Comic book and Manga thread

The original Nick Fury was white, but the Ultimate version was black.

I think since they went w/ Samuel Jackson as Fury in the big-screen, they want to make the same transition in the comics. Hence the ending of Shattered Soldier

Spoiler:
Where some guy called Marcus Johnson comes outta nowhere and ends up being Nick's son, then ends up taking his spot in SHIELD, even his name.. While OG Fury loses the Infinity Formula and his fate is pretty much left in the air; he even states that he doesn't know when he's gonna die but it'll be soon :()

I'm not salty or anything about the decision, I'm just not a big fan of it b/c I like Fury, but its change, what can ya do? lol. As long as they keep Nick Fury around, I'll be somewhat fine with it though.

Honestly, I hate when they change a character's skin color.

Like, wtf, only Michael Jackson does that shit. Comic characters should just be what they were born to be. If they ever made Storm white, I would fcking rage.

Same here Jade. I'm perfectly fine if you wanna do that stuff in "What If" scenarios or in the alt universes, like Earth 2149 or whatever, but to do it in the actual main universe is just messed up. I don't have anything about Marcus Johnston (I'm not calling him that other name), but the fact that he's taking over the OG just because of movie stuff really sucks.

The main thing I hate though is when they say: "We wanna introduce diversity/new perspective" or some crap like that. You wanna do that, just create a new character and give him/her the same press you give your other top heroes. It seems more like an insult then anything (IMO).

YES

Like, now (well, 2011, actually), they wanted more diversity in the Batman universe so they made Batwing, and that's cool, because he's a black dude in the Bat family, but he isn't Bruce Wayne.

See, that's cool. Is he Bats? Did he replace Bats? Nope, but he's still part of the family. Why couldn't Marvel do that for Fury? I mean, he already has SHIELD, not to mention the Howling Commandos. He could have put Marcus in control of the Howling C's or put him in some position in SHIELD, but nope...

On happier thoughts though:

Shoutouts to Coca-Cola

I'm so hyped for that Robot Chicken special. I loved their other shows, so I know that ones gonna be awesome.

Also, that cover is pretty cool lol.

I was talking to one of my e-friends back in late 2011 about Robot Chicken and I told him that if they ever came back on the air, they were going to suck. Boy was I wrong that trailer was hilarious especially that one part were Aquaman tried to get in the invisible plane but it turned out the Justice League was trolling him.

They had no Deadpool KTMV at the comic shop in Islands of Adventure.

They had nothing Deadpool except for T-Shirts and Action Figures. I was pretty disappointed/

Damn Shira, that sucks.

Also mkray

Spoiler:
not yet, but he will fight The Punisher (my second favorite Marvel character) in the fourth one.

Hype! We all may already know how it ends, but it'll still be cool to see. I wonder what way he'll kill him.

Spoiler:
Seeing Doom hanging like a clothesline still has laughing lol.
