Starting to REALLY look forward to this year's E3 !

E3 is coming in about 3 weeks. Of course WB will show off the new Batman Arkham game, but will they show anything off from NRS?

That tweet from NinjaBoy66 could be about a video they will release before E3, probably pertaining to DLC stuff, but you never know. Especially since PSN isn't available yet and probably won't be for another week or two, so I think they would wait for it to come back to release DLC on both systems simultaneously.

What do you think they will announce about Mortal Kombat at E3? What do you want them to announce?

IMO, they will release a short video of all of the DLC that will come out in the next year, with a schedule. Then they'll show another very short video teaser of their next project, whatever that would be. Or they could just give some hints in person (Boon will be there).

Some possibilities:

1. DLC. The obvious choice with the closest release date. Could be an announcement of the classic costumes and fatalities. Could also be a set of DLC characters like Scarlet and Kenshi. It could also be the MK3 robot costumes, the MK2 female ninja costumes, a stage pack, friendships, challenge tower, new fatalities, etc. They would probably show a video with a release date schedule and pricing.

2. MK1 PDP stick. More info about the PDP stick that was shown on the Gamestop website, including official release date and price. Gamestop lists it as August 31 release, with a $130 price.

3. MK HD Arcade Kollection. It is still a rumor, but maybe (and finally) an official announcement could come soon, now that MK9 has been released. The release could coincide with the MK1 PDP stick later this year, or next year when MK has its 20th anniversary.

4. an 'Ultimate' MK9 release. Maybe an Ultimate retail version of the game could come out late this year or next year, with all of the DLC and patches included. A "Game of the Year" edition, like the other WB game, Batman Arkham Asylum. To receive more sales, they could even add in a few special things that didn't do in DLC, like an extra character, friendships, etc.

I hope for a PC version but uhh.. in a recent tweet Boon said there are currently no PC version plans. of course that thing is in another three weeks so you never know, but still. other than that DLC I guess. hopefully with tons of information about it, we know about kenshi and skarlet but I wanna hear about Rain plus their DLC plans. as in, will there be more story mode chapters? costumes for all? just retro costumes or new unique ones too? stages? fatalities? more challenger tower stuff? I hope they analyze a lot on the game's DLC and maybe show us what they got in mind for the first four-five packs or so. btw the Ultimate MK9 idea is great, hopefully there will be one

Could be all those things, I hope we do get something MK related and he isn't just looking forward to being a fan this year.

i think DLC and add ons for sure, and I hope hd kollection.

I don't think a ultimate would be anytime soon since no one knows but nrs what they o putting and dlc maybe go into next year maybe later when they got stuff to show for it.

What I think NRS will reveal at E3:

- More MK 9 stuff (DLC .... extra characters, costume, stages ... etc, etc, etc)

What I WANT NRS to reveal at E3:

- Mortal Kombat: HD Arcade Kollection
- Mortal Kombat: Fire and Ice (Sequel to Shaolin Monks, with Sub-Zero and Scorpion that was cancelled when Midway went bankrupt)

To be honest I'd be very angry with a UMK9 getting Friendships if vanilla MK9 doesn't. Hate paying another $60 for features that I feel should be a MK standard by now.

What he said.

Also, I hope that they don't go the cheap way with releasing something as Ultimate MK9 next year because pretty much all of us would feel pretty left if the DLC will be overpriced and when that version gets more then we can ever get our hands on with the vanilla copy.

If they do anything, it'll probably be something like announcing UMK9, the MK HD collection or something along those lines. I would say DLC characters but has a developer ever shown off DLC for a game that has already been out at E3?

Kinda doubt they would announce an Ultimate MK9 so soon after MK9 released. If there is an Ultimate MK9 or a GOTY edition, we probably won't hear about it for several months.

I'm also a little skeptical that they would announce the HD Collection so soon after MK9 released. I'd think they would want to ride the MK9 train a little longer.

On the other hand, just announcing DLC at E3 seems a little anti-climactic, given that many other companies will be showing or announcing major new games.

So, I dunno, but hopefully it's sweet. Looking forward to it.

I know DLC will be announced. Hopefully it will be stuff I wanted Klassics/MK3 Kostumes and more Kombatants. With a few surprises as far as MK DLC goes. Its kinda early for an ultimate version so I dont think that will happen.

I think they will announce MK:HD and the kollectors and Tournament editions. And Im praying for a sequel to Shaolin Monks if not Fire & Ice then MK: Origins where we get to play out the origin stories of our favorite characters.

How are we so sure that they are even going to do anything at E3? You've got big games like Modern Warfare 3, Uncharted 3 and Battlefield 3 that will be there, and even bigger, the Wii 2 being revealed and playable there, and knowing Nintendo, it'll probably be something that'll warrant a lot of hype around it. I doubt NRS would want to be around that; last year wasn't as competitive and plus, they actually had a new game to show off. This year is different, and I think that they'd want to show off something a little bigger than UMK9 or their DLC plans so that they can compete, which, IMHO, they can't really do since MK10 won't even be announced until next year.

Also, that video NinjaBoy66 is referring to is merely a behind-the-scenes video (basically an MKast) that's not even DLC-related (although they are planning on releasing videos for DLC). If you really good investigation skills, I bet you'll find what I'm talking about if you search his Twitter.

MK9 has only been out for three weeks, so no one should be getting their hopes up for an Ultimate or GOTY version. And DLC isn't big enough news to be annouced at E3.

Besides, that second tweet was ambiguous. Boon might just be stoked about E3, not revealing anything.

That would be the worst thing. That means they are thinking in fix the bugs and add the content they missed in the "SAME" game and sell us it again. Hell no, thats a fraud.

Agreed. Announcing an "Ultimate" version so early when the game has only just been released will be pretty crappy. It will only mean they have been planning this during the development of MK9 and may have even withheld certain content.

Lets not forget Ed Boon is a human too.

He likes games just like the rest of us.

He is probably talking about seeing games for himself at E3.
