Welcome to issue #2 of The NetherReport. It's a bit later than usual, but I've been quite busy the last few months with stuff back on the Earth Realm. We have a few more stories than
last month, so many I had to cut them out. Maybe those on the cutting room floor will make it back next issue.
Kitana and Mileena Voice Actress in “Mortal Kombat 2”
Karen Strassman the voice actress for both Kitana and Mileena in
Mortal Kombat (2011) now has a supporting role in "Mortal Kombat 2" listed on her video game voice over resume. This happened last time with many actors in Mortal Kombat 9 listing their roles, so it's not surprising. So it's likely there is a new Mortal Kombat in the works, but this doesn't give us much more to go on at this time. I honestly believe her
more than I believe Keifer.
Announcing TRMK's E3 2014 Coverage
On that note, we are now announcing that
TRMK will be covering E3 2014 from the show floor this year. This is a special one for us as 15 years ago
we covered our first E3 in 1999 from the show floor. In 1999 they had both
Mortal Kombat Gold and
Mortal Kombat Special Forces on display, which really shows how long ago that was.
We don't know what, if anything, will be unveiled from
NetherRealm Studios but we're planning on being there incase they do. Typically they've done major game releases every two years. Based on that we're guessing that the next game will be revealed just before E3 in early June along with a E3 booth for demoing the game at the show.
My hope? I hope that NetherRealm Studios reboots their classic game
The Grid for next generation consoles. But more than likely it's the next installment in the Mortal Kombat series, but why not do both I say! So stay tuned, we think it's going to be an exciting year!

Today Firmware update 1.70 was released for the PlayStation 4. It comes with a built in video editing app and HDCP disable option for HDMI capture devices. They also made some Twitch streaming improvements as well. All of these fixes are really handy for those playing Injustice for the PS4 and want to stream their games.
Denim Ninja Cosplay Meme
This denim Mortal Kombat ninja crazy took the internet by storm last week. Many variations were created as people tried to out do one another. I especially like the Raiden one below.
Galloping Ghost Arcade Expansion Kickstarter
Our friends over at the Galloping Ghost Arcade here in Chicagoland are running a Kickstarter to expand their business. If they are successful they could end up being the largest arcade in not just the Midwest, but the world! I
recommend backing their project because of all the support they have given the MK Kommunity time and time again.
More MK2 ROM Hacking
Another great MK2 arcade hack was released recently. This time a fully playable Jade, Smoke & Noob Saibot were made playable on MAME with some cheat files. Check out the Jade game play through below.
Injustice Year 2 Issue #4
Today the 4th print issue of the comic Injustice Year 2 was released. You can find it at your local comic book store or on the various digital comic stores. I'd tell you how it was, but I forgot to go get my copy at lunch today.
