SPOILER ALERT:Mortal Kombat X DIGITAL COMIC DISCUSSION

Alright. I've been replaying Deception and here's where I think we stand:

At the time of the events of MK4 Shujinko should be in the Netherrealm gathering evil energy to continue his quest. His training with Nightwolf comes BEFORE MK1 so don't even start with me.
Now, his time in the Netherrealm could POSSIBLY go unhindered during the Netherrealm war which leads him into the Deadly Alliance time period in which he goes to Outworld and was imprisoned in Li Mei's village.

NOW. Since Shang Tsung is dead and the Deadly Alliance won't come to pass, Shujinko may be wandering Outworld during the time in which the comics took place.

HOWEVER, the volume description says the one collecting the daggers is using cunning and guile... Doesn't really sound like Shujinko. Seems more like Daegon's schtick.

My theory here is that either the Red Dragon killed Shujinko or captured him.

This of course is all assming John Vogel is collaborating with Shawn Kittleston and are doing the lore justice.

It's Noob Saibot. Big bad is Noob Saibot. Probably why the heroes went to Sub-Zero in the trailer. Who knows Noob Saibot better than his brother? Well, that reason and because you cant really trust Raiden anymore.

Harpoon but I think Himmerick mentioned it could be cut, it was something like that.
Snow hahaha yeah, I'm not saying a word until tomorrow! It was one of the few tweets I sent him. Maybe I sent him about 3 or two, counting with this one.

And (Snow too), if we take the Konquest mode seriously, Shujinko would not be imprisioned on Orderrealm, since he was imprisioned on Li Mei's village because of the Deadly Alliance, and went to Seido because Hotaru is a jerk with town cries.

He went to Outworld, on that story, to fight alongside Raiden. Funny that, when he went to Orderrealm, we acquired its Kamidogu, which is exactly the artifact Raiden is holding. So, no reason to travel to Seido anyway (if we try to mix everything).

Edenia must be still merged with Outworld, so its Kamidogu should be there (unfortunately, we don't know which Kamidagger Hanzo was with and which Sub-Zero got). At the least we know they kept the six counting, and related to the realms.

Shujinko's best locations, trying to mix both stories, I would guess Outworld and Earthrrealm.

Anyway, if he kollect all six Kamidaggers, Onaga would still have to step into Outworld into amazing cinematic  to get The Amulet, possibly being held most part by Mileena.

I doubt the comic big bad is the game's big bad.

Same. The comic is very much telling its own story.

Yes! Thank you!

Guys.

Fellas.

Chums.

...chumettes?

The comic and the game are two separate stories. We're still missing a bad guy for the comic, and it wouldn't make marketing sense to reveal the game's bad guy in the comic, so all of these both two signs point to the reveal being the comic's bad guy. So why is everyone talking about the game's bad guy? :(

But I have to say. This is no Bruce Lee movie, but you should prepare yourselves for the Return of the Dragon

If it really is the Dragon King, then you deserve mad props dude. You were the only person I saw who thought Onaga would make a return.

Anyway, i'm in love with the idea of Onaga as the big bad. Just give him a badass redesign, and shrink the wings down. Even if he's not the big bad, I still want to see him make a return.

EDIT: Didn't the injustice comic book reveal the big bad before the game was released? I never followed Injustice, so I don't know.

And all that "thing" on that thread on MK Wiki didn't need to happen

(now people are talking normally after that comic description. Some already talked nicely and came back the same [like Dragonspyne]).

p.W it could be true, but we can easily connect events of the comic in the game. Specially after the "red cloud" appeared.

When was it established that the blood demon was related to the One Being? I see people mentioning it as fact but I haven't been around much lately, don't know where that came from.

Official digital comic description (of Vol.1).

THE PREQUEL TO THE VIDEO GAME PHENOMENON IS HERE! For years, a tenuous peace has existed between the realms, time enough for old champions to fall and a new generation to rise. But peace can never last for long . . . The Thunder God Raiden has seen visions of a great evil entering our world, one so powerful it could change the very face of the universe. The one hope to stop the sinister force lies in six ancient relics, mystical blades imbued with the Blood Magick of the One BeingÑthe Kamidogu daggers. But Raiden and his allies are not
the only ones searching for the all-powerful weapons. Another has spent years acquiring each blade through cunning and guile. For not only can the Kamidogu daggers contain a god, they also have the power to create one . . . Kombatants old and new will fight for the future of our realm and the realms beyond in this red-hot debut by writer Shawn Kittelsen. Together with artists Dexter Soy (DC UNIVERSE VS MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE) and Veronica Gandini (JUSTICE LEAGUE BEYOND 2.0), theyÕll start this action-packed newest chapter in
the Mortal Kombat saga off with a bloodbath!

Guys. Guys. C'mon.

This "new" Sub Zero is OBVIOUSLY Steven Blum. ;)
Which means it MUST be Vincent Valentine.

What other characters did Steve Blum voice over the years? I think he might have had a Street Fighter character on his resume here or there...

His grunting in the trailer was really reminding me of someone. His voice was so massively affected. Tell me that you heard not grunts!

So I took another look back at Deception ans from what I can tell, Shujinko should be in one of 3 places during the comics.

The Netherrealm (he spends the ENTIRETY of MK1-4 there, might still be there since Scorp might not know about Quan Chi's treachery)

Outworld.(Kind of unlikely considering what Yellow Ledbetter pointed out, thanks man.)

Seido, the realm of Order. He could be wandering around looking for the Order Kamidogu but since Raiden has it he may not find it at all and his quest at a halt.
Seido was also the next Kamidogu he needs to find before proceeding.
