I don't see how an MK game with gory fatalities, 2D fighting, the Krypt, a rich story experience and almost every other MK character wouldn't feel like a "true MK game", but whatever
People do that same shit with other games like Pokemon Colosseum (BUT THERE'S NO WILD POKEMON HOW CAN IT BE A TRUE POKEMON GAME!!!!!!!!!!!) and even the original MK3 (WHERE'S SCORPION WTH IS THIS THIS ISN'T MK!!!!!!!!!), so I guess it's inevitable
To each his own.
It doesn't feel like a true MK, TO ME.

And since you claim to be a fan for so long, it doesn't really make you any better than the bandwagon jumpers you seem to look down upon, since you would be willing to turn your back on a series that you've loved for a long time just because one character isn't in a game
You and I have 2 complete and distinct views on what a bandwagon person really is.
First of all, I speak of the bandwagon jumper who come to the MK series only when it's hot, and jump back off.
I have NO problem with people who bandwagon and become long-time fans.
Apples and Oranges.
Secondly, please re-read my first sentence before you just simply ASSume.
I said that I would get it when it went down to $10 - $15 down the road, meaning used.
Used = my $$$ going to GameStop or Best Buy instead.
I wouldn't be turning my back on the series, instead I would be voting with my wallet, and NRS won't see any of it.
Simple as that.

I hate the fact that Scorpion has to be in every game just because of his seniority and iconic status, especially since his story is pretty much the same shit in every game. I've been playing MK almost non-stop since I was 5 years old. I'm about to be 17 in 2 days. You don't see me going, "Scorpion is in the game? **** that, I ain't buyin' that shit 'cause NRS is too much of a pussy to ever leave him out for a new character once"
It's ultimately your prerogative if you don't want to buy MK10 because of no Sub-Zero. But, with that in mind, don't get mad at others if they challenge whether you're a "true fan" of MK, considering what I've just said
Metal Overlord, please, please, please read my first sentence over again, and the rest of my reply for that matter.
I don't want to pre-order a game that I don't agree with.
If you want to blindly pre-order everything that NRS shits out, then that's YOUR prerogative, but it doesn't make me any less of a fan because I don't buy into all their bull-shit.
The same thing happened with Metal Gear and Metallica, both which are some of my favorite other IP's.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will not see 1 red cent from me, because it's not a true Metal Gear game to me.
I am however going to get Metal Gear Solid 5 when it comes out.
Does it make me less of a fan??? NO
I decided to sit out 1 game, and buy the next game that follows.
You don't see me here sitting on my perch, saying that people aren't MK fans because they didn't buy MKvsDC or Armageddon.
If they didn't want to buy those games because they didn't like the premise behind it, then why should they be labeled as LESS any of a fan, just because you claim to be such a high-and-mighty MK fan who blindly buys everything.
With Metallica, I skipped out on the St. Anger album because I didn't like it.
I borrowed it from a friend, didn't like it, and therefore didn't buy it.
I have every other Metallica album that they ever came out with.
Does it make me less of a fan because I didn't buy 1 album? NO
Honestly, do you hear yourself?
Do you hear how ridiculous that sounds?
