Game developers you have beef with.

BANALITY
The purpose of this thread is to discuss which game developers/publishers
you either a. Can't stand because of a certain game that disappointed you, b. because this developer/publisher engages in business practices you feel are wrong etc etc. this thread also gives you an opportunity to share your experience with others the different games youve played from developers in which they aren't familiar with. I'll go first.

I have beef with gearbox software because of duke nukem. In my honest opinion game developers are not stupid. I believe they know their game sucks ass before they release it. And gearbox had the audacity(hope I spelled that right) to hype this game up so hard only to have it get terrible reviews left and right. Smh
Then to charge 59.99 for it is even worse. This game is worth no more than 5 dollars. Because stuff like this that's hurts their credablity, I have no interest in alien colonial marines or any future titles. If they can look me in th eye and tell me a game is gonna be off the chain and flat out lie about it, why should I believe you won't do the same for your next release

Capcom: it strikes a nerve when they charge for dlc that's already on the disk. These business practices I do not condone. Which is why I kind of don't feel bad for developers/publishers losing money from used games.

You get the idea for this thread. Have fun

Yeah I would say Capcom has been pushing it lately. Which makes me sad really since they made some great fighting games.

Not a developer, but EA is on my poop list. Not liking the whole online pass and Mass Effect fiasco. Capcom lost my money a while ago, and that sucks since I was such a fan of the Street Fighter series.

If you don't mind me asking, whats wrong with Bethesda?

Bioware
and it has nothing to do not with all that mass effect 3 drama, lol no

I'm pissed cause they cancelled KOTOR 3 for an MMO.

Capcom is a publisher, not a developer bud. The only developers I have issues with are the ones that are to afraid to speak out against their own games, in fear of being let go by the publishers that hire them. There's a reason why there still hasn't been a game developers worker union: they don't want it.

That's my fault. I put down capcom as a "developer"
Thanks for clarifying

Capcom
Square Enix
Activision
Tecmo Koei/Team Ninja.

Capcom for the obvious that everyone been pissed off at them for. Square Enix for trying to live off everyone else dynasty and sh*tting on it, and suck at developing anything thing other than final fantasy, or dragon quest(which also sucks more may I add). Activision, for there crappy COD games, and overprice, and ridiculous methods. Tecmo Koei because they seem to be creating a crap of games ever since Itagaki left(NGS,NGS2,NG3,DOAP).

Infinity Ward/Treyarch - Seriously guys, make a new game. It makes me sick watching these companies put out 60 dollar expansions every single year. Then it makes me disappointed in the fools who actually give them money to keep doing it. Call of Duty has becoming the blandest game and it's killing the FPS market with it's over-saturation.

Bioware- After Dragon Age 2, I gave up on this company. I played Mass Effect 1 and Dragon Age, but DAII and MEII felt like steps down. DAII became a mindless hack-and-slash with very little drive to beat the game, considering it's in the same city through out. Mass Effect 2 just felt like Gears of War in Space.

EA - They're not developers, but they need to chill the f*** out. Most publishers need to stop being greedy with the used game company, making players purchase passes to play online even though they already pay for an Xbox LIVE subscription. They can charge PS3 owners all they want, because they don't pay for online. Charging extra just to play their game online will kill the used game market like IW and Treyarch are killing the FPS market.

Same here, dude. I made the mistake of buying into their hype and buying Duke Nukem full price... Never doing that again with a Nukem game. I feel ****ing cheated. I feel like I deserve a full refund for having bought it. It didn't bother me too much at first, but the more and more I think about it the more pissed off I get that I spent 60 ****ing god damn dollars on it.

Actually, Capcom is both publisher and developer. They still have in-house development team to this day, although they occasionally get outside help from other companies such as Dimps for SF4.

Anyways, Capcom's too easy of a target to pick on, especially with their ruthless abuse of DLC feature. It's too bad considering I actually like some of their games. While I look forward to Dragon's Dogma, I'm having reservation considering their history.

I alternatively love and hate Bethesda. Their games are absolutely buggy. Granted, the scale of their games are huge and some glitches are expected. I love their games when they are running like they should, however their are instances where the games are barely functional, and it's not uncommon to have their games crash on me.

Koei these days has been content with cranking out Dynasty/Samurai Warriors, at the expense of their other (and arguably better) series or trying to do anything different.

Square-Enix has a similar problem with Koei. They have been leaning too heavily flagship series Final Fantasy, a series that has gone downhill.

Square-Enix. They've traded on the glow and shine of their past achievements for too long, and just have no ****ing clue how to make a decent game anymore.

EA, though not a developer, gets my ire for overall shitty service and inattention to problems in the games they publish.

I'm less mad at BioWare now that I've got SWTOR, but...really would still rather have had KOTOR 3, with a huge Skyrim type open-world with a story setting, and no monthly subscription instead of their single-player-heavy MMO.

Motion-control haters.

why yes, that would be me. And most people who play video games. Sorry to break it to you, but your a minority.

But it does go beyond that. The fact that they rarely release any of their big titles games and have 3rd party shovleware games as their Wii console's main priority is enough to be slighly mad. I'm just saying, during the gamecube era there were Nintendo titles popping up all over the place, and they were good games too.

I'm hoping they step things up with the Wii U.

I have never heard of people hating Nintendo.

Nintendo is the one system that just hangs around forever and ever and ever. I thought Nintendo would be non-existent with the inclusion of PS and X-Box but it still lingers. I don't hate Nintendo by any means, I just don't like the amount of kiddie games they have. At the same time, that has always been a 'Nintendo thing'. They have some titles out there for a more grown up audience but the majority are kids games. I dunno, I just think in a time where more violent and movie-like games are more popular, shitty kids games would be something people wouldn't really want to make the majority of their product based around, but, alas, it doesn't kill Nintendo, so if it ain't broke, don't fix it, I guess.

I know I'm not mad at Nintendo; how can I be mad at a developer that's made themselves irrelevant? Some hardcore Nintendo fans that are my friends piss me off though. They need to quit their dick-riding.

I like Nintendo, SNES is probably my favorite console to have ever existed. But it is a little irritating how gimmicky they have gotten. With the Wii's controls and the DS's touch screen (Now with 3D!! if the touch screen wasn't big enough of a gimmick). Though I ran out to by a wii. I only play Smash Bros, Donkey Kong, and Kirby.

Right now I have beef with NRS. They stopped patching MK9, I've had some really broken matches lately. Also a little annoyed at a complete eddition and PS Vita exclussives. Although it's a brilliant marketing strategy, what about the hardcore fans who bought the collectors edition on release.
