Poor Skarlet. It seems everyone forgot about her.

I'd rather not have another ninja because I find it to be a lazy way to create a new character (let's just make another color-coded ninja!), and I typically don't like masks on characters.

Yes, that sounds ironic coming from a guy with an avatar of Erron Black, but Erron is the exception for me (and Kabal, but the mask is part of Kabal's character - not so much with the other masked characters). My favorite Sub-Zero is MK3 Sub. I love the new maskless Ermac (and Reptile, apparently). etc

Masks are fine if you want to keep your character mysterious, but there are too many mysterious characters in Mortal Kombat. I'd rather have memorable personalities and a mask makes it very hard to do that.
 
If they tried to make a new ninja every game then I'd agree with you, but I think it's the perfect time for a new one. NRS is hitting their stride and could make even Kobra into a AAA character. The new ninja wouldn't look like a swap of anybody. He'd just be a dude who controlled some dope shit and maybe had something covering his face.
 
I would like a new male ninja. I love ninjas, besides they are so different now, they don't look alike so the palette swap argument became invalid long time ago.

And unlike Lord Greyjoy, masked characters are my favourites, I'm even kinda mad Ermac lost his mask and bandages from MK9 :(

Oh and I would like Skarlet to return, I think she was such an awesome character gameplay wise and she had story potential too.

White and beige ninja with sand powers and, by extention, glass powers too.

yeah but she's not new, and white can still be for ice powers. and just because shes a ninja I dont mean she has to wear a mask. just white clothing , maybe like a torn scarf on her neck and her spiked hair.
 
Well, I wouldn't be opposed to one new ninja every once in a while. I guess I should have just said I don't want Frost to be a ninja in particular. I want her to be as far removed from Sub-Zero as she possibly can.

Yeah he isn't technically a ninja, but as far as classic MK is concerned he'd tossing smoke bombs and poison rice darts.

The reason he is there is because he has changed away from being anything like the palette-swap look, and I like that. I don't want more palette-swap characters. It's uncreative. It was uncreative back then, it is uncreative now. I'm glad at least a few of them has evolved into something else. ^^

Exactly my point. This NRS is a different team than the one who worked with the hardware limitations of arcade machines. Just because we get a new ninja doesn't mean he'd look like Scorpion with dildo powers. He'd be something unique yet familiar. Something I think many MK fans would be welcoming to.

Okay, yeah. That's the one I remember. It's not a special move, though. String-ender. I don't mind it as a nod to her father.

Johnny still needs more moves, though - either new Seido powers or an expanded shadow move arsenal. MK9 Johnny won't cut it for 3 variations. And I'd love it if they made his shadow powers red (like the enhance moves in MK9) to differentiate Cassie and Johnny more.
