Over on the Midway Boards, three more loading screens from Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, featuring Quan Chi vs. Kung Lao, Taven vs. Daegon and Reiko vs. Frost were released. Also, over on the Official Website videos for 30 characters have been added to the main characters section of the site.

Mortal Kombat: Armageddon is the last chapter in the current generation of Mortal Kombat games. Featured initially only on Microsoft Xbox and Sony PlayStation 2, the game will have the largest roster of characters and also feature a new "kart" racing mini-game dubbed Motor Kombat. In North America, the standard and premium edition PlayStation 2 versions will be in stores on October 10th, while the Xbox version will debut on October 17th. The game will also appear on the Nintendo Wii in the first quarter of 2007.

Thanks Immortal Reaver, Rain Demon and Glamador.

October 10th? I thought it was the 9th. What gives? I was getting so excited cuz I only had one more school week left and then a Monday.

Really nice Vs screens, once again. Indeed, Kung Lao's facial expression is hard to interpret. Lol. Taven & Daegon look much better than I expected them too. Frost's pose is cool, and Reiko's new weapon is mad! And it seems that this game is generating alot of unwanted heat where the release dates are concerned. I can't say that I'm one bit surprised.

The 9th is when Midway says they ship the copies to retailers, which is a Monday. The 10th is a Tuesday when retailers mostly reserve that day for new releases. Publishers say Monday, stores say Tuesday. You'll for sure be able to find the game Tuesday. Monday might be a bit harder. Although we have seen in the past the games actually being for sale the Thursday before. It all depends on the logistics of Midway and the stores. I'd expect to see some reports around that time as the street date gets broken by a few unsuspecting places, like Targets and Wal-Marts, where the consequences don't phase those retailers.
