Midway has released the box art for the three additional Premium Edition versions of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon for Sony's PlayStation 2. The three boxes include Johnny Cage and Goro, Kano and Sonya, and Shao Kahn and Sindel.

The Premium Editions will feature a second 60-minute DVD, featuring a "History of Fatalities" and video featurettes of more than 50 characters, an autographed animation cell of the game's cover by Ed Boon and an arcade perfect emulation of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. Mortal Kombat: Armageddon is currently scheduled for a simultaneous Sony PlayStation 2 and Microsoft Xbox release on October 9th, 2006, with a Nintendo Wii version slated for the First Quarter of 2007.

All cool, but I like the Cage/Goro one the best, and it's the one that I have pre-ordered

You can choose your cover for a CE game?
August 3rd, 2006 7:15 PM CST - Umon Daisuke
I would guess so. I remember that the Xbox MKD Mileena edition was plentiful, while the other versions were harder to get. I asked for the Cage/Goro edition, but also made it clear that I'd be happy with the other editions if the "retailer" couldn't get it. I get my games from a small chain of stores here, so they don't always have a choice while ordering from their supplier.

Ah I see, well when I go in I'll see about asking for the cover I want. I just don't a bad cover for a great game.

I really like the artwork on the Shao Kahn and Sindel cover. The Kano and Sonya one is pretty cool too. I'm not too fond of the Cage/Goro cover. Cage looks a bit stupid.

I want a Kintaro and Motaro one. Kintaro in the foreground and Motaro in the background.

Of course you will, dude. They are PS2 releases pictured above. Now the question is "Which One Will You Buy"?

I want the one with Kano and Sonya, I'm just wondering if my Playstaion 2 will run the game since I live in Europe?

Nope, your system is definately PAL, dude. The game will be released in NTSCJ and NTSC formats then UK and us Aussies and the Euro markets will get their turn a bit after that. As usual a worldwide release is not always the case, especially with MK titles. For example, us Aussies will most likely have the game hit our shores around January. But if we're really lucky, you and me will both be playing by XMAS 2006. Being the ideal release time for the PAL format. But hey, who knows, we maybe playing it the same time as the Americans. But for all the Chippers out there, they will be playing as soon as the game is released. No matter which country they live in

Why is that, dude? It makes sense in that they were married. Or do you mean why did the MK Team make that one instead of another cover with two other MK characters?
