Nerfing The Super Characters

Cyrax:

1. Make the bomb after the buzzsaw not pop up the grounded opponent preventing Cyrax from comboing further.
2. Increased damage scaling every time a bomb/net hits.
3. Give him a better wake up to compensate (like super armor on EN teleport or whatever).
If you're going to nerf Cyrax, then he needs to be able to wake up without using a bar. I'd be fine with the first two suggestions if they made normal teleport invincible on wakeup.
 
I don't even know how Kabal was thrown in there. He is PERFECTLY balanced...
1. His projectiles are glitched to the point that not even Noob Saibot can zone him out.
2. He has too many ways to build too much meter to the point that he can build almost 3-4 breakers per round which is incredibly stupid.


Shang Tsung, Sindel and Stryker are balanced characters, because they're great at zoning and have some mixups but they're not so good at rushdown to balance things out. Scorpion is a balanced character, because he has the sickest vortex in the game but he needs to go all in every time, he's high risk, high reward. Johnny Cage, Sonya, Jax and Baraka are balanced characters, because they have amazing rushdown but aren't good at zoning to balance them out.

Kung Lao, Raiden, Kabal, Freddy and Reptile are NOT balanced characters, because they are as good offensively as they are defensively. They even have superior zoning and superior rushdown than most one dimensional characters in the game. They excel at everything and are efficient at all ranges. Characters like that shouldn't exist.

IMO a character needs to have 2 strengths and 2 weaknesses to be perfectly balanced. Or be average at everything.

Actually, OP is pretty much right except about Nightwolf and Kano. Kano is only really strong online because of lag. And while it's true that Nightwolf doesn't really have bad matchups, he isn't that dominant either. But Kung Lao, Raiden, Kabal, Reptile, Freddy and Cyrax currently are.

I think they all need to be nerfed to some extent except maybe for Reptile, he's a very good character but not overpowered/broken like the others. Cyrax's damage potential needs to be tone down, but in return they need to give him something to make sure he remains tourney viable. Kabal doesn't need much change, they just need to fix his glitched projectiles. KL and Raiden are harder to balance because they are so broken design wise. They don't need damage nerfs, they need different properties like less pushback on block or smaller hitboxes etc.

I see a lot of 7s and 8s which in fighting game term pretty much means it's a doom matchup for the other character.

7-3 against kenshi. Don't bode well for me. Thought, hoping, it was a little better for kenshi, like the matchup would be 6-4 in Lao's favor. And I thought the kitana matchup is in kitana's favor. But still, one potential matchup being bad for kung lao.doesn't seem right.

I was wondering if nerfing Raidens superman so that it goes over you ducking, similiar to Lui Kangs super kick (both normal and Ex versions), would be a good idea.

But then I was thinking this only from terms of his teleport into superman. And it pays to block that because you have a free combo. Also his superman is WAY FASTER than Kangs Superkick, making instant reaction quite hard. However if you're blocking down when he teleports behind you, this makes a low poke on him safer as a instant superman would miss, and would interupt a possible quick grab or start of a string.

Right now, I don't see a way you could change his teleport that it'd make any difference, bar him appearing quite a long way from you. I think adjusting how the superman works in terms of hit box or speed (or both) would be a start on Raiden.
 
Amen.. how many tourneys has a Cyrax player won?

Never seen him dominate online either.

I fail to see the logic that if characters haven't a tournament, then they can't be OP... it is probably the dumbest argument I have heard... EVER
Not to mention there have only been a handful of actual tournaments... You saw JC win a tourney? With your logic, he MUST BE OP... it is just dumb
Characters are OP due to their insane amount of pluses and a lack of minuses, not if they win tournaments or not
 
Raiden is weak to KANO so anyone saying Raiden has no match-ups is just wrong. I can double flawless a raiden with kano. I have don it multiple times. Just keep spamming knive and ex knife and when he teleports, the reverse input for the knife is the upwards ball, so when he teleports, he will automatically get hit with an upwards ball. The only chance raiden has is dash blocking towards you or doing an ex-superman through your knife. One x-ray on raiden from kano means lights out.

you can jumpback punch with ANY character and stun raiden for a free combo when he teleports. You can put inputs backwards like nightwolfs shoulder ram and scorpions spear. Or if quick enough, you can uppercut raidens teleport or just lowkick spam. There is over 6 ways to punish the superman and teleport. His combos have disadvantage on block now, hes been nerfed and fixed.


Kung lao is BROKEN as hell and needs a nerf badly. Everything comes from the spin, the spin needs to be nerfed like 10 different ways.

1. He should NOT be able to spin TWICE in a row. thats lame as hell.
2. When you block a spin attack from kung lao, he should NOT be pushed back dashing distance. By the time you dash in, he can spin a 2nd time, it lands 100%. Only nightwolf shoulder ram and reptile elbow is fast enough currently to punish it. Maybe Mileena's roll. He should not be pushed back. He should stop in his tracks like a how kabal does when his nomad dash is blocked. he should be FULLY punished by combos on a blocked spin.
3.The whirlwind spin should NOT have priority over x-ray attacks. Thats lame as hell. Also, when he spins and I ground saw him with kabal, the ground saw misses.... It should not have priorit over raidens superman move either, or any projectiles or any ex armor moves. this spin goes through projectiles, it cancels and damages me when i use an xray on him and I cant nomad dash or superman this hoe.
4. Not sure if this nerf should be used or if its fair but the spin should possibly have a knockback feature to it instead of being a pop-up. The Ex-version of the Spin should be a POP-UP and the x-ray version of the spin should be a pop-up.

He is too broken, he has a styker roll, a lowhat, 4 different versions of teleports. 1 of which is NOT blockable, the other is 100% safe on block, one is a knockback, and the 4th tele is a POP-UP. On top of that, his ex-tele has shao khan armor on it and he can get a free hit and a free spin. His dive kick has priority over ANYTHING in the air, including air xrays, air-throws, anti-air throws and the ex has priority over air fireballs. the spin has priority Over EVERYTHING IN THE GAME except SOME fireballs form FAR distance.

Nightwolf shoulder ram is punished by uppercuts always, and his lightning is dodged completely if you jump in the air. He is not broken as all. Just ppl dont know how to play against nightwolf yet so they think hes S-tier.

Even I think sometimes Derp Lao has too much. For a start, jumping is off limits if you're playing him. His EX teleport has hyper armour. Was it not enough its fast and appears on the opposite side of the opponant. Don't like how his low hat causes stun..in a combo this makes the link safe and he can just carry on pressure.
 
what if they made Kabal's buzzsaws more like the mk3 ones. Where they made a loud-ass noise,giving you somewhat of a warning. Or would that ruin the whole move for some of you?

Kabal is SLIGHTLY OP imo (and please don't say I'm biased as I main Kabal) His instant air gas blast builds alot of meter and has no recovery when you land so u can keep churning them out. There is no way to stuff his buzzsaw move, his mixups off of a dash cancel are crazy good. The only thing he really suffers from is low damage but he still beats or is even with the entire cast.

His spin doesn't beat my enhanced DB2 with jade and it has normal armor.... I don't know what you mean by his spin beating out armor?

lol his roll is not comparable to stryker's roll.

Perfect example of trolling/flame baiting. Kudos to u sir! Cyrax is lopsided in a way that makes him unbalance2d yet if u remove it he becomes too weak. He needs a decent wakeup and at least some kind of mixup. Get rid of his broken resets and slightly lower his insanely high damage. And I do mean slightly

2. You can dash and uppercut, as well as A LOT of other moves that punish it.....

raiden is fine he dosent need nerfing and neither does cyrax(and i rarely use him), i lol when people ***** about raiden, yes i main him but i play a legit game with him and i do get beat from time to time, if you actually know how to play this game and use you character you would know how to get past these characters with success, the only character i think needs nerfing just a bit is kano for obvious reasons..this whole every one is op crap is getting old, and i really don't mean to sound like a douche (so please don't take any of this to heart,it is just my opinion) but it sounds like people are griping because they cant get passed a certain character, just practice that character till you know him and watch the animations your opponent does, that way you know what is going to happen and you can ovoid it

What are the obvious reasons that Kano needs nerfing? But getting hit by a single cyrax net basically means game over, and that is balanced?
