Complete analysis of the story trailer

Feel free to point out any mistakes or anything I missed.

This is what I got out of it, story-wise:

Johnny Cage defeats Shinnok in the Netherrealm War. Raiden imprisons him in his amulet.

25 years after MK9: For some unknown purpose, Cassie and her team seek out Sub-Zero. He knows them by name. Sub-Zero mentions that they are not ready because they lack cooperation ("you lead, but they do not follow"). Part of their arcs will be learning to work together. Apparently, Cassie fights Sub-Zero to prove her worth.

Later, Cassie and her team arrive at the Spec Ops base and learn from Li Mei that Mileena has the amulet and is causing Kotal to become desperate. Raiden seems to be advising the young spec ops team and sends them to Outworld.

In Outworld, they are escorted to see the emperor by Erron Black. Cassie tells Kotal about Mileena and the amulet. Kotal questions Kano about Mileena's location while riding in his wagon. Mileena ambushes Kotal on the streets. Rain helps her during the fight.

At some point in Outworld, Takeda, Jacqui and Cassie are captured and thrown into the brig at the Kove. Some shaolin monks are also escorted into the brig, but it's not known if this is a separate occurrence. Eventually, they escape and plan to attack their guards, Ermac and Reptile.

Later on, back on Earth, the team sees an unknown entity erupt from the shaolin temple. It soon envelops the region in a blood red cloud. Kotal's army arrives there as well and surround Cassie's forces. A revenant Sindel and Kitana guard the shaolin temple.

I think there was Ermac, Kotal, Erron, and Reptile surrounding our protganists in that one scene, think you missed Ermac

I think you are right.

Takeda isn't using a whip.

He is using a normal Shirai Ryu outfit when fighting against Scorpion.

But he is using a tech armor that has an auto spear. Remember that "Cyber Scorpion"? Like that.

I don't think it's Li Mei, because it looks like a chinese operative of Special Forces.

It seems The Amulet is the most important artifact of the game. Who has it, will rule.

Raiden seems to have imprisioned Shinnok (who is using an awesome outfit, NOW HE LOOKS AN ELDER GOD) inside of it.

And notice that everytime it's used, all people, except the user, suffer some kind of energy wave/bright light.

Seemed like Johnny was fighting Shinnok and Raiden got the Amulet and imprisioned him. That would make Johnny the champion anyway.

Sub-Zero seems to know the protagonists, all new generation, by name. He sounded like a master or a leader (of course not of Takeda).

I really believe it's the blood demon coming out of the Shaolin Temple and taking the sky.

Hanzo japanese and Sub-Zero with chinese traces FINALLY.

Look at Erron's boots.

And Jacqui's boots looks like the one before the last.

Thank you for doing that. I hadn't seen the Mileena and Rain vs Kotal Kahn. And know the whole scene make scene. Kotal blows Mileena away and Rain kick him in the back from the tower.

She says her village was attacked by someone wielding the amulet. Boon hinted at Li Mei appearing in some capacity.

Look at Erron's boots.

And Jacqui's boots looks like the one before the last.

What about them? I tried to match up Jacqui with boot 5, but I don't think it's it. I'll look again.

So Kung Jin, Takeda, Jacqui and Mileena are playable.

Rain and Baraka have chances but it's unlikely because Kung Jin being the bow guy pretty much confirms the leak and they were not listed there.

Erron has chances and he was in the leak so he is likely playable.

I don't agree that that confirms the leak at all. We had a mystery archer and we had the name of a main character we knew nothing about. All the leak did was put 2+2 together. It could have been a lucky guess.

That's the problem with that leak, the predictions were all so safe, even if the leak is true we won't know for sure until the game practically comes out.

Guys, if u notice the picture in which Raiden sucks Shinnok into the amulet, you'll see that they re actually in one of the stages which was recently confirmed. That means that in the story mode you have to fight Shinnok as Raiden at some point. Maybe thta does make Shinnok the boss. What do u think?

Plus that would be as much of excitement as it would be a letdown if we got those new characters plus... Jax, Sonya and Cage and no one else from MK4-MKD.

Then again, they may be trying to make some easy buck having the most requested characters as DLC. Reiko, Fujin, etc.
