IGN has the
first word out of
Germany at the
Leipzig Games Convention regarding the latest build of
Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. In their preview, they detail the degree of finality of the series' characters, the
"Create a Fighter" mode, the arrangement of the new
Crypt, the single player tournament ladders, the air kombat system, and the new online mini-game
Motor Kombat. Here's a short blurb on the new crypt layout.
While Conquest mode isn't entirely the same as it used to be (there are two young men fighting for player's attention this time around named Taven and Daegon), many of the similar features that recent MK fans have had are similar. For instance, there will be new codes for players to check out, including within the crypt, which has received a brand new look. Instead of focusing upon the grave theme, there was a wall display showing off the various concept art, videos and brand new character modes. Players should be able to access this at any time.
Mortal Kombat: Armageddon is the last chapter in the current generation of
Mortal Kombat games. Featured only on
Microsoft Xbox and
Sony PlayStation 2, the game will have the largest roster of characters and also feature a new online "kart" racing mini-game dubbed
Motor Kombat. The game will also appear on the
Nintendo Wii in the first quarter of
2007.
