Kenshi is pretty much a given, he's been I'm every MK since his debut (Minus MK vs DCU) and if MK9 didn't revolve around MK1-3, I'm pretty sure he would have made it in the final roster instead of DLC. I did like his revamped move set in MK9 as opposed to his Ermac ripoff moveset in the older games, so I look forward to seeing him return.
They could fit in Kitana giving birth without Kang knowing and giving up the baby for some reason. Side story stuff.

I didn't know that dead people could give birth.
Ok i don't know the story that well. Lol. I just recall something going on between them.
So it's impossible? Story wise? (aside from sorcery and necromancing and stuff)

I mean, anything is possible in MK, but it seems like they didn't know each other that well in MK9.
Personally, I think that Kitana and Liu coming back from the dead are more likely.
Just my opinion, though.

I agree with all of this post.
Seeing a burned up / scarred up Liu Kang (not zombie) would be pretty awesome, and I'd like for him to still be angry with Raiden.
Maybe he even goes dark and helps Quan Chi and Shinnok, for a twist of events.

If Liu is to make a return in this game, I hope he's not the end boss. He's not surprising, nor is he fun. (Well, my daddy might beg the differ, but that's only because Liu Kang is the only character he's good with) But I do agree that he should not be on the side of good because of the events that took place at the end. I do feel that he should be neutral, I really don't see him being evil.
I just feel that he's not that great of a character to do all these weird things with just because he's the so-called hero of the series. He's just... bleh. Even when they made his fatalities gruesome in Mortal Kombat 2, it impressed me for like two times doing the fatality and then I got bored with him because he's just a bleh character to me.
Sorry to his fans reading this, I just never cared for this character no matter how many times they've tried to make us like him. Zombie Liu Kang killed it for me.

Zombie Kang was terrible.
I'd rather NOT have Liu Kang in MKX, than seeing that dumb zombie concept come back.

Liu Kang and Kitana have been in a relationship for the entire history of MK, as konfirmed by a recently unearthed MK1 koncept art of "Kitsune" (which eventually became Kitana).

If Liu Kang is still alive then maybe Liu Kang and Tanya can get together knowing that Kitana is gone. Later on Liu Kang finds out that Tanya has been using him this whole time.

No need to say sorry that is your opinion. I know a lot of people who feel the same way about Liu. I wont go into much detail about why Liu is my favorite just know that I see things about Liu that others dont..... To be honest the same way you feel about Liu is the way I feel about most of the ninjas and most of the villains in the series.

I really dont feel like naming all of them. All the ones I named have one purpose and one purpose only.... To serve. design wise yeah the look cool but as characters go I think Plank from Ed Edd n Eddy has more of a personally then these guys do(but again thats just my opinion
Now as for Liu I do agree that he can kinda be bland with the whole *Ill follow you raiden no questions ask*attitude (even tho he kinda broke out of it towards the end of mk9, and even then people still cried when he did that). What I want to see from Liu is not evil but not a goody goody find a middle ground where he is on the verge of becoming MKL liu kang but not go back to being mk1-mk4 Liu . If that makes sense to some of you
