Eh, he's a pre-existing character, that's "klassic" enough. And I'm sure there are people who'd argue about any of the 3-D era characters being considered "klassic." =P

If it IS true, maybe he's a DLC character that they're considering for AFTER the Kombat Pack.
Injustice had a season pass then 2 more characters after that, for a total of 6 DLC.

Rigo Cortes or someone said they haven't begun work on any DLC after the Kombat Pack. They're waiting for that to sell first.

The conversation that I specifically had with Rigo on FB (which I posted here) was that they haven't begun work on ANY DLC yet, even the Kombat Pack.
They will be working on the Kombat Pack after the game is complete.

I'm just saying that maybe they're considering him.

They actually said in the Brutality stream that the DLC characters and costumes are "still in development"

I take that as they've already decided at least a few of them.
 
I dont know this is awesome BUT i still think they are only seen in cutscene's a full model is also used for cutscene's and not just gameplay.

If they are actually playable you all better prepare for 3 ROWS of 13 characters, YES!

There is no way in hell otherwise, as Ed stated before "More new characters than in ANY MK"

its still not topping MKD sooooooooo my guess is 3 rows of 13 characters, or either 6 unlockables with 4 DLC offscreen or maybe 6 offscreen like in MK2011

I think they are too detailed to just be npcs
I don't think they would go through all this trouble of redesigning them, if they were unplayable.

Sindel, on the other hand, looks very similar to her MK9 model, and not as much detail was put into her in the story trailer.

Well Jax looks awesome, Johnny...not so much. I dont want to complain since one of the characters I wanted in is basically 99.9% confirmed, but Johnny's face looks awful imo. Hes supposed to be a good looking movie star, not a grumpy old army captain. Ahh still hope we get more than the rumored 24 sooo bad!!
 
There is still hope they won't be playable. Soon enough we're going to discover that Sindel is going to be there too, cause it's a MK Family Reunion, and Kitana needs her mother to be there too haha.

Everyone got a redesign, even Sindel. Her costume isn't identical to any costume she's had before. The only question is of degree. Sindel got the least redesign, Rain got a bit more, Johnny Cage and Sonya got complete 100% overhauls.

If anyone thinks JC is unplayable at this point, they're being delusional.

I dunno.
Rain seemed to resemble more of a mix between the MK9 and Armageddon version, IMO.
