Kitana Revealed!

I kind of disagree. I believe Story is just as important as Gameplay. The thing is... don't kill them in the first place. In MK1-MK3 the only deaths were Bi-Han (which was permanent) and Johnny Cage. Since Tobias left they have gone nuts with killing people off and resurrecting them.

I just wish they'd get an actual writer in charge of the story who knew what they were doing.

I think story is what drives this game.

Gameplay is important because it's the realistic way that we get closer to the story.

It's how you make that happen.

Also, is the way we have fun. Just fun, just to fight when you want, or have nothing to do.

But is not blood that makes MK different than any other games. Not even fatalities.

MK is different because it has a solid story.

That's why I wanted Kitana and Kung Lao at the least to be unlocked after we win NRW.

MK is not a COD game where some buy just to play multiplayer.

MK is all story, there is no way to avoid it!!!

Yes it is.
By now (after 22 years) the writers should know who's popular and who isn't, especially John Vogel.
Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Raiden, Liu Kang, Kitana, Kung Lao & Kabal - No need for those characters to die in story mode only for them to be brought back via a weak cop-out / retcon.
NRS sure as hell knows who is popular and who isn't.
Don't give me that.

There are popularity spikes in most installments, so its hard to measure... Mileena for example received a huge spike in popularity in MK deception, and Ermac also received a major spike in MK9.

I'm laughing at all Commander's posts. Watch him come up with a theory that it's Kitana's brother dressing up as Kitana for halloween.

So Sub-Zero and Kitana were hard to predict? Are you f'n serious?

I really don't understand the complaints here when we have a serious lack of information as to how two characters (or three if Sub-Zero is one of the two brothers) came back from the dead.

I mean, shouldn't we at least WAIT until there's something to actually discuss? We're seriously losing our shit on appearances with little story to go off on. And what I mean with the story bit, just basing off of what has been said from the characters.

We have like 2% of the story given to us when the rest of it has yet to be stated. We don't know how these two came to be, we can suggest, theorized, whatever... But nothing is going to be given until they finally do. Until then, if you don't like that the dead can't stay dead, then I guess stop following the story? I don't really have an answer to solve your problems, but whining and complaining about something with hardly any information backing it up as to why it's there is kind of silly, especially getting this butt hurt about it.

A friend of mine literally told me following a story of a fighting game is like trying to follow the plot of a porn vid. At times, I have to agree with him, as much as I kinda don't want to. A fighting game can have a good story behind it... but at times... it's a bit goofy to follow.

I never said that... I was referring to the scenario of writers having to predict character popularity in a position where character death is permanent. We are not in that scenario thankfully

Trolling Roaster acting like a troll again.
Nothing new.

Agreed.
How hard is it to predict any of the characters that I previously mentioned as being popular.
Jax, Sindel, Sheeva, Stryker - VERY easy to tell that they aren't as popular as the others that I mentioned.
I'm pretty sure that those 4 can stay perma-dead, and not many would care.

Main problems with the game are;

- Arenas
- Same combos with MK 2011
- Music Sound whatever..

Also play as Goro doesn't mean anything for me. He always been a stupid Sub-Boss.. too slow moves, no combos etc.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that Quan Chi used Sub-Zero, Kitana and Kung Lao as part of his army in the "War Against Netherealm" and then got killed/lost control over them.

The thing is Shinnok/Quan Chi had their own army in MKMyth/MK4 - Sareena, Noob, Reiko, Tanya, Reptile - THIS army should be expanded and THESE characters should receive upgrades and get roster slots, and these characters weren't shown yet, which means they either will on a later date (which i hope for) or they are not in this game at all. Sub-Zero, Kung Lao and Kitana should never die in the first place.

NRS only revealing MK9 characters got my hype level to somewhere around 0, it looks like MK series stuck in MKT times rosterwise.

Funny how Quan Chi has this "dead warrior army".

By the time the game comes out, he's going to be left with Stryker, Sheeva and Sindel.
How exciting.

Commander, take a break and come back when you're ready to act like an adult again.

God forbid I state my opinion, which you don't agree with or because it doesn't validate yours, because then I'm a child.
GTFOH

Yes.
Exactly, but I mention this and everyone shits on me for it, and calls me a child.
Seems like people are just butthurt that we debate characters being included from their childhood (1993), thus they get insulted and call me a child.

The deaths should be permanent. I still f'n hate MKDA-MKA scenarios:

MKDA - Liu Kang and Shao Kahn killed in the intro, Kabal mentioned to be killed by Mavado

MKD - Raiden, Quan Chi, Shang Tsung killed in the intro, Raiden ressurected in the same game (ow snap he is god, so he can't die! Then why to "kill" him at all), Liu Kang resurrected, Kabal apparently is alive and Mavado now is dead, nearly every MKDA good guy is dead...

MK Unchained - Shao Kahn apparently is alive, as well as Goro, Kitana, Cage, Frost & Jax get resurrected, Frost get killed

Armageddon - Hey guys, everyone is alive! We simply forgot to write any reason why.

It's only speculation, it's most likely obvious that they either got free due to their "master" getting killed, or they lost control of them, but it's still speculating. We don't have that much to go off of. And we still have at least two more months (because I doubt they're going to release anything in April before the release) of news.

I feel like they're just getting all the returning out of the way to make a few new characters' debuts to be more intriguing. We've already stopped talking about the ones we have already or at least not as much as the returning.

Give it time, we'll obviously have something to talk about and get our reasons.
