Any word on Kabal one way or another?

He's a really strange character in terms of visuals (a respirator, a gas mask, hookswords??? Bizarro combination) and themes for his abilities (superspeed??? what?). I can't speak for [MENTION=5028]Commander[/MENTION], but I don't think MKX's dark and realistic tone suits Kabal.

Granted, it seems like NRS can revamp any character and turn shit into gold, but Kabal doesn't jump out at me as one who deserves it more than any of the others.

Because, as [MENTION=6910]Bruzzrad[/MENTION] mentioned, he's more of a side character, and it doesn't seem like he would add anything to the MKX story, aside from being a jobber for Raiden and the forces of light.

I'd rather see him get a cameo appearance in MKX, working as part of Quan Chi's EarthRealm revenants under his control than have him taking up a roster slot, which could otherwise be used for a new MKX character.
The same goes for Jade, Sindel, Smoke, Nightwolf, Stryker and Shang Tsung.
Jade is already confirmed staying dead, but let the rest of them also sit out for 1 game.
 
Eh, I can respect that.

I really want him to come back (And be a BOSS (Not as in boss in the game, just kick bum)). He's the reason I bought myself a pair of hookswords and practiced with them.
 
Reptile having that slow-mo move is confirmation enough Kabal is not in the game, because if he were then he would be the one with that move that represents the character moving very fast.

I like Kabal, he's one of my favs, I like his speed and his mask, I hate his random moves though, the buzzsaw that materializes out of thin air is randomly lame, it's one of the most stupid moves in MK9 because it makes no sense at all.

On the contrary, I believe he does fit in with the tone of the game, especially if he goes black dragon.

I would very much like him back (and also nightwolf) but I'm not going to be upset if he doesn't make it. I mean those are two of my favorite characters but the way MKX is shaping up to be I may have new favorites, ergo Kano. Always hated Kano, but now he may get star treatment from me.
 
I wouldn't mind seeing him in MKX with this MK9 ending look. Definitely more interesting than Stryker I think. But he'd have to add something to the story at this point and be back for a reason - which I doubt. So...
 
Two words. Black Dragon. Even if we can't see him as a playable character, I'm %100 sure that we can see him as a cameo. But my odds are higher on Mavado. He has a role on the story.

What makes you think that Quan Chi will get Mavado's soul? Because that's the only way Mavado makes it into MKX, after Kano and Erron kill him dead in the comic.

ohh.. but wait... Kabal and Stryker are also cops/special forces, there is hope for him yet!
 
So if I hate the militairy in a game, I also hate them in real boring life?

Yes of course. I don't care for humans and their punny war-problems, if war would come with Russia for example I just move on to one of my fathers houses in the States.

But I have other problems with SF in mortal kombat, they obviously spoil roster spots and ALWAYS suffer boring fatalities.

What do you mean? I think Kabal could fit this dark theme perfectly. He's pretty much always been pretty dark. He could work.

If Kabal's not playable in MKX then I'm sure that we'll see him Nightwolf and Jade serving in Quan Chi's NetherRealm revenant army, doing his dirty work for him.
