NEW MK Koming 2013 !!!????

If MK10 was to release in 2013 then they should release an UMK9 for 2012 featuring missing stages etc..MK10 i would have hoped that it would have been released for the next gen consoles PS4 and Xbox 720 :( and would feature games from MK4-Deception. If thats the case I also hope they can come up with several new characters as well. All in all its fun to hear a MK movie reboot in production for 2013 release date :) and I hope in the mean time NRS can release an UMK9 for MK's 20th Aniversary for 2012 until Mortal Kombat 10 gets a release for 2013

Now that this came into my head do you guys think the Mortal Kombat Reboot should feature the MK characters from the original 1992 game which would be the original 9 MK characters or should it feature some of the 32 (HELL NO) characters from the new MK 2011 game? Because 32 is way too many :/ or better yet what direction with story do you guys think they will go through with from the first 3 MK games released back in the early and late 90s? I never saw the episodes of Legacy but to the looks of it i think they are better off using the direction of Legacy instead what do you guys think?

well this is pleasant news but I just hope Havik is in it and guess what I want this game in 3d mechanics

still dont know if I want xbox 720 or ps4 though

The following characters are the only ones who should be in the film: Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Raiden, Liu Kang, Shang Tsung, Kano, Sonya Blade, Kitana, Mileena, Jade, Goro, Shao Kahn, Noob Saibot, Smoke, Baraka, Jax, Cyrax, Sektor, Sindel, and Quan Chi

I don't know how to take this news.
We all knew there was going to be another game, but I sincerely doubt it will drop in 2013.
And about the movie, We knew about that too.
That's a big ****ing hell yes, and again.. I don't see that being released in 2013.
Dates change.
The movie could come out this winter and game come out fall of next year, no one knows yet.
Those seem like more probable hypothesis.

yea Ed Boon twitted a link also and the movie is dated 2013 and they want MK10 to be release by then or around the same time the DVD comes out. If this is true then I'm sure they are already planning out the game cause it usually takes about 2yrs to make a good game and we don't want NRS to rush it. But please bring back Steve Ritchie as the announcer and it's gonna look great on PS4 and Xbox720. I don't know how Ed Boon is gonna top MK9 but I believe in him..Can't Wait!!!

You must be jocking ! My only hope is the return of Deadly Alliance Characters for MK 2013 ! Mavado, Hsu Hao, Kobra... Please ! Please, NRS !!

I have no clue about Mavado's future status, but I know for a fact that Hsu Hao has been retired....permanently. This was confirmed a LONG time ago by NRS. As a matter of fact, he was never supposed to last beyond MKDA, according to John Vogel.

As for Kobra's status, I don't think he'll be coming back, probably to avoid any future lawsuits from Capcom. However, I do know that Capcom has been known to resort to parody characters as opposed to legal action, the most notable case being Dan Hibiki.

But please bring back Steve Ritchie as the announcer

Unfortunately, I have reason to believe that Steve Ritchie's voice acting days may be numbered. According to what I've read about him, he's been suffering from tinnitus in recent years (in layman's terms, tinnitus is a condition where you hear constant ringing in your ears, which negatively affects your ability to hear). The worst case scenario would be complete deafness by 2013 (and this is by Ritchie's own prediction).

I'm hoping they don't make the same mistake as spiderman 3 and have too many people trying to share the spotlight and have everything feel half assed. MK has a lot of characters with their own side stories to cram in for one movie, so they have to leave people out. I think they should just follow the events of the first game for the most part and really shine on scorpion and subzero regardless if they're the main characters or not. I hope they'll also go the same route as the legacy style as opposed to rebirth. It just makes more sense when you know fantasy elements are involved and will seem more epic.

Brilliant!!! I can't wait to see Li Mei and Nitara to return (and also Tanya but I want her as DLC in the MK now). Also, I hope there will be create a fighter mode too with brilliant features especially fatalities. For now, I'm definitely enjoying the MK now along with the Deadliest Warrior games.

I rather have a build up to a big more organized tournament on different dangerous arenas during different days, similar to The Quest or Bloodsport, With spectators similar to some fights on mk9 story mode, it was nice to see raiden, etc spectating with no access to help and Meat head roids abuser shao kahn just sitting there like a badass with the hammer and surrounded by prostitutes :)
I dont want to see guys walking around fighting random people, we had that in the first two movies and it didnt make much sense. Example here is liu kang going down the stairs, oh shit blue guy lets fight, i won so let me walk around outworld, oh shit green guy, lets fight, oh shit white eye guy in a forest lets fight, EtcWith no one to verify who won the fight. Dont even get me started on annihalation!

I don't actually believe PS4/Xbox 720 is going to be released in 2013 AT ALL. At least Sony said that they were not planing to even think about a new console until at least 2012. So, I don't get why these people are even speculating the possibility of MK10 being made for the next generation of consoles. Both microsoft and Sony still invest heavily in their consoles...

Anyway, about the movie. The perfect movie to me would be one made in CG and telling the EXACT same history from MKSM. No need to make shitty alterations on the plot. It is already good enough for a movie. But, as I have been reading, the director WILL alter some characters origins and will make this movie something "close to reality". Fuk that, shithead. Why ruin the history with some ridiculous "codename reptile" and a mad plastic surgeon named "baraka" instead of making a movie based on the games' history? Seriously, I really DON'T GET IT.

And before someone starts throwing rocks at me, please take in consideration that this is MY opinion.

I have a legit questiont o ask everyone in this thread.

Do you think, they should work upon what they already built? Kind of like how Street fighter kind of just rehashes and perfects the same game but with perhaps a few new mechanics? Or do you want to see another complete rehash attempt?(while still aiming to be a competitive game?)

I'd rather they work on what they built upon, move all the characters over(Same moves with proper buffs/nerfs), build on new characters, while adding a couple new mechanics to the game. Like I dunno, A really nice Ranking system, along with ALOT more online options. Team 4v4's ect. Have a online tournament mode already built in so you just enter and play. ECT ECT. That way less work can be put into remastering complete balance, and more into the little things. Like a good training mode.

I'm not saying they have to use the same graphics/engine, but hopefully they keep with the frame data brought over. Work hard on thinking how to make zoning characters more viable against teleporters. Ect ect. Work really hard on story mode. I really enjoyed that RPG fighter type thing they did. I don't mean armageddon btw.

I just think starting a whole new fight mechanic could stray NRS down a bad road.

Dunno your thoughts?

New idea/engine/style? or work on what they got in MK9(fighting game engine wise?)

I think they should improve what they got so far. No need to revamp the gameplay, we don't know how bad could it be. It could be as bad as MKT to MK4 to MKDA/D/A or it could be good as MKA to MKVSDC. MK9 is MKVSDC with an improved fighting engine, and guess what: it is better. I believe it can be much better without having to suffer some MAJOR redesign in the fighting style.

But that's my opinion only.

I just hope the game is a continuation of MK9 and not based off of the movie (I'm expecting the movie to be bad). I would love a CG MK movie like others have said. I feel the only good game movies are CG (advent children was amazing). Also I'm sad that it looks like that's it for this MK :(
