't get creative with it.
Welp, that's THEIR fault for not exploring the world and being creative with a game that asks you to be creative.
Likely the same buffoons who only played through the 1st Coldridge Prison stage, and abandoned the game afterwards, not realizing that it's after that stage when Corvo is granted his special powers.

I also agree with with about not having stuff constantly being spoon-fed to you in a game, and I also grow tired of the morons that say dumb things like "Dishonored needs a NG+ mode."
NO. It doesn't.
If Dishonored had an NG+ mode, here's what would happen;
People would play through the game 2 times and be super-powered, then they'd quickly get tired of having everything unlocked at level 2 from the start of the NG+ game, and then they'd turn around and complain that "Wah, I unlocked everything and now there's nothing to do."

Heh, I eh... made Havelock kill Emily.

I thought I had one sleep dart left. I didn't, and I watched him and Emily fall off the lighthouse.

Haha, whoops. That was kinda... shocking to me since I never had her get killed. Ever.

I feel rotten.

Ah, the 3rd ending (bad High Chaos run). ;)

To be honest, Havelock killing her made me feel less rotten than watching Emily go dark and go "The others are all dead, aren't they?" "That's alright, because I was going to have them killed anyways."
I felt more rotten that my actions lead Emily to be more demented and twisted.

Dishonored 2 - Secrets from the Announce Trailer video:

I can't WAIT for this game.

I'm assuming that the "bird-like head" creatures with a wooden head that you face later on, which Harvey is talking about, are the 10-12 foot tall creatures on the PAX display....

Spoiler:
Also, Jindosh is a student of Anton Sokolov?
The plot thickens. :-D
