1. Ed Boon didn't lie about Babalites not being in the game; he never even said they wouldn't be in the game. In fact, he even said that they would be in the game. In a Game Informer article way back when, he said that he planned to include some "mildly humorous elements" such as Babalities and "Toasty!".
2. Has anybody ever considered the possibility that maybe NRS really did think they had an awesome netcode? Internal testing was probably really good, which led to them to think that they had a good netcode. Simple as that.
3. NRS did lie about a few things, though. They said that the Challenge Tower reward was the "best reward they could give us", there would be an Xbox 360 demo, more stage fatalities than ever, and that the Bell Tower would have its klassic stage fatality. If the klassic kostume bundle has a cost, then they also lied about not having to pay for on-disc content (even if the DLC bundle is really cheap).
4. You can complain about having to pay for them all you want, it still doesn't change the fact that you are going to buy the very thing you are complaining about. It's like with the prices of Call of Duty map packs; people complain about having to buy a $15 map pack with only 4 or 5 maps that were most likely rehashes of maps from previous entries and/or removed from the final product to release as paid DLC. People complain about the games themselves, too, saying that they are paying $60 for the same game with minor grahical/gameplay updates and another 6-hour campaign. Yet look at the record-breaking sales for both those games and the DLC for them. If you aren't going to buy it, then don't. And if you are one of the people complaining about the DLC yet you are still gonna pay for it, then what the hell are you complaining for? Just buy it and be quiet.
