Today the nice people over at
Midway.com sent to many of the fan-run
Mortal Kombat sites, for a token of our hard work, a new render of
Scorpion's new
Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance outfit which debuted on the cover of the new
Game Informer. Now if we can only get a bunch of nice screenshots for you fans, we'll be all set. You can click on the image thumbnail to view a
MUCH larger version of the image which is about 100kb in size for those with 56k modems.
On the new outfit of Scorpion you can clearly see he has two swords attached to his back, but what can't be shown here is that his spear attaches to his back. This was shown in some ingame screenshots in the latest issue of
Game Informer, which we mentioned earlier today. So we believe this to be a tell tale sign that the game will no longer just make the character's weapons appear from thin air but rather that you will see where it came from and it will no longer be there once it is drawn. The issue of
Game Informer also hinted to the ability to disarm a weapon weiling opponent like in
Mortal Kombat 4. So once they drop the weapon it will no longer be of use to them until they can pick it back up. Only time will tell on these play mechanics.
