I'm in top 8 in CEO, show some support for me tomorrow

Circus did pretty well, IMO, his only/unique failures in this tournament :

- Fall for some of Cyrax Ex anti-air kick
- Fall for some of Reptile force balls
- Fall for some of Reptile elbow dash

I'm sure you will fix this, and improve your reaction time, if you catch the perfect timing to avoid these 3 special moves, your stategy will work perfectly next time you face tournament level Cyrax and Reptile skilled pros.

People in the stream video chat was very impressed with your Kano, because it's nice to see other character that is not overplayed as all the others, fighting for a place in a tournament.

Well, there are some things that are broken with Reptile, but nothing that should warrant big legit nerfs. I mean, there's the fact that Noob's teleport doesn't grab him when he's in his forceball stance (C'mon now, I can't jump over it if you use a slow/fast mixup, can't really dashblock through it and I can't teleport punish it? That's some broken shit man). For the most part, most of what was done at CEO is just Reptile's identity in MK9: disastrous speed on rushdown with very capable zoning. Although I still think the recovery speed on his elbow dash is just ridiculous even when it gets blocked, it doesn't necessarily deserve a nerf. He's just a highly underrated character.

I agree on hearing what Tom says on the S1LENT1 show about CEO tomorrow night. Will definitely be interesting, haha.
 
Good job dude! I hope you this next time. Like I said before, glad to know you knocked out a Capcom player.

What made me really happy was when Tom Brady did a Fatailty:).

Have to give Tom LOTS of respect for that.

He was a tester, he probably saw all the fatalities MANY times. Hes done more for the Mk series than a lot of top MK players, so just because he doesnt like fatalities doesnt mean hes an ass.

The only reason why I brought up fatalities was because everyone makes it seem like he's a biggest Mortal Kombat fan. This is my first time seeing him do a fatailty. And I do fatalities everytime I finish a fight and I'm not tired of them so that isn't an excuse.

And I thought he was an ass when he was talking shit about Online Mortal Kombat players.

I just saw this thread and decided to make an account. You knocked out Justin Wong and got into top 8? Oh man, I left before I could see your pools LOL. Then I left before I saw the top 8 play LOL. Sorry I held the team back in the tourney. I was pretty much useless.

We got top 4 teams lol. How the hell do you think you were useless. The only people you lost against are the people that me and Krebs ended up losing to and getting kicked out of the teams tourny.

but circus, man, you look kinda intimidating in person lol. Big guy with that much finger dexterity.

ive only gotten to watch one of your matchups (had to sleep) but i like your style, you dont try to go for hte combo constantly, instead tend to go for the sure thing, and it pays off. good footwork too. love the chokes too
 
I watched the Top 8, nice job JT getting Wong into losers. Man, wth was up with Tom on the salty Tier whore changes in the end. He should have just stayed with SZ and took the punish.

Man I'm so tired of hearing that. That's such an ignorant thing to say.

1. Pre-patch Kano is actually as strong as Kung Lao believe it or not. Up Ball (Circus didn't abuse it like other players though) was LESS punishable than Kung Lao's spin and Johnny Cage's flip kick.

2. Sub-Zero, Kano, Cyrax and Reptile ARE ALL top tier characters (pre-patch). So you might as well say that Arturo, Circus, Noobde, Banana Ken and Chris G were also tier whoring.

3. Tom Brady just used his alts because clearly it was obvious Chris G knew the Sub-Zero matchup well and was reading Tom like a book.

4. Noob is mid tier at best so that clearly wasn't "tier-whoring" from Tom.

5. It's often the top players that make characters become S tier. Not the other way around.

thought noob was mid/high (as opposed to mid) but w/e hes still fun :P

and in truth there is nothing wrong with switching a char on a tourney if you feel someones reading you too well on said char. I understood the noob switch tho imo subzero zones reptile better then noob, at least stopping his rush game. the kung lao pick confused me tho, doesnt seem like its particularly better then sz vs reptile, but maybe he was just trying to switch things up.

also after patch noob was buffed slightly, kanos and reptiles only drawbacks now is being more punishble after getting there upball/dash blocked which makes sense (doubt this will lead to much of a drop in tier listing) kung lao and cyrax tho got more substantial changes tho not by a major amount.

edit: @ circus i notice you using a stick, how do you feel about the stick vs the controller? ive been trying to get a stick but it seems only way i can is online, ill do that eventually i just sorta dont want to >.>
 
Well, IMO, Chris G adapted to Tom's strong zone with Sub-Zero, and after that flawless victory that Chris put, I think Tom tried Noob in order to see if Chris could accept a diferent zoner game pressure, but, Chris was reading Tom's gameplay , Tom did mistakes with Noob and that match was not so hard for Chris the same way the previous ones against Sub-Zero.

The Kung Lao stuff in the end ? well, that was an act of desperation, IMO. Since Tom had to make a choice, he tried his last shot using KL, but, did not work good too ..... maybe Tom stuck too much with Sub-Zero and this affect somehow his skill with others characters ? IDK.
